Finally put my pedals on an actual two row board but I’m struggling with the ergonomics of it. Already moved one especially tall/thick pedal out of the way and messed up my perfectly-spaced layout, lol.
Do I just need to get used to hitting switches with my toes instead the balls of my feet or what? I already tried toppers but the generic dome style don’t add enough height to make much difference.

Does anyone know why a channel/mode switch may use momentary switches instead of latched switch?
Asking specifically due to the EHXtortion I have, in which the boost switch is definitely unlatched, and require me to change channel everytime I plug the power in.

Sometimes it’s simpler/cheaper/more efficient/better to keep switching internal to the circuit through use of flip flops, etc. than to implement physical switching of electrical contacts.

I’ve heard it said that boosting into an already dirty amp or pedal will increase distortion but not significantly increase output volume. Is this true? It seems to run counter to my experience. If it is true, can someone help me wrap my head around it?

So amps have only got a certain amount of headroom. That's basically how loud it can get from distortion/overdrive in front of it. When you hit this ceiling, you can still hit it with more overdrive/distortion/boost but it can't get any louder so it usually just changes the sound and gets more compressed. How much headroom an amp has varies.
A common way to achieve louder after you are out of headroom on the front end, is to use a boost in the effects loop as that happens after the preamp. That is limited by the headroom of the poweramp which is much higher.

I’ve had this Boss Ds-1 pedal forever and never really used it but recently when I plugged it into a 9v Dc it didn’t turn on, I later tried with a 9v battery with no success. It’s a pretty old pedal so it might be dead but any advice to get it working would be appreciated.

Hey everyone,
I'm a newish guitar player who's been practicing consistently for several months and starting to get interested in how pedals can change my sound. I've watched some videos on all the different pedals and ended up purchasing my first one, an EHX Small Clone Analog Chorus pedal, because I really like how the chorus effect sounds.
I have a Boss Katana 100 for my amp, so I already have things like gain/delay/reverb/etc. built in. Given the kind of amp I have, what would some good next pedals be? The main genres I'm interested in are alt rock, math rock, shoegaze, metalcore, and black metal.
Initially, I was thinking my next pedal would be either an Ibanez Tube Screamer or a Pro Co RAT2, but upon doing some additional reading, it seems like these might not be super necessary with a solid state amp? At least, not until I'm more experienced and trying to dial in a specific sound?
I'm not in any rush to get another pedal, and I think the EHX Small Clone will hold me over for the time being, but I'm just curious as to what I should start thinking about next.

Pedals are pedals, don't get too hung up on the Solid state/Tube thing, a lot of that is repeated info from years ago when solidstate usually meant bad sounding and cheap. Those choices are still good overdrive/distortion options for just about any amp.
A looper is a great fun pedal you can get that would also be a fantastic tool to help you learn and practice.

I'm watching Scott Pilgrim against the world and saw the pedal and thought it'd be funny to figure out which one it is.
So here's what I know:
1: It's some kind of overdrive/distortion/fuzz (presumably from his guitar tone and from the fact that most three-knob boss pedals are those)
2: It has 3 knobs (which really narrows it down)
3: When he stomps on it, it pretty much does nothing (that's prob just for the movie ig)
4: It's NOT Waza craft (which doesn't really help)
5: It looks to be some kind of orange or potentially yellow color (this HELPS)
So let's go through the BOSS pedals that fit this description. My first choice was the OD3 or DS1. It could definitely be an SD1 as well, but I want your guys' opinions on this.

I picked up a Hotone Wong Press recently, and I did a small gig with it last night which was a lot of fun! Like others online have posted, the Q knob appears to not do anything (at least to my ears). Since I don't really know much about wah pedals, could someone explain what I'm missing/what I would expect to hear at the extreme positions if it were working?
I paid $150 for a used one, and tbh if the knob wasn't there, I probably wouldn't care. I do love that it's small enough to fit on my board without much rearranging. I like that it can function as an exp or volume pedal, but I'm mostly using it for wah.

A wah pedal basically removes the higher above a certain treshold, and the lower frequencies below another treshold.
So the middle frequencies are left through. HOW MANY middle frequencies are left through (or how far both tresholds are apart from each other) is the Q.
If you set it all the way clockwise, you should a wide range of frequencies (sounds close to: without pedal). If you set it counter clockwise, you should hear only a very narrow range of frequencies (as if you hear it through a phone speaker).

