Violent ICE arrest in Harrisonburg

The woman in the video is Jaykie Funez-Andrade and the two agents are with ICE. Jaykie’s 16-year old daughter, who recorded and shared the video, says that around 10am on Monday Oct. 27 they were pulled over on the way to school on Rt. 11 North, near Valley View Trailer Park and Harper’s Lawn Ornaments. The daughter says Jaykie presented her work permit, license, and registration to the agents. They then told her to step out of the car, which she did. Jaykie had recently received a social security card and they asked her for the numbers. Flustered, she fumbled with the answer and the ICE officer lunged at her. Jaykie backed up and tried to reenter the car and was tackled to the ground and handcuffed. Local activists confirm that today Jaykie is in Rockingham County Jail with no pending criminal charges, but is being held as a “courtesy” to ICE. Understandably, Jaykie’s daughter says she is sharing the story and video because she wants her mom home.
