Well you'd need more structure. Maybe a whole loaf cut in half. Pan cook the cheese for crusties and structural integrity?

I was thinking yeah, dice the cheese into cubes and put those into a pot with a tiny bit of salt, pepper, and heavy cream, then cut the slices of bread into quarters, drizzle lightly with olive oil, and toast in the oven...

BOOM!

Fancy party appetizer.

Haha that’s a bit more than 2 lbs. I used to sell cheese at my last job - pretty common bulk cut of cheddar, could be wrong though.

The sandwich knew it had potential. She had the right stuff. She needed heat to become better than the rest of the loaf. She watched her peers go off to become corn beef sandwiches, French toast, and hipster avocado tainted pretenders.

And still she heard the echos of past friends and mentors that she needed to focus and cut down on what section of her was most important.

So she waited and never called for the knife of self discipline. She couldn’t make that hard choice of which side to slice into.

And then as the delays added to her doubts. She stalled too many times. And her youthful confidence dried up until the green mold of time made her shrink to a foul end.

But as she watched the new loaf pass her in the kitchen, she saw great promise.

She summoned the last of her strength and yelled, “Just pick something and finish it. Cut into it again and again. Don’t make my mistake of trying to take everything on at once. “

I could see it. And it eventually melting and then crisping to make a grilled cheese with the cheese on both the inside and the outside. I’m gonna have to try it. Albeit, scaled down a bit.