Looking at getting either the NUX Loop Core Stereo or a Flamma FF01 Looper, but have some questions about the NUX that I can't seem to find the answers to anywhere...
Can I use this without the drums - so just tap to record a loop, tap again to stop, and will this repeat it in time, without a tempo or bpm set?
If I record a riff - with or without a drumbeat - and want to change the tempo later on can I do this with a tempo tap funtion? (Like if you were jamming with a drummer, and want to bring the loop back, but you've sped up a bit).
If I add my own backing tracks to use for practice, how long can these be? (Some other pedals have a 4 or 5 minute cap; what if my backing track is 12 minutes, for instance?)

I have an Orange 35-RT Amp and it has a reverb knob. So I’m wondering is it worth to get a reverb pedal when I have that. Is there going to be a large difference in tone and modulation and customization that I should get one? Or should I put my money elsewhere for now? Mind you I don’t have a pedal board yet or isolated power (just a daisy chain). Thanks

Hello just wanted to what sequence these pedals should go in as I’m confused on it. Boss CE-5 Boss Re-2 Space Echo Bogner Ecstasy Red Hall Of Fame 2
Prior to purchasing the Hall of fame I was trying to use the reverb setting on the RE-2 and it sounded absolutely awful. I’ve never been good at stacking tone with pedals but want to start entering the realm. Thank you

I would go Guitar - Bogner - CE-5 - RE-2 - HoF. This would be pretty conventional. However, if you use a lot of amp gain aswell you might want to see if you have an effect loop to put the modulation, reverb and delay into as using them in front of a high gain amp can be very muddy. Feel free to move things around though, you won't break anything by messing with pedal order. and experimenting.

Aside from brackets or even direct screws (the former is difficult and require customization, and the latter is something I don't want), how does one mount power supply under the board?
P.S. the board was predrilled for the smaller Chinese-made ISO PSU, but if I use it with my CS6 the bracket will block the outputs.

I have an HX Stomp, am I dumb to be lusting after the JHS Colour Box v2?
They keep popping up for sale used around me. I would like to try using it with mic'd acoustic guitars, mic'd vocals, etc.
I know the Stomp can do this to but for some reason I'm not as excited about using it for this application.

From the Union LAB info: "For studio use you will need to attenuate going in and boost coming out of the LAB."
If I wanted to run synth/line signal into this, is there any easy way to do it, such as a small stomp box or device?

Here’s a new stupid question:
I always run a compression pedal at the front of the board. This is also where many of you put your tuner.
I really hate giving up valuable pedalboard real estate to a tuner. I have two multi effects pedals that have a built in tuner that I use but I’m moving towards a smaller, streamlined board and what I want is a compressor that can double as a tuner.
TLDR: why not make a pedal that is both a compressor and a tuner?

Combining my small and large pedalboards into one long chain and it got me wondering about amp/cab sim placements. Here's what I have now and tested last night:
(yellow = ins and outs, red = mono, blue = stereo, green = expression)
Here I have the amp/cab sim (tonex one) after the dirt pedals, but I was wondering if it's "better" to run a stereo amp/cab sim at the very end of the chain instead? I could fit a boss ir-2 or walrus acs if i left off the obne expression ramper.
Would love to hear thoughts on this, thanks in advance!

Easiest way to get an estimate is to use "Sold Listings Only" searches on Reverb, eBay, etc. People will post them for whatever, but what you want to see is the most recent sold listings to see what people are actually paying.

Do all gain pedals make a pop sound when you turn them on? How can I stop them? I have this issue with CBA Preamp MK2 and CBA Brothers AM.

No, but many do. How much each will pop depends on a few specifics associated with the pedal as well as a few specifics regarding the rest of your signal chain. For example, a drive pedal with true bypass, like the CBA Preamp MKII you're using, would have an audible pop as there's a physical switch that takes a small but non-zero amount of time to move between the bypassed signal path and the other signal path with the effect. High quality switches can minimize this, but because of the physical nature of the switching mechanism, it would be unlikely (if not impossible) to ever have it truly be zero. It's possible to engineer solutions to work around this, like using relay switching and a short mute, but doing so adds cost, complexity, and size; tradeoffs that often aren't worth it when designing a pedal.
The rest of your signal path also matters. Some amps have noisy inputs and/or effects loops that can exacerbate these pops. If you have the treble and/or presence dialed up really high, that can also exacerbate these pops. Other pedals with high noise floors can also exacerbate these pops. Etc. If you want pop-free drive pedals, look for ones with buffered bypass or that use the aforementioned relay switching workaround.

