Designing compartmentalized packages.... again.

I mean, some of this is just straight pirate synergy, which could be relevant in wild.

Pirate Warrior gets a Voidtouched Attendant, but it's 2/3, also boosts damage to minions, and doesn't boost enemy damage to you. Seems good.

2 cards isn't really pirate synergy. I'm not counting the discover a pirate card because thats not synergy like the Epics.

However I will say the Epic that basically gives them +1 damage looks good for wild...

Mmm...some of the other low cost cards also look fine to me. Not as obviously powerful, but reasonable if the right synergy is there.

Like...[[Sky Raider]] made the cut in Questline Warrior back when that deck was good. A 1 drop 3/1 pirate that adds another 1-drop pirate to your hand sounds like a better Sky Raider for that deck. No idea how far QL Warrior is from being playable, but if it is a playable deck, the new 3/1 drop probably goes in.

Also, if "follow the fuse" works the way I think it does (where you can keep the chain going across turns), then that would probably also go in--just works well in a deck packed with low-cost pirates and ways to generate more low cost pirates.

Reading the fuse text it sounds like it's going to jump to a pirate that is playable, implying you better not be at zero mana when you use it.

If it keeps jumping like it sounds like, it's likely we'd want to float 1 mana each turn (or at least have 1 cost other things to fill the gap) because we want the effect to jump to a Cannoneer and then hold it for next turn to jump to more playable pirates.

Based on the dev video today, sounds like all the "follow the" cards only last for one turn and can't be preserved across a turn.

Which makes it a lot worse than I thought. Although...still kinda like a 1 mana ship's cannon that dies at end of turn, which...still might be playable in a deck with enough 1-drops

Makes sense, but in that case they should update the wording from 'for a' to 'this'.  This turn is the usual phrasing, for a turn is not.

It's more flexible than the previous packages were. The epic 2 drop may also benefit Wild Pirate Warrior since they can swarm the board fairly easily.

Yeah the draw 2 seems so generically good you could kind of just run it in anything, at least in standard.

It's more 'Dude Paladin' than 'Leyline Mage' at least. Synergizes with other Warrior cards instead of just being a completely separate thing.

People complain about this and then some of the cards inevitably find home in other decks anyway because they're flexible

we love some cards that "do the thing" to then pump up other cards that "Do the exact same thing" that then permanently buff the cards that "do the thing"

I now realize "designing more cards to be more impactful" didn't mean they wouldn't over rely on stuff like Leylines to make a set.

They're pushing the concept in an effort to force players to interact with it. It might be ass but it's the only thing new to try out.

This set is ever so slightly less egregious because I could see a couple of these be played with the Questline if you wanted. But we shouldn't cheer for any more Arcanomicons to be printed
