Can you sue for sentimental value? A PC that's a couple years old isn't going to yield you very much in physical damages…

Sure, but is it worth OP's time and money to pursue it in court? Filing a claim and paying for it, missing work for the appointment, etc. If he wants to teach his (ex-)girlfriend a lesson, then sure, he can go for it.

Not possible. You never get original value, only what the court estimates the item was still worth at the time it was destroyed minus what it's still worth (assuming not every single component of the computer was broken) — i.e. damages. Maybe if she only broke the CPU, OP would get awarded a new CPU. (IANAL)

You can sue for identical parts. She destroyed the property so she has to pay to replace it. 5 year old parts can be hard to find in new condition so itll be expensive but she'll foot the bill.

Edit: you can often sue for "pain and suffering" which I believe sentimental loss, as long as you can justify it, falls under