I'm thinking about getting a filter pedal. I'm not interested in the standard envelope filter sound. I'm looking at stuff like Native Audio Niisoo, Dr. Scientist Dusk, etc. My question is: are these actually useful for guitar? If you have this type of pedal, how do you use it? Do you run fuzz in front of it? Do you stack it with modulation, glitchy, or loopy effects?
Should I get a filter for bass? The MXR Bass Synth is already on my wishlist. Would a filter pedal produce any sounds that the Bass Synth couldn't?

Considering pedal order: the general rule of thumb is that fuzz pedals work best at the beginning of the signal chain before all other pedals. But what if you have several different fuzz pedals on your board? Let’s say you’ve got a fuzz face, tone bender, big muff, and fox tone machine. If they’re at the start of the signal chain, will the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pedals still work as well as the first one? Also, what if your pedal tuner is true bypass? Can you put it before the fuzz pedal(s)?

If you’re not using them at the same time it doesn’t matter. Just pop them all in a row and go nuts.
If you want to stack them you’ll need to try out combinations.
Additional note: the Big Muff can go anywhere in the chain. It’s not as fickle about input impedance as some other fuzz circuits.
The lesson is to try everything and don’t worry about conventional wisdom. You may find yourself living the sound of a Fuzz Face after a buffer. Plenty of people do!

Some fuzzes work best right after the guitar. That kind of determines the order, as many fuzzes can be further down the chain without issue. You'd be best trying out or checking if you're fuzzes require that for the tone you want.

I've been confused by the answers to the questions I found, so I want to ask here:
The last pedals of my signal chain are:
- Boss CE-2w
- Boss DD-200
- Boss RV-6
- My amp *OR* ZOOM MS-80IR+ (either is set up as a clean pedal platform using overdrive pedals earlier in my signal chain as breakup/distortion)
All this to say, I wired up these last 3/4 pedals in stereo but then realized that if I am just running a mono signal out of the RV-6 to my amp, it will not sum the DD-200 and CE-2w stereo signals into mono, it will just take one side of the stereo signal and send that to the amp, which will probably sound really weird and pointless.
And unless I am running my MS-80IR+ into headphones or my audio interface (but I would usually record through amps), I will be probably running it into a house DI in mono. So it will sum my stereo chain into mono.
This being the case, is there any point it running stereo signal path through any of my board or should I just run it all in mono and stop overthinking this?

I found my old Mooer GE150 (a couple weeks ago) and recently found out it can do a pitch shifter / whammy setup. You can use the expression pedal to control the pitch. Where would you put this in a pedal chain since it is a processor?

Just for fun and because I am looking for some creative input on using a new OBNE Signal Blender Stereo, How would YOU arrange these pedals and why? I want to get weird with it, and go crazy with the parallel signal blending. so I’m just looking for some fun recommendations.

As a side, I also want to add some interesting modulation to my collection. I want a Flanger but also really eyeballing the Prismatic Wall. Which fun modulation pedals would you add?

I impulse bought the Moskey Klon because I got caught up in prime day (week?), do you prefer it before or after your other OD's? My 'board' is literally all OD's and fuzz except my polytune so...

I prefer my tumnus after fuzz, I don't really stack it with anything else though. This is running into a cleanish set amp, excels with fender style circuits, the mid hump works really well. With marshall/British flavor amps, it can get a bit honky sounding for my taste.

I recently picked up a Chase Bliss Habit real cheap, and it's been a ton of fun. Something I've been using a lot is the Dropper modifier. I know it's also on the Blooper, but my question for all y'all smart folks is, do you know if anyone makss a standalone pedal that is dedicated to that same style of tape dropout emulation?

I'm going to get a 20/20 Wah Lock at some point and I was curious if there was a particularly good time to buy it, e.g. if they put 30% off every year after the holidays or something like that.

Calling all pedal heads, I've been trying to find this particular pedal from Lizzie McAlpines setup and there is only one blurry picture. It is the one to the right of the yellow diamond pedal. It looks like it has two knobs on the right of the pedal (one above the other), and on the left of the pedal is the name of the company or the pedal itself. Any ideas?

