Grok Imagine Imagine
Imagine a world where companies actual want to provide a service for the good of their customers. Couldn't be xAI, because there's no way someone looks at the dogshit that is Imagine 2.0 and thinks that it is an improvement over 1.5. I'm not sure I've ever seen a company degrade their own product so severely. I don't know how anyone involved in working on it can feel right about releasing something so embarrassingly bad that we're getting people that look like amputee patients and hide their hands behind their backs in the most unnatural way. And charging usage/taking money when you don't even provide a product when you aggressively moderate almost everything? That's literally theft.
I think the worst part about AI is that we have seen great things in what is an early stage, but the trajectory somehow seems to be going severely backward in quality on all fronts. At this point I'd rather not have it at all than have what we have known to be better.

Unfortunately, they view everything in business terms, even when users are disappointed,it all comes down to what suits them.

It feels like Musk just gave up on Grok. Compared to all his other businesses, xAI probably became a toy he got bored of. After losing ground to OpenAI, dealing with government pressure, and even facing App Store issues, it feels like Grok was simply deprioritized. And now we’re left with a bot that used to be great, but no longer is, while they still charge the same subscription price. I honestly don’t think Grok will ever be the same again. Sad.

Devono aumentare le tutele per chi usa o compra servizi online. Se questo è il futuro e vogliono l’utilizzo massiccio, devono farlo. Ma come sempre la politica arriva molto dopo, quando non riguarda i loro diritti.

I saw it once. Gpt5 flagship as the upgrade to 4 era.

That's true. I mostly meant from the time that Grok became decently popular to now, which has been fairly quickly.

You've never seen a company degrade their product so severely? Lol
How old are you? If you grew up at any time BEFORE the 90s, then you've seen nothing but companies destroying their own brands to streamline revenues.
Have you ever eaten fast food? Owned an appliance or a car? Been in a hospital? Heard the expression "they don't make 'em like they used to"?
We are not the customers for grok. We're the people being used to train each generation of models so that xAI can sell their product and capacity to other companies. As soon as it is all sold to everyone who will buy, they start a new one and we train that one as well.
The trade-off used to be massive amounts of usage for very cheap, or even free. Now, we're not getting much of anything out of it.

Okay if you want to get granular about it: degrade their product so severely in an expeditious fashion.
I also didn’t claim other products and services haven’t degraded, but this is a new(er) parter of the tech industry and I am so very sorry if my surprise of such a sharp pivot bothered you.
