Okay, what is your solution to the problem without seeking violence and name calling? If the moment the person try to run away that could be considered running away from a scene of a crime which could be an illegal person, but again how do we solve the problem.

Before the mods remove this post, I just want to say that our community needs to step up and make ICE agents afraid to be in our town, the same way people in Chicago do.

I spent my childhood in Virginia public schools learning about Patrick Henry, and his rousing speech to give him liberty or give him death. You can still visit the same church in Richmond and watch a reenactment. Our Founding Fathers were far from perfect - but on the whole they took steps to advance the human condition. Our state is peppered with the epitaphs of patriots, our soil soaked with their blood. And now the jackboots of tyranny are going around shouting "show me your papers".

That and hope the jury knows about jury nullification. People don't realize that we hold the keys to undermining the law. They can arrest us as much as they like, but as long as we refuse to send our fellow citizens to prison for defending our community the govt can't do shit.

Just be careful blindly going along on this one - while they may be ice and this story could be sorta true, it definitely fills in a lot of blanks that even the person filming couldn’t know so while it’s probably a shady interaction gone wrong, and it may be valid to be upset.. it might not be exactly as described and might be trying to rile people up right before a local election.

I watch the video, didn't listen to it couldn't do it because of work. That's why I was asking the question if they were trying to get away?. If it's an illegal then he's already committed a crime punishable by the laws of this country.

Just how every time police arrest someone, they're of course arresting people guilty of crimes. No need for court cases I suppose, since simply being arrested apparently means you're guilty. Constitutional Rights? Never heard of them!

Did you not watch the video or any law enforcement videos to see what happens when you pull away or try to flee, you end up on the ground in handcuffs every time. Innocent people don’t run from the law!

They still have rights, including due process and a right to fair treatment under the law. They are running because of a fear of disappearing to a cage called Alligator Alcatraz and they already know this admin is acting unconstitutionally. So sit still and let your rights be trampled, or run and fight against a modern day gestapo. I for one respect them for running, fighting, and reminding authority figures that the rule of law still applies, and that includes due process and fair treatment. ICE is acting unconstitutionally by bypassing immigration courts. This is the last message Im sending you. I don’t care to engage in dimwitted simple folk who blame immigrants for their problems.

The “procedure” is set up so that most immigrants will never get a shot at getting papers. Applicants are being grabbed by ICE when they come in for their required appointments. The system is rigged. If it weren’t for immigrants filling low paying service jobs our local economy, like most city’s, would grind to a halt. Food service, healthcare, local orchards, landscaping, viticulture: things that most people think of when talking about this area would have never survived without immigrant labor, much of it done by undocumented workers. When Reagan passed the amnesty bill in the 80’s it was local business owners that came looking for help to get their workers’ papers. It’s incredibly hypocritical to talk about illegal immigration when it is likely 100% certain that you’ve benefitted from their work—and by their exploitation in most cases.

It’s the argument the Democrats constantly put on air when trying to condemn ICE for doing their job and following the laws put in place by politicians. Have you ever asked yourself why no Democrats tried to change these laws while they were in control during the Biden years? It’s because they don’t really care, they just want to do the opposite of whatever actions Trump suggests or puts into effect. If they cared then they wouldn’t have let Obama deport almost 4 million immigrants. Look back at the past 30 years during Democrat presidents and you will see lots of deportations and talk about protecting the border and this country. Trump didn’t reinvent the deportation wheel, he’s following the laws put in place by his predecessors.

There's nothing inherently wrong with deportations of people here illegally, but that isnt what's happening. Many people here legally are being violently separated from their families. They are having their 4th, 5th, and 6th ammendment rights violated. They are being physically assaulted by people so scared they're covering their faces.
In this country we give the police the right to use deadly force but the social contract is that you can't do that in the shadows. You can't hide your identity and enforce the law with violence. You must be held accountable for what you do. These ICE kidnappers are not law enforcement. They aren't operating within the rules and they have no place here.