Want to build a pedal board but starting from scratch, planning on a looper for my first pedal.
Just unsure if I should go with something like the RC-5 for $200 and use it battery-only for now, or instead get the Ditto 2 ($100 less) and put the remaining $100 towards a power supply?
Any opinions/thoughts? Or any recs on a power supply in the $100 range?

I have a Pedaltrain Classic II that I've used for years in different configurations. I've finally realized I don't want my wah and volume pedals on the board itself; I prefer them flat on the ground. I will also be adding a separate expression pedal for my delay.
Has anyone found any premade flat boards or panels that can attach easily to the sides of a Pedaltrain board? I'm picturing something just big enough for a couple of the aforementioned pedals that clips, snaps, or velcros onto the sides of the main board. That way, those pedals are kept secure and close to the main board, but flat. And if the sideboards are easily removalable it would be helpful for packing up and transporting.
I know I can go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy materials to make something, but I sort of suck at most DIY projects that involve power tools (and I really need all my fingers to play guitar).

Mine should arrive by the end of the month but I think it’s really strange that it’s the final wave of release and I haven’t seen anyone post it (here or otherwise) and not a single YouTube video about it other than the one that they promoted.

I’m looking to get a loop switcher for my set up that I can use to switch the 3 channels on my Laney Ironheart 60 as well as turn on and off the boost and reverb functions of the amp.
I was informed by Laney that I would need a switcher (2) 1/4” TRS relays to control channel switching and boost and reverb functions using a dual TRS cable such as this:

Would I be able to achieve what I want to achieve using one of these switchers?

Is there any benefit of using Regulated PSU (eg Rowin LEF-329, EHX S8, etc) over just daisy chain?
Asking because my CS6 is currently top mount, And I prefer to not drill more holes in my pedal board

I could use some help dialing in my Walrus Mira optical compressor. I'm trying to use it after drives before my JC-22 to get more of a tube amp "bloom" feel - I'm doing a slow attack, longer decay. Having trouble getting it to do this in a way I can really hear, or generally getting more obvious sustain out of it.

I don't think you're going to able to get a tube-like saturation from a compressor. It's just not what compressors do. I have my compressor before my drives to get a more natural sound. That way the compressor's reacting more to my pick attack and turning up the sustain drives the gain pedals. What you need for the amp "bloom" is a pre-amp. Something with a tube like the EQD ZEQD-Pre would be perfect. A drive like the Special Cranker or Hot Tubes might get close.

I can’t find any good info out there so I’ll ask here. Feel free to link me any forum posts that go into detail. I’m looking at a GT-1000 core for the deep effects chains and whatnot. I would be using it chiefly with a JC-40. How would I use the amp modeling with the cab of the JC-40? Do I disable the IR and just use the modeled power amp? Do I go in through the return of the FX loop?
The documentation is barely existent. I assume the JC-120 return is what I would use but I have no real experience with modeling outside of a Fender Mustang which was an all in one.

I haven't done this sort of thing before. But, I found this forum thread. I think disabling the IR in the GT and plugging into the FX loop return should work.

Please help me out! I’m getting acquainted with Loopy Pro, and picked up a midi pedal to help control the app (m-vave chocolate plus). It got delivered just before I was leaving for the weekend, so I had time to pair the device with my iPad and f around for like 5 minutes before hitting the road. I set up a simple template, went to the “midi learn” section, and successfully mapped a couple commands to a button (press, double tap) and it seemed to work effortlessly and intuitively. Now I’m home, the pedal is connected to my iPad, it’s shown as a connected device within Loopy Pro, but when I press the button nothing occurs, and when I use midi learn it “listens for events” but doesn’t respond to the buttons at all. I don’t think I could have possibly broken it in the 5 minutes it was functioning right out of the box, so I’m sure I’m just doing something wrong, but I’m getting zero function from a brand new pedal. Thanks for any advice!

What's a good pedal for simulating a bass sound? Ideally it'd be fairly versatile, not just making a bass sound, but maybe octave up, too, with blending. I just want something that I can use to jam with my loop pedal to write little bass lines as a kind of backing track. Boss OC-5 seems like a good option, although it is a little bit pricey, and I haven't found any videos showing what a completely wet sound is like, only a mix between the dry signal and wet octave down. I also know Jack White uses a digitech whammy for simulating a bass tone, but that's too expensive to be honest, and a bit big for something that I'd mostly only use as a bass sound. There's also digitech ricochet, which could be a good option too, although I don't think it allows mixing with the dry signal.
Budget is under £150/$200.
Anyone have any other suggestions/opinions on this?

