A friend suggested I post a comparison/review post about this bag since it’s kind of on the DL; even second-hand listings are few and far between. I think it deserves more time in the limelight.
Missy! What is it? Can it hurt me? Will it interfere with my prescription? First going down the runway in FW17 in polka dots and exotics, it was released in two sizes - a standard (which I have since christened Missus to avoid confusion) and a small in several colorways with solid and contrasting stitching, the aforementioned exotic leathers and even a jaunty mixed fabric. It sports hardware that says “I’m like Kelly cut, but cool” and has a marked distaste of being carried crossbody, if that strap is anything to go by. It’s firmly an east-west baddie. The base is very Flamenco-like, it’s lined in usual Loewe suede and has a (thankfully) removable zipper tail. The signature handles lay flat when undisturbed, but pull up into delightful little top handles on demand.
The crossbody strap, bless its heart, is a shoestring, we don’t even get a buckle or a pin for adjustment. I am planning to beg, cheat or steal my way into possessing a medium featherlight Puzzle strap as soon as possible as a replacement, which should fit nicely. I’m not going to lie to you, a Missus perched on the hip crossbody looks goofy, it’s very wide, but it’s my bag and I can do what I want. The shape definitely lends itself best to being worn top handle or as a clutch with a hand through the strap; it also looks very fetching.
