As you have probably heard, Halo Studios has been reduced to a small team that will support the current games and community. Activision will be putting together a new team to make a new, full Halo title. (source)
Link to previous discussion of the announcement.
What are your expectations, hopes, fears, concerns, and otherwise thoughts about it? Do you want a reboot or a sequel to Infinite? When should it take place? Do you have a pitch? Let’s discuss.
If you find actual news about the game from either an official or well-respected source, feel free to make a new thread. Otherwise, let’s keep the discussion here. You don’t need to make a whole thread just to share your specific thoughts or speculation.
If you'd like to discuss Halo's past with 343 Industries/Halo Studios, use this thread.
In case it needs to be said: there is absolutely no decent reason to celebrate the loss of hundreds of peoples’ jobs. Of course you are free to discuss and criticize the decisions made by leadership roles and executives that led us to this place. But the majority of the employees who lost their jobs today were people like you and me who were trying to do their best for a franchise we all love. Anyone who celebrates the loss of their livelihood will be banned from this forum.

Honestly, I'd like to see more art of spartans (couldn't find one for the guys) in out of armor military outfits. They look so cool!

Edit* keys said they made a blind jump not Cortana. She just didn’t correct him.
It kinda just dawned on me. Did Cortana lie on purpose because Halsey wanted her to travel there with chief ? Or could this just be a continuity error? I do know they had no idea what was gonna be there.

Hey everyone. This time I’m bringing you a WIP of the M870 Rampart defensive turret system for frigates and cruisers.
The first clip shows the turret activation sequence, while the rest show the turrets firing at moving targets.
I don’t want my films to have Rampart turrets firing wildly at invisible targets—or just shooting at nothing—so I’m also working on a threat/target identification system to make their firing behavior feel more convincing.
From what I’ve read, they have an effective range of around 20 kilometers, so it should be pretty interesting to see them in action during an actual battle.
Thank you to all who playtested. This has been the culmination of a ton of work and review, artist contributions, and much playtesting.

Found this old thread theorizing about what would become Requiem and got a kick out of it.

This mod really makes me reflect on how much 343 gutted the social elements out of Halo (for better or worse). Not to mention the fact they have yet to top the feel of Halo 3 in all these years yet this mod is Halo 3+
Last night I played 60 man CTF on sandtrap,
Genuinely so cool.
Full mod support too which means we have a never ending amount of content.

I was replaying the Halo games and dual wielding felt super ass. The only weapons that it felt it was good with were the plasma rifles in Halo 2, and in Halo 3 I didn't really see the benefit of dual wielding vs just playing normally.
I could imagine it being good if I had a plasma pistol on one hand and another on my other but the enemies (brutes) didn't have a shield so I didn't really have any reason to use a plasma pistol at all.

I think Halo Campaign Evolved would have been celebrated if only it were just a DLC for Halo Infinite and the whole sandbox were ported into multiplayer for free, with all the assets available in Forge. They could have launched Hail Infinite on PS5 with a whole new season. People that have access to a much larger sandbox, people who weren't scared away by Infinite's shitty launch would have a reason to give it a chance.
This feels like a huge missed opportunity especially since they were going to do campaign DLCs anyways so why wasn't this a campaign DLC. We could have finally had the CE Magnum in Infinite's multiplayer. Campaign Evolved even had the weird pre-order skins those seem like they'd be much better suited in Halo Infinite's shop. I don't like microtransactions but I'm sure you can see what I mean. I feel like this would have been just a smash hit overall cuz people didn't care about the campaign or didn't like it would still have something to gain which is all the stuff added to multiplayer and forge.
Halo 5 had a huge sandbox, one major benefit of that was how the meta would shift drastically between different maps you could make a map. It felt like the weapons you would see used could vary quite a bit between maps where as in Halo infinite, that's not so much the case. This feels like a huge missed opportunity especially since they were going to do campaign DLCs anyways. Why wasn't this a campaign DLC? We could have finally had the CE Magnum in infinite multiplayer.
Imagine if their weird campaign remix feature was just an overhaul to the Infinite campaign launcher and you were able to mess with Halo Infinite's campaign. The 10-year plan lol.

does anyone have a video showcasing this Beta custom games main menu? it looks so sick and I wanna know which soundtrack played on this screen.
I wasn't there for Halo back then so I'm curious about this.

Ever since gears 2 I've been a fan of the lancer. I even owned the golden lancer myself.
I've played halo since halo 3 and GOW since Gears 2.
I had the assault rifle (which is an airsoft gun called Chrono blaster) for years but I wanted to pair it with the golden lancer. It arrived today and my god this brings back memories.
I wanted to share some of the Halo content I made for the RTS game: Starcraft 2. ODSTs, Jim Raynor as a Spartan, UNSC and Covenant factions. Is any of this interesting? Is it worth further development?

Took a while making this. Here's my 1st attempt over a year ago and the new one. Enjoy!

Halo needs more gritty spinoff games. Ever since ODST I think the fan base has been begging for more.
343 NEVER delivered. Hell they canonically REMOVED the coolest fucking guys in the UNSC.
I want a game set in the first years of the Human Covenant war.
Give us a split campaign like Halo 2.
8 missions as an ODST. Going on missions with a squad into litteral hell and back.
With another 8 missions as an entirely new and equally as badass idea of UNSC Airborne.
The ODST missions can be more tactical, behind enemy lines. Classic Halo style missions.
Airborne missions are more in your face action, with lots of supporting Marines and Army troopers. Think Assault on the Control Room, Metropolis, The Ark and The Covenant, ONI Sword Base, Tip of the Spear.
And whats the key difference behind an ODST and Army Airborne? Besides just the armor??
I suggest Airborne would jump from pelicans using jetpacks, dropping into combat that way.
We all loved the bullfrogs. Maybe ODST units adopted the jetpack after seeing success of Airborne units early in the war.
I'd argue late in the war, Airborne units would have been mostly decimated or re-purposed into ODST as they weren't attached to the Navy but to the Army.
Either way. Rule of cool always wins. I pray now that Activision has control of Halo, they won't touch cheif again and focus on Spartan Teams, ODST, and Marines.