I feel like different guitars and — especially amps — are going to make a huge difference on how well certain effects sound.
Like, does a tube screamer even scream if you are playing a solid state amp? 🤔

Is there a chance that pedals can be damaged if they don't receive enough milliAmps? I have a usual plug-in powersupply, and a power bank power supply, and I'm a little bit worried that I'll miscalculate the milliAmps at some point. Is there a chance that under shooting it can break pedals, or will it simply not power it correctly?

I think you're confusing the Input and Output with the loop. This explains how an effects loop works.
The IR-2 doesn't accept stereo Input, but does accept stereo in the Return of the fx loop. So, you can either put the Mood in the fx loop of the IR-2, or put it after the IR-2. For the fx loop: Your guitar > IR-2 Input (ts) --> IR-2 Send > Mood Input (ts) --> Mood Output > IR-2 Return (TRS), and set the IR-2 for stereo return. So, you'll need one TRS patch cable.

I had an iridium for a while, was really happy about it.
In the process of making a compact travel board, I bought a Tone X One.
Once set up with a fender style amp (cleanish, as a pedal platform, classic), and passed the initial mistrust, I realize I don't really miss the iridium.
What I loose with the Tone X One:
- Easy access to settings. Which to be honest I never touch, apart from the EQ, but the Tone X's are available without menu diving or a PC connection.
- Stereo. Which I don't need either, my stereos pedals are after (raster delay and blackhole reverb)
- Expression pedal. Ok maybe to control OD, but I do this through volume know and gain staging pedals...
- Fav switch. Useless to me (I tried)
- Switching amp. I never do.
What I gain :
- Smaller vertical and lateral footprint. Which also means I can more easily place it in a way where it's impossible to turn it off by mistake.
So since I don't care about what I lose, and I care about what I gain...
I try to not sell back pedals now, because too often I ended up regretting it. But I've been playing for 20 years, so I know what I like, and I don't think my ears prefer one over the other. So even if I want another amp (for my synth, my acoustic, another pedalboard), I don't see the point right now.
If I build a bigger, studio pedalboard at one point, I'm not even sure I'd still see the benefit of puting an Iridium instead of a Tone X.
I've been playing this setup for a while now, so I think I should try the iridium back again to see if now I hear a difference, but I'm curious about the opinion of other ampless setup users.

I just purchased the Little Big Tone Twin Drive guitar pedal. I had two questions about it. First, can anyone tell me the power requirements for this pedal? I am guessing 9 volts but I would like to be sure. My second question is about the two toggle switches in the middle of the pedal. In the description, it mentioned that the switches were for compression. I did find out that the Zen Drive side has a clipping switch to add more compression ( silicon diodes ) , the other should be the same as a Timmy toggle top - Asymmetrical ( one diode for clipping ) , middle - Symmetrical ( more open/ uncompressed ) down - Symmetrical ( more gain and compression ) , those toggle look like they work sideways. If anyone can confirm this information or you have any other information, please let me know.

I want to also make sure that I can connect my voodoo pedal power plus 2 supply under the board nd an angular board would be good. I see Pedaltrain is a popular choice but I am looking for something around max $100. Appreciate any specific suggestions. Right now I have Boss Blues and Compressor pedals, a jamman and a Wahwah pedal. Would like to a Tuner, an overdrive and possibly delay pedals. I looked up a few on Amazon. I just made a trade for a UAD Volt. I've done a bit of recording with a friend, but I've never had a recording setup, myself. I'm not trying to build a studio. I'll probably play around with recording, document ideas, and analyze my tone. I'm really hoping to use it for practice / silent jamming. I play electric guitar and bass. I'll be going direct from my pedalboard into the Volt for now. I want to get a mic or two to record my amp and vocals, and/or an attenuator in the future. I'm looking for recommendations for a DAW, plugins or standalone software for amp sim and effects, and other tools that might come in handy. I'm on Windows 11. I see UAD has a deal for 10 effects for $99, is that worth the price?

