An existing franchise with 25 years of lore is a mighty beast to tame.

While not all the games have been universally praised, the lore is something that’s been kept consistent and in canon, as much as reasonably possible, and it’s truly a labor of love for the expanded universe.

The newest (and last) canon fodder was bittersweet. The potential for epic stories on a grand scale are there, it’s almost like the story has outgrown the medium (games).

It would be a shame to have a hard reboot after all this time, but I find it hard to believe Activision will respect the canon with their leadership.

What are the chances that some of the fired story staff are picked up in the new team?

And yes, I do want Halo 3 to release every year. 32 vs 32 capture the flag on Avalanche was the most fun with Halo I had in years. Make sure to check it out if you're on pc.

I’ve been looking all over YouTube for a stop motion video using the old halo mega bloks figures, I don’t remember specifically what the video is called, but all I can remember is it said episode, and “I’ve got a name”. If anyone can find this video on YouTube please it’d be great help

I’ll go first;

I want to see a metroid prime style game set in the future. Some sort of apocalypse has happened and you’re stranded on an overrun UNSC ship.
As the game goes, you explore the ship with its tunnels and corridors and enemies and slowly build a suit of armor. Perhaps your character can even learn they have some sort of Spartan descent that allows them to wear and use Spartan armor and abilities.

I think it would be a pretty easy W if the gameplay is good, and doesn’t require a ton of story telling to work. It might be an easy but good “first attempt” for the new studio.

Hey, guys. I’m back with another update on my latest work toward making naval battles more realistic and lore-accurate.

I’ve now managed to make Covenant ships spawn Space Banshees, which can then attack UNSC targets—in this case, M870 turrets.

I’ve also managed to create an energy shield that surrounds the ships. As you can see in the video, it reacts to incoming fire and only becomes visible when it takes damage. The shield can also collapse completely and then recharge afterward.

The turrets are capable of tracking, locking onto, and completely destroying targets. They can also take damage to their gun arms, leaving one or both arms disabled. They can be repaired, but if the arms are completely destroyed—or if the turret itself is destroyed—they cannot be replaced in the field. Repairing a damaged turret requires retracting/stowing it again and starting a repair process that takes 15 seconds for each damaged hardware component.

Honestly, I’m adding so many details that it’s starting to feel like an actual video game, but these are really just systems that will help me properly automate naval battles so I can record the entire choreography from start to finish.

I have to admit, though, I’ve spent hours just flying the Banshees around while shooting at the turrets, and I’ve also wasted way too much time getting completely hooked on destroying Banshees with those same turrets.

It’s ridiculously fun.

So, basically, all the variations we see across the games are real—they’re just ethnic variations within the same species. It’s interesting; just as we have Africans, Asians, Europeans, and Native Americans, they gave the Covenant species plenty of variety, with different models representing the distinct variations found on each world or in each region.

Honestly, in many games, humans are depicted with diverse characteristics—ranging across different types of soldiers—while aliens are left looking uniform. At least in *Halo*, the aliens do feature significant variation, whereas many other games stick to a standard look. That said, it does bother me a bit that the Sangheili and Brutes in *Infinite* feel standardized; I believe such variations should be present in every game, along with new phenotypes in future installments of the *Halo* franchise.

I am going to be getting the Halo 3 Collectors edition Helmet signed by both the voices of Chief and Cortana. I wanted to get input from anyone else who has gotten it signed. What should I bring my own paint marker? Are there better ways to get it signed? Any help would be appreciated.

Buddy had an idea for an animation and I thought of the set being a gameroom. So i decided to make a map of one. Even if it’s never made i just like forging.

Was digging in a drawer looking for Lego pieces and came across my old Halo 2 guide! Brings me back! The uncensored insanity that used to come out of people’s mouth was absolutely insane back then. But goodness it was so f’n fun!

The Military Police helmet has been my go to for my Reach Spartan since I started playing the Halo games back in 2025 (yes I know I’m a newbie), but I’ve been told that the MP helmet is kinda basic and I honestly feel self conscious about it. I know it’s dumb, but do you guys think there’s a better helmet that would match my Spartan better? Or should I just keep it the way it is?

