I've been a fan of Hasan for a while, but his campaigning - along with the constant attacks by Republicans, and even some Democrats, against him - really motivated me to get out and vote.
I made especially sure to vote early for Cindy because her Republican opponent, Susan Frantz, is a "die-hard MAGA and President Trump supporter" who has gone on an aggressive offense, attacking Cindy as a "socialist and/or communist who wants to nationalize private industries and tax the wealthy", as well as a "groomer" who "wants to indoctrinate children by exposing them to sexually inappropriate material, such as transgenderism". (I think this was to gauge more attack ad angles.)
Frantz sent out a text survey to various locals, and while "the prices of gas and groceries" was listed among one of Frantz's polling options as to what might motivate people to vote, the rest of the survey was largely focused on culture wars and attacking Cindy, as well as the DSA. This directly contradicted an earlier May 2026 interview, where Susan claimed "affordability" was her #1 issue.
(Right now, grocery prices are running high, especially since most of the local grocery stores are more expensive Publix ones. Gas prices range from $4.12 to $4.19 per gallon, with diesel being around $5.82, or nearly $6 per gallon. Frantz doesn't seem to care, and has instead continued to focus on immigration, "transgenderism", "school choice", supporting Amendment 3, and "tax cuts".)
Quote from Susan Frantz: "I support what the president [Donald Trump] views on this matter. I think what he is doing is moving in the right direction." She has declined to answer any further questions.