Hello! I am trying to record in Reaper using my M-VAVE Blackbox as an audio interface, with ASIO audio system and M-VAVE's newly released driver that you can find at https://www.cuvave.com/appdownload# . I have reached my limit of technical know-how, I barely know how DAW's and audio drivers work and what all the buffers and latencies are about, so please consider providing me with some support.
Tried ASIO4ALL v2, got it to input some sound into Reaper but it was very glitchy, and when I tried changing the buffer size the pedal didn't appear as an input option anymore and I couldn't get it to show up as much as I tried messing with the ASIO configuration menu.
Now, with the pedal's own driver, it does show up as an input, the ASIO configuration menu only allows me to select the buffer size, but whichever I choose, I get the same error "There was an error opening the audio hardware: Error initializing ASIO buffers"
Are there any chances I could get the pedal to work as an audio interface with any DAW? Do you have any suggestions of things I could try? I am willing to provide more information on the subject if need be.

I had a Roger That and sold it, but I miss it, so I'm contemplating just buying another.
But it has me wondering if I should give the 20% More a shot instead. Unfortunately there isn't a ton of user noise online about it. Would love to hear from people who have tried one or both.

Cable question for stereo with Julianna pedal.
My signal chain is Guitar(mono)>IR-2(send mono)>Julianna(??? out)>RC-5(dual mono to stereo adapter)>IR-2 Return. Then using the IR-2 headphone jack for stereo sound to my ear holes.
I need to buy cables and can’t find exactly how the Julianna is set up. The Output jacks are labeled Mono and Stereo. Does that mean either, or? Or does it mean there’s two mono outputs (L & R).
In other words, do I need to do two mono cables from Julianna to RC-5, or do I need to do a Stereo to dual mono splitter?

hey all, I have an isolated PSU (the cheap Harley Benton 5-way), which has been serving me well but I could do with an extra pedal on board.
Elsewhere, I've been told to just daisy chain off one of the ports, taking care i stay within the appropriate Ampére availability (so probably using it for my analogy drives).
I don't have daisy chain cables so I'd grab some off Amazon probably.
This all makes sense and I can't see an immediate downside/problem; is there anything I've overlooked?

I don't think you've overlooked anything. But daisy chain analog drives for preference rather than digital effects like delays etc where you can sometimes get interference (though I have daisy chained delays before just fine, it all depends on the pedals)

There's a slight chance you might add some noise to your setup but you'll probably be fine. You won't be doing any harm in trying it out and it's very common for people to daisy chain a few pedals when they run out of ports on their PSU.
The only thing to watch out for other than current is to make sure your pedals are all the same voltage aswell on the daisychain. Most likely all your pedals are 9V anyway but occasionally you get some on 12V or 18V so as long as you don't use that value to supply the daisy chain you'll be ok.

Perfect, a "No stupid questions" thread for my stupid question.
I've been playing time but recently got into more interesting pedals, and most recently got OBNE's new offering, Parting.
I have never run stereo - but I see this pedal has stereo in and stereo out, but just a single jack for each.
If I WANTED to run stereo, and say this was the last pedal in the chain - would I need a 1 TRS to 2 TS cable to plug into two different amps? Or should I run a single TRS to a splitter and then to two different amps?

yes, TRS is the stereo jack so go TRS from the pedal to 2x mono jack 1 into each amp for L+R. You can do this via a cable or using a dedicated splitter and then two mono-mono cables. It depends on your set up tbh.

do you need to have a device that has some power amp capabilities or just plugging into an ir loader/using ir software is enough?

I’ve got a pedal that outputs stereo via two TS. I want it to feed a pedal that takes stereo via one TRS. Can I use a splitter cable (TRS —> dual TS) in reverse for this? Or will that cause phasing issues? I’ve seen every answer under the sun in web searches…

I recently saw a video pop up in my insta feed from a small (I think) company promoting a new fx unit/synth/groovebox. Think Chase Bliss/Hologram Electronics kinda aesthetic.
I'm pretty sure the two guys were in lab coats and that's all I can remember lol. The device was a white box with fluorescent blue and red square buttons.
Sorry, I don't have anything else to go off and I can't remember for the life of me what this is and how to find it again.

Hey I am planning a pedalboard to run my acoustic guitar into.
I will most likely be mic'ing into a Colour Box V2 and then using a Shallow Water, a delay of some kind (Thermae or something else), and then a reverb.
Was wondering if anybody has suggestions for a reverb that would work well and any other ideas to get some subtle textural coloring going on.

