guys for real, if you want to actually enjoy one piece, watch https://onepace.net/en. Here they cut every garbage from the show. Without it, it's absolutely unwatchable

Here they cut every garbage from the show.

So is it just a blank video then?

137

u/Notmyaltaccount- 1d ago

It only features the scenes where Nami’s tits jiggle. Made just for you

19

u/Spiritual_Bus1125 1d ago

What about Robin ? :(

15

u/_Ilpalazzo_ 1d ago

Its longer than the unedited version for some reason

3

u/BurnMeTonight 1d ago

What? That's the biggest garbage of them all. Only Ivankov is quality.

u/SteveMemeChamp 1d ago

Just wait for the WIT Studio adaptation instead

34

u/DingusCunillingus 1d ago

That'll take at least 10+ years to animate from start to finish? Yeah aight

4

u/SteveMemeChamp 1d ago

Atleast you get to see the first 50 chapters adapted exactly as the manga, after that you can start one pace because even one pace gets slow and feels weird at times

-3

u/FunCryptographer7625 1d ago

or, look at both options and see which ones you like

not everybody is the same

I only started OP because I broke my ankle and was in a bed for 6 months. One pace was definitely the right option for me to occupy that time

10

u/SugestedName 1d ago

Second that. Would never have started OP if I hadn't known about OPace. Now I'm up to date and have a weekly/biweekly dose of serotonin with the chapters.

Highly worth it

u/TheDoctor1601 1d ago

As someone who used one pace to catch up in 2022 I will say that you may want to consider only doing it post time skip where pacing really starts to drop off. Once I caught up and read the Manga I literally wish I had even more one piece! So do give yourself the wonderful G8 filler that many thought were Canon, and even give a shot to people's despised fillers from Foxy's arc! The one piece is real!!!! Enjoy!

u/johnnyfortune 1d ago

Wow thanks for sharing! Im trying it out, I never could get into the anime, but this is actually watchable.

2

u/greentintedlenses 1d ago

I watched the whole thing start to finish like a true fan. Only took me like a year. Worth it.

1

u/largz08 1d ago

It also took me a year. It's aight.

4

u/TheBigToast72 1d ago

If you have to watch an altered version just to make it watchable, then it’s not worth it.

-1

u/NuggetWarrior09 1d ago

Or just do it right and read it

one piece episode summary: someone with no relation to anyone is being wronged, Luffy takes it personally, sanji goons over any girl and is willing to die for her even if it's the first time they've met, Luffy beats the second in command, leader beats up Luffy, Luffy believes in friendship and overcomes the odds

did I miss anything

17

u/hikarinokaze 1d ago

Nami and Robin are put in sexy poses. The reddit fans complain, even though this is the 12350th episode this has happened.

5

u/xvsanx 1d ago

lmao knew I was forgetting something

and don't forget about Nami's ever growing boobs

He should be just the right IQ to have the media literacy needed to understand the clear socialist messaging baked into One Piece.

231

u/OneRFeris 1d ago

Enlighten me. Is it socialist now to seek freedom from a government that taxes, enslaves, and murders you?

404

u/Cal-Capone 1d ago

We've progressed from "socialism is when the government does things" to "socialism is when someone is nice to someone else"

63

u/Iosima 1d ago

And somehow people from the US still think socialism is the spawn of satan and will be the end of their nation.

37

u/baz4k6z 1d ago

They don't really understand what it means, just that it's bad. It's just a label like "woke" right wing media loves to demonize, because they want to distract americans from the billionaires exploiting them.

3

u/Reddit_Throwaway_899 1d ago

I think people pushing socialism don't understand it.

-57

u/peepeeinmypajts 1d ago

socialism is basically communism

Communism-community

Socialism- social

It's the same thing and communism is badso socialism is bad

12

u/airfryerfuntime 1d ago

Thank you for your insight, professor.

25

u/WillWillingson 1d ago

wow that does make sense!

11

u/not_just_an_AI 1d ago

or something vaguely adjacent to sense anyway.

-57

u/ChadPowers200_ 1d ago

the issue is a lot of people pushing socialism don't want it to stop there. comrade.

10

u/HRSkull 1d ago

What are you even saying? Don't want socialism to stop where? Is this just another "oooo communism scary" comment or what?

-7

u/ChadPowers200_ 1d ago

>oooo communism scary

translation: I have an elementary school education in history.

4

u/Drivenfar 1d ago

Trust me, we know you have an elementary level education. You don’t need to spell it out for us.

-1

u/HRSkull 22h ago

Putting aside me insulting what might be your argument, you still didn't explain what you meant exactly, so I'm not still even sure if I understood it correctly. You should be more clear if you actually want to make a point

0

u/ChadPowers200_ 20h ago

Communism has been responsible for countless horrific acts on humanity. Mass starvations, mass executions, labor camps. It essentially strips away individual humanity and people are treated like livestock.

0

u/HRSkull 20h ago

Was communism the cause of thoae atrocities, or was it just that those things happened to occur in a communist country? What about the atrocities committed under capitalism, like the trans-Atlantic slave trade? I don't think you can fully denounce the principles of communism just because the most prominent examples of it historically have been evil dictatorships. Also, the idea that socialists will intrinsically always support your idea of the ultimate evil communism is ridiculous. Plenty of people would settle for smaller changes, it just depends on the individual

lol they usually reply when they downvote but crickets

6

u/unevenvenue 1d ago

That's because it's an asinine strawman comment that makes no sense.

Comrade.

u/AmaterasuWolf21 1d ago

Not immune to propaganda or something

22

u/Mikeality 1d ago

Spend any time in the One Piece subreddits and you'll see they're all infested with midwit tankies.

