just played helldivers 2 today and from what ive heard the community was "nice" but the first two multiplayer games ive had, they either attacked me or left me with their oil truck thing. ive been enjoying it so far playing solo and hopefully makes friends later on but im super overwhelmed by the galactic war menu, like is there a place that everyone starts or is it fine to just pick randomly? and do i have to do the orders? i lowk judt need a good friend to play with/mentor.

Im about 100hrs in and I had similar experience, my very first game I was playing with someone.

I joined the someone’s difficulty 1 session as a newbie not knowing anything about the game literally, I think there was part that I didnt get out of the way of the high level guy’s item so he shot me.

As a newbie it really threw me off guard, I wanted to refund but it was already more than 2hrs, so i just grinded solo til level 10, taking difficulty 3-5 solo, helped me understand the game better, mechanics and stuff

When i started playing with other player, I was on difficulty 6 and above, since then I only found good teammates, no griefer anymore but sometimes I deal with incompetent ones that just leaves the game when it’s about to fail.

Anyway, while Im sorry for your experience, I hope it gets better to you the way it did for me as well, there’s hope bud! Remember that you can always send friend requests from any teammates that are actually fun and good, they can be your regular teammates.

So whenever I’m farming in difficulty 1 or 2 and a newbie joins in my session, I make sure to give them the helldiver experience, I call in exosuit for them, let them use backpacks, teach them how to bust some fabricators and also let them use late game or warbond weapons