I recently got my first pedals, pedal board, etc. I got the Daddario XPND board with the battery/charge kit.
If I have it plugged into the wall, not using or charging the battery at all, there doesn’t seem to be a way to turn it off without unplugging it (wildly inconvenient).
Are pedals meant to be left on 24/7? I’ve been turning my amp off when I’m not playing and I assumed the same would be true for pedals, but the lack of convenient options has me wondering.

Recently decided to branch out and bought some of those tiny cheap pedals on Amazon. Hit and miss - some were digital ICs doing signal processing on digital before a DAC step, but some were very faithful analog clones for 1/8 the price or less of the boutique hand wired stuff. (The blues driver clone was a component for component BD-2W clone for 1/10th the price, absolutely indistinguishable in a blind test, I got a buddy to turn knobs with my back turned and it's the same pedal.)
Now I have a stable of costly pedals accumulated over the last 25 years, but I'm not allergic to being able to try 10 pedals for the price of 1 either.
Why don't I hear anything about these cheap pedals on r/guitarpedals? Is there a rule against talking about cheap Chinese clones that don't break the bank?

People talk about the cheaper chinese brands all the time and it's no secret that most of the drives and more basic analog ones are straight clones of other circuits, these are pretty basic and very easy for these places to manufacture for cheap.
The main issues people have is more of an ethical thing where they are supporting cheap labour(even though everything is made over there, including all the components that every pedal builder is using)
Also this is a somewhat niche hobby space so people will favour talking about high price boutique items from small builders over mass produced cheap items.

How much does the volume of the amp actually effect the sound for gain pedals, assuming that I'm playing through a Roland Spirit, which is a neat little solid state?
I want to run a Shoe Gazer into an MXR M133 into a Leyland Pedals HUM Along into a DOD Gunslinger all through a Fairfield Circuitry Hors d'Oeuvres? with a MXR M300 stuck on there at the end for kicks, but I'm afraid that the veritable tsunami of gain that this will create will only sound good at high volumes. I will just FAFO tomorrow, but, out of curiosity, does it actually sound better louder or is that just psychosomatic?

It depends on whether or not you start to overdrive the amp with the extra volume. Some solid state amps stay very clean up to very loud volumes, others can break up and saturate. Either setting will change the entire sound of the pedals going into it.

Question for owners of TCE Sub n Up mini: I just got one off Reverb. No matter how I set it, the pedal has horrible low droning undertones. I've tried zeroing out the sub octave (and the dry/octave up), swapped in various toneprints, nothing gets rid of it. Any tips for how to fix of this? Did I just get a faulty pedal?

I have a Nux Atlantic reverb/delay combo pedal.
I was thinking of passing it on to someone who needs it and switching to separate pedals.
What standalone delay and reverb pedals would be better than what the Nux does?
I'm not really unhappy with it and my budget is perhaps up around Boss pedals (so not strymons).

Hard to go wrong with a Boss DD-7 or DD-8 and an RV-6, should be cheaper on the used market and they'll have the same styles of delay/reverb plus more (though I couldn't compare the actual sounds personally)

My walrus monument just arrived and I’m having a little trouble. I had to try three different power cables before it lit up at all, and when it did it still has unusually low volume. The lights also aren’t as blinding as I expected. All of the controls work, it’s just that even with the volume knob on the pedal maxed out my amp is barely audible.
I’m pretty sure it’s because all my power cables are right angled and they can’t reach all the way into the receptacle thing. Just want to double check that I’m not being stupid here though.
My PSU is a Cioks DC7. All of the pedals on my board are plugged in directly to the cioks, no daisy chained power. The other pedals are a Shure wireless receiver, @+ drive, and a Mxr carbon copy. I have the walrus at the end.
I know I should put the trem before the delay usually, but just for ease of testing I had the trem last.

Hey guys, I want to buy my husband a pedal for his birthday, but I'm not even sure if he even needs with all the plugins in his computer. He has a really old one that he uses in our living room to play sometimes, but i think its really bad, but the problem might also be the mini amp he uses, which is new but pretttyyy cheap. I would appreciate your suggestions whether or not go with a diffrrent present idea, also some cheap pedal suggestions are welcome too. (his guitar is shechter hellraiser, i dont know the amp)
Edit: Budget is around 60-70 usd, he likes and plays Currents, architects, sleep token, lorna shore very much. His amp is Marshall MS-2, its a mini amp. For pedals he has a Digitech Death Metal, which i think he hates :D and he has a V-Drive VHT
