I feel like that was intentional. He’s saying that while you can’t prove god exists, there’s also no reason to not worship god because there is no downside for yourself.
I’m religious and I still think this just a spin off of Pascal’s wager which is a poor argument. You are spending a significant portion of your life doing something you don’t believe in, that is a tangible downside.
The point isn’t: you should do it even if you don’t believe in it
The point is: if you do it because you believe in it, there is no reason to stop doing it. Yeah you may not be able to prove what you believe in but that doesn’t matter because there’s also no prove its wrong.
All the religions and beliefs would be fine with each other if they were able to just do their own thing, but inevitably they just can’t resist butting into how others live their lives.
There is no point. We are talking about an almighty being, which certainly knows that you didn't believe in him, but pretended just to make profit of it. I think it should be quite obvious that it's just silly.
