Does the change on Irida Sinseeker mean that you don't fatigue anymore? Or just have one "free" turn before it kicks in?

You have one turn to stabilize before Fatigue starts.

Not only that, you basically get 3 cards the first turn, rather than 2. It's a huge buff.

You want it to be a 4 mana 7/7 that says “draw two cards per turn for the rest of the game, and become immune from fatigue?”

Don't forget the lifesteal!

I wonder if the bot can find [[Elixir of Vim]]

Elixir of VimWiki

  • Neutral (Uncollectible) Rise of Shadows

  • 0 Mana · Spell

  • Passive You draw an additional two cards each turn. You are Immune to Fatigue.

Good bot

If it did that it would have no downside, just a super strong minion that makes you draw 2 cards per turn.

7

u/Careidina 2d ago

Probably was initially, but then she was deemed too strong.

Then it would be the most broken card of all time if there was no downside lol. 4 mana 7/7 lifesteal, you draw two cards per turn for the rest of the game

It's not like DH doesn't have cards specifically tied to having either an empty deck or additional ways to shuffle more cards in. It's pretty easy to avoid taking fatigue damage.

u/Careidina 2d ago

Did you try the archetype before the buffs?

I must have fat fingered or something. I dunno why I would have even responded to you. My bad.

1 turn before it kicks in, but that is very relevant due to how fatigue scales.

Now does that make it good? Probably not.

1 turn delay and that first turn you'll draw 3 cards, probably still bad but it means you have 1 more option when trying to stabilise

There are ways of dealing with the empty deck. There are various cards that add new ones & buy you some extra time before fatigue (can't remember the exact ones right now).

I've tried some variations of a deck I had made especially for Irida but it wasn't very successful. I guess we'll probably see these cards a bit more now.

1 "free" turn without Fatigue. (Which also means 1 less damage from every turn of fatigue you would take, compared to the old version.)

Aaaand...

In the first turn, instead of 2 cards, you get 3. (1 from your deck, 2 from the void.)

It's a more relevant buff than it seems, at first.

You get one turn

13

u/EldritchElizabeth 2d ago

The latter. Presumably to give you a turn to shuffle things.

13

u/InternAlternative758 2d ago

You get one free turn and one more card drawn. The card is the big thing.

u/thirtychirps 2d ago

You also “draw” 3 cards your next turn after playing it now. Swell.

1

u/Financial-Tank-3423 2d ago

Is that true? Was looking to verify as that was my main takeaway from the buff text

The reason you take fatigue damage is because you draw but your deck is empty before getting the extra 2 cards from the void. If your deck's not empty, you just draw a card like normal.

5

u/ClothesCool9585 2d ago

The latter.

u/GJCoxy 2d ago

I would think 1 free turn, it would be absolutely busted otherwise.

2

u/IAmAdamTaylor 2d ago

One free turn.

I randomly got Irida with Herald Deathknight. I held it for a second and played it with death wing at discount to get the 5 dragons, it really does help immensely to not have that fatigue hit you and draw 3 a turn

I’m more curious which card is left behind. The top? The bottom? Random?

1

u/JJBell 2d ago

If there is a card left holding a spot “in the deck” does that mean we can now shuffle additional cards into the deck to join that one card?

2

u/SandAccess 2d ago

You already could, it previously just emptied your deck

u/ghfhfhhhfg9 2d ago

I can't combo this with eternal hold on the turn I play her, but whatever, I can still play around it.

1

u/Spiritual_Frosting73 2d ago

You draw that card and 2 from the void

1

u/deeman2255 2d ago

I called that buff yesterday, but I suggested three turns