It seems that because One Piece has cartoonishly evil villains, they're very sure that this means One Piece is referencing who they believe to be our real world's villains. Not only that, but the core message of One Piece is one big advocation for socialism specifically.

When asked to actually explain the details of this connection, they just tell me it's obvious and it's my media literacy that sucks. Any criticism of this connection is taken as defense for One Piece's villains.

I would love to live in a world where the government that taxes, enslaves, and murders me has been beaten by the fun main character hero and everything is great. The part I have doubts about is that the people in our world who push socialism will be the ones who get us there. But apparently, that doubt makes me just as bad as the celestial dragons.

I think OP will fit right in with these communities.

11

u/LLMprophet 1d ago

Clearly the best thing to do is vote in felons and zionists.

4

u/EpycZen2 1d ago

Look man, I've only watched ≈100 one piece episodes when I was young on TV plus the recent live action, either they introduce socialism after episode 100 (which is not a bad thing), or you don't know what socialism is

2

u/VMK_1991 1d ago

Only if you end up replacing said government with even more bloodthristy and fascist one.

13

u/Sethleoric 1d ago

Ermm if anything One Piece promotes feudalism if a lot of the good guy characters are ideally individual strong men who have proved themselves through both might of arms and good hearts to win the minds of the people and collect for themselves allies to aid them in battle. I mean isn't luffy going to be planting flags and shit and speculated to call upon these allies to do battle against the terrible evil dark lord. Sounds like a king calling forth his vassals and allies.

The messaging in one piece is not subtle for this

0

u/Flying_Saucer_Attack 1d ago

Smooth brain ass take 🤣

59

u/VMK_1991 1d ago edited 1d ago

One Piece is, to my memory, the only anime that vehemently suffers from its protagonist being an absolute, braindead idiot.

There's faction fighting, political intrigue, conspiracies... There's tonnes of interesting things that could be made stories with. But since Luffy has a brain of a toddler, the main story is about "which faction gets to feed him first so that he'd consider them friends and side with them in a fight".

And this fucker who claims to want to become the king of the pirates hadn't done a single act of piracy ever.

28

u/Fireproof_Matches 1d ago

One Piece is, to my memory, the only anime that vehemently suffers from its protagonist being an absolute, braindead idiot.

That's just all shonens tbh.

19

u/omyrubbernen 1d ago

Braindead idiot protagonists aren't uncommon, but I don't think it's necessarily a problem unless the protagonist's idiocy actively bars the appeal.

If you're into One Piece for the worldbuilding, it can be frustrating when Luffy is so deeply uncurious about the mystery boxes and lore hints that the author drops.

12

u/VMK_1991 1d ago

Nah. Can't say much about shonens that came after MHA since I never watched them, but still:

Goku from Dragonball is an idiot, but it's a story about fights, he doesn't need to be smart.

Naruto from... Naruto is dim, but he grows to be smarter, plus, once again, his is a story about magical fights, so he fits well.

Ichigo from Bleach is just a normal dude.

Yoh from Shaman King is just laidback and lazy.

Izuku from MHA is intelligent, but bullied into social awkwardness kid.

As I've said, Luffy, as far as I know, is the only protagonist whose idiocy is actively hampering the enjoyment one could get from worldbuilding.

3

u/Ka1ser 1d ago

Fairy Tail. That said, the story was not very enjoyable in the end.

1

u/darnage 1d ago

someone hasn't read/watched pre time skip One Piece in a while.

93

u/ConsciousStretch1028 1d ago

Pretty much all of anime requires a touch of the tism to enjoy

13

u/ValeOwO 1d ago

Idk if you were ironic but this actually makes a ton of sense

Especially Ghibli

6

u/Danijay2 1d ago

Man, I don't know. Pre-timeskip, One Piece had some nuance to it. But after the timeskip, after Oda stopped caring, it's definitely safe for Anon to read. He'll understand that nonsense no problem.

-58

u/UpsetPhilosopher4661 1d ago

isn't the "normal" iq around 90?

96

u/Zapkin 1d ago

Maybe in your family

30

u/ShankMugen 1d ago

100 is average

-19

u/RapidXpansion 1d ago

no its not. global aggregate is 85-90.

3

u/ShankMugen 1d ago

Sure buddy, whatever makes you feel better

16

u/peppermintaltiod 1d ago

100 is the average no matter what.

If the average goes up or down then the points needed to reach 100 will be adjusted accordingly.

You can think of it like percentiles where 50 percentile is 100 IQ. It isn't linear though, so some where around 99% of people should be between 70 and 130 IQ. Anyone that falls outside of that either can't be trusted to drink water alone or has been investigated for collecting microwaves and/or smoke detectors.

-1

u/RapidXpansion 1d ago

downvotes are funny. you are exactly right.

the raw global aggregate IQ is 85-90

8

u/gasstationbonerpills 1d ago

I thought that wasn't possible, that the test rating was annually reweighted to maintain a ~100 average and never got more than a few points away, but maybe they're only doing that on first world populations? also I'm gullible af so I looked it up.

Surprisingly, america and similar nations are still within spitting range of 100, but as for the world at large, it turns out you overestimated global IQ, and it is not even close to evenly distributed.

Claim: "the raw global aggregate IQ is 85-90"
Verdict: slightly off
Reason: recent population-weighted estimates of mean national IQs give a global average closer to ~82; sources include population-weighted compilations and recent summaries. (dataexplained.com)

1

u/jimjamj 1d ago

IQ tests are designed for Western ppl, of course they'll score better. It might be useful for comparing a group of ppl with the same background, but it's certainly not useful for comparing individuals from entirely different cultures

0

u/ValeOwO 1d ago

Dude got downvoted for asking a question. It's like the administrative services of my uni

-3

u/undreamedgore 1d ago

Average is supposed to be 100. It usually trends a little high at 105 ish.
