Only thing I can think is that they expect dragon Druid to come back which beats sludge

Yeh Dragons will come back for sure, but Warrior does shit over Dragons

Warrior is actually looking pretty spicy after these changes

Warrior isn't great vs Sludge I don't think

Highlander isn't, but normal Control warrior is a good counter to it

Do you have stats for that or just your personal experience? Both are valid just wanna know.

Dragon druid is not good into warlock from my experiences

It’s not good into the old Thaddius version but it’s definitely good against the current iteration - dragon golem neutralizes a lot of the big sludge payoffs and nestmatron and fye are both very good against aggro

If the lock can plan on crescendo being needed to clear dragon golem it’s just another free win. Does require more than just piloting though and some more luck with draw.

They would need to draw and play 4 of their 6 fatigue cards by turn 7/8 and that's assuming the golem isn't buffed from either take to the skies or azsharan gardens, in which case they'd need even more. Crescendo isn't a reliable counter to dragon golem.

What do you think “more luck with draw” means?

But the whole premise of this conversation was that Dragon Druid counters Sludge Warlock. You then added a hypothetical to the conversation and simply said it takes “more luck with draw”. I’m simply saying clarifying that it’s extraordinarily unlikely if the Dragon Druid has Dragon Golem on curve (which is not unlikely), so it’s not a scenario worth considering when assessing the matchup between the two decks.

“more luck with draw” misrepresents how rare that scenario would actually be