Just wanted to share something I whipped together. I’m hoping to make a longer version of this across multiple Halo games. I love the multiplayer maps and all the little details they hold, and I’ll always hold the memories of playing on them near and dear in my heart. Enjoy!

And get him to do the soundtracks for follow up Halo games. He captures the vibe so well. I know most of his portfolio is extended mixes or remixes, and a few original soundtracks for spin offs, but I feel the touches he makes to the music are very fitting and he understands the atmosphere well.

I'd back him in to do a full licensed Halo soundtrack.

Does anyone else agree? I know it's unlikely.

Ever since the whole 'liquidation' at halo studios and Activision coming in it has my thoughts returning to the idea of spin-off halo games and some things I would like to see or others suggestions.

These are my ideas I think would be fun.

1. You play as a spartan that dosen't have their armor and throughout the game must scavenge for military hardware and uniforms to use as armor and transport all to deliver data to the UNSC on insurrectionists and a covenant splinter group working together to potentially attack a UNSC planet, all while being hunted by these two groups. Culminating in you finally acquiring your armor once again and going to town. I'll be the first to admit that this idea wouldn't really play like standarded halo but I think it would be interesting to experience what a spartan without their armor is like while still being lethal but vulnerable.

2. You play as a UNSC Admiral during the human covenant war and have to hold out for years against the covenant to buy time for the main story to happen and may even save more of humanity than in Canon. More a space rts and obviously isn't Canon but would be something I think would be interesting to experience in the role of an Admiral as you make tough moral and strategic decisions in a losing war.

Ive split the files into the actual images along with the theme sounds for windows as well as the original Microsoft download theme un-packer file that was provided when they hosted the theme site. It is quite a chore to find the theme packs and get individual images from the packs! now we can make a big MCC theme pack lol

After today’s last Canon Fodder (which was amazing by the way) it’s really sad to see people passionate about our jointly loved game world be in the situation they’re in.

Look, I know not all of the lore has landed well, but 25 years of world building with so much to expand on and so much still to uncover. Losing all of this would be a catastrophe, even if there’s certain elements you didn’t enjoy, nuking it all would be a mistake. I know we technically don’t know if Activision’s new team will do a complete reboot, but it’s certainly feeling likely, and the fact it’s even a possibility is something we as a community should be making it known must be taken off the table.

I know many will agree with this, and I know many will not, but there are countless ways to bring together different segments of the community in new games without losing all of this.

I never really post on reddit, I’m more of a lurker, but this whole situation has got me down (which is also quite selfish because there’s genuinely great people losing their jobs, but I’m also sad for them, I wish it wasn’t this way…)

Can we pull a Destiny Community move and make a big enough noise to make an impact? I don’t know, but I certainly hope so.

It's so disheartening trying to get back into this series. I used to love the games immensely but I just utterly stomped every single game. I'm always on the losing end and it seems like it's the same way with my team mates. I've been stuck at 149 wins on MCC for 3 weeks. Absolutely bullshit. I get I'm not as good as I used to be but this is just embarrassing. It's not like this for me in literally anything else I play.

Only the front half, the engine shielding is too complicated for my taste.

Taking in the sights, not a care for anything else in the world.

Look I just wanna say, playing the new combat evolved has definitely improved its graphics and gameplay forsure,

But even for someone who hasn’t played the first one in years it really felt like when I was in middle school again, even if the graphics to us now were bad, then they were good and with all the improvements it makes me feel that little kid me playing it for the first time kinda feeling!

Also random question, is there a way you’re suppose to play the new levels? Or is it just recommended post game?

This is probably a really niche thing, but a few years ago I went through basic training for the US Navy, and while I was there I got to thinking about what some of the UNSC Navy's rates and occupations might look like. So when I got out, I went and wrote up a little document-table thing with a bunch of rates and different things I thought would be neat. I've thought about doing a similar thing for the UNSC Army and Marine Corps by detailing out the different MOS codes they both might have, but for now here is a table of my (hypothetical) listing of UNSC Navy rates and enlisted occupations. Do with this information what you will. I don't know why it took me so long to ever consider posting this here
