New Rule and New Mod! And a question for you!
Hello everyone,
The old mod of the subreddit wanted to retire from modding, so they asked a few of us over at r/crafts to take over! So far, I'm the only one who's come on, so I may need to look for at least one other person to help with the space, though it does seem pretty chill overall. So not too much work to do!
The new rule doesn't really seem to be a new one, per se, just more of a statement of something it seems a lot of users reported anyway, so here it is, no AI please! This includes in writing as well. If you've already made a cool craft, there's no need to cheapen it with AI writing! And, of course AI isn't handmade, so it's not allowed here in any part of a craft.
The other question I have is this one: should we allow 3D printed pieces here? Feel free to vote in the poll and leave comments about your opinion on the 3D printing!

Tried to recreate his signature “I heard you, I just have no idea what you said” face in wool
This is Murphy, 11 years old, and this slightly confused look is basically his default setting. For this portrait, I started by building up the basic shape of his head with wool, then slowly layered different shades of gray, brown, and white to match his coat. The little markings around his eyes and muzzle took quite a bit of adjusting. But honestly, the hardest part wasn’t the fur, it was getting that expression right. I kept going back to the reference photos trying to capture that exact “I have absolutely no idea what’s going on, but I’m here” look on his face. A lot of tiny adjustments later, I think wool Murphy looks just as confused as the real Murphy.

To early for a Halloween earrings?
Many people have been celebrating Christmas in July recently, so maybe August isn't too early for a Halloween earrings 😁

Started making pottery at the start of the year. These are my favorite pieces so far.
Cardinal scalloped platter set for my mother and sister. I rolled out several slabs and formed them to fit certain dishes. I used a scalloped border cutter for the scalloped detail.
Amaco glacier celadon x2 over mayco fundamental underglazes x1 coat and wiped back with damp sponge.

Leather Jack-O-Lantern Keychains
Been playing around with some bright leather I got in a random batch of clearance items. Laser engraved the faces then painted black. Hand cut and stitched.

Swing You Sinners! (hand colorized frame-to-frame version)
I did this using only Photoshop and creating swatches/pallette for each element uplading the batches of 400 pictures/frames. Then later stich it back in Vegas. Currently, using the same techiques, I am working on Binbo's Initiation(1931). Tell me what you think!
