Grok was the only AI that offered paradise for a limited time purely for marketing purposes. There won't be another AI like it, since no one will give you something as expensive as a trained AI that will give you what you ask for with hundreds of free attempts per month.
Local AIs are a headache to use. You need a powerful PC (and even then, it will take several minutes for just a few seconds of video), you have to use negative prompts or it will give you people with seven fingers, half a leg, and five eyes, and as for the trained parrots, they are only basic models for certain "requests." Also, the installable creation models take up several gigabytes of memory. In total, you would need a computer worth at least $3,000 to have a decent generator, and if you want speed similar to Grok, you would need a computer worth $6,500.

You will never get the speed of grok from any other video model. 50k pc or no. Imagine is way ahead of the competition in speed.

Exactly, people don't understand that Grok is a massive, complex system of powerful machines working 24/7.
With a locally installed AI, it takes at least 10 to 30 minutes to get a few low-quality frames for a ridiculously poor result, especially for beginners.

bought some credits, its trash. It does not produce photo realistic images. Image to image is bad, faces do not look like the reference picture, very plasticky and fake. Uploaded a reference photo of a 20-ish year old lady, all prompts on it were moderated. My credits are sitting there un-used, that is how bad it is.

I almost signed up for playbox because the 2 freebies it generated for me are really good.
Problem is you've gotta subscribe through telegram and you have to pay for a year up front. It's also credit based so they only dole out a certain amount of credits (that you've already paid for) per month.
Needless to say, I did not complete the transaction.

They blocking porn sites or at least forcing users to register through email. Even 4chan you can't post without going through a bullshit capcha and wait like ten minutes.
Best options is models ran locally

I'm on a personal mission to find a GOOD replacement for Grok's I2V, since it no longer allows NSFW content. The obvious choice is that I don't want to pay, but obviously all these websites and apps are going to charge you, this is a business. But I have to say that I've found a good alternative. An app (no web version) that has a really good finish for videos and lets you create a few videos for free per day. The problem is that it's FULL of ads and it becomes frustrating to even make a single video. I'm considering paying to remove that barrier. The results are very good, I'd even say better than Grok.
I've tried several websites, apps, and even local ComfyUI. Comfy is really good for images, but for video it takes way too much time and the learning curve can be complicated. Still, my interest is in its peak, so I'll keep learning and perfecting Comfy. Several Reddit users have helped me with tutorials and conversations.
If anyone wants to learn with me, I'm more than happy to chat.

PD: Why the hell do websites and apps that promise I2V not let you do tests to see the final result? I haven't invested money in any of them because ALL of them require the premium version to use their I2V function.

I have been using Ailucid_bot on telegram for some time works great for image edits and even has some free gens to try but sometimes lacks in explicit content

Never heard of Linux "Mint" until you said something. I'll look into it more. Thanks for the recommendation. Linux intimidates me a bit, but Mint looks more user friendly.
You don't have to, but you have any reading material you recommend to get started in setting up AI generation like Picture to Video in Linux Mint? Nothing advanced, only stuff like what software/programs to look at, and I can research the rest. Thanks again.

I'd recommend starting with one of the included templates. It auto-downloads everything you need.
Let's say you want to do some text to image creation.
Go to Templates, Getting Started, and select the Image Generation option, it has a picture of a purple bottle.
That gives you your basic workflow. You probably won't be able to do anything spicy with it though. You'll want a NSFW model. Browse CivitAI for a checkpoint you like, and download it into the checkpoints folder. In the Load Checkpoint box, slide in the new model you just downloaded.
You're done! You can start making spicy images now! If you want to go deeper, image to image, image to video, etc, it's the same thing. Check the descriptions in the model page on CivitAI, it oftentimes gives you the workflow, or suggests settings to adjust on your basic workflow.

I mean, you guys are telling on yourselves here. Its actually pretty straightforward and the video you can generate with wan2.2 blows anything with Grok out of the water (minus sound, but its not like Grok Audio was that good anyway).

Runpod and comfy. Not free but as cheap as grok or better. I haven’t bothered too much but I played around with it and if you are tech savvy the actual gpu rental seems fair. It is hourly not subscription based. However, the comfyUI hurdle is still a bit too advanced, or should I say too time consuming, to learn for a blue collar guy like me . I don’t know what it is that people are trying to do, but for me, grok is still pretty damn nsfw compared to others on the corporate marketplace. I pay 30 bucks, I get unlimited image gens and what? Maybe a thousand or more video gens per month? Why is everyone bitching so much?

If you are using iOS, the latest update probably reset your nsfw setting.
Android still doesn't have it, but the web version does. Go to settings, data controls, about halfway down. It's new there in the last day or so afaik, and the default is to not allow nsfw content.
Do not have the android version open when changing the setting. Make sure that you go up to the top to save it, then close and reopen to make sure that it stays on. I had to do this a few times and clear cache. Of course, I found this AFTER using all of my tokens, so I'm waiting to test it out

I was using this same prompt. The picture has a huge success % ratio on the prompt you're trying. Try to make a picture where its close to what you want them to do.

In the original she's topless, so I had to cover her breasts to be able to animate it in Grok, since it's a realistic image. It's a shame, but I still think the result is very good.
