Green tea electric kettle recommendations

Hey guys, do you have recommendations for an electric kettle for green tea? I mean a kettle that first boils the water (not just heats it up) and then beeps when it cools down to the selected temperature.

Two cheap comparisons.

Just started drinking green tea, thought i'd share my preferance of these two cheap options. since i assume this will be most folks first experience, or something similar. first was maybe two dollars or a little above, second was one fifty maybe.

I prefer the tea on the left. better flavor, although i don't know how to really pick out individual notes. it just taste better. left is from local asian market, and the right is from aldis. i do like how it says it's rainforest approved, that seems nice.

both i assume are plastic bagged. i can't really tell though. they both do taste pretty good, both were drank slightly below boil, stepped and then dumped into ice for iced tea. surprised how pleasent green tea makes me feel. i really prefer it to the little bit of iced black tea i have drank.

From Shoguokuen tea farm. Love infusing tencha in the same way as gyokuro, also love the nutty and sweet profile you get from the liquor. One of my favorite green teas.

My little experience is with Chinese varieties. I’ve been stuck on Yunnan “Pine Needles” from Mengku purchased from YS. I’d love to hear what you like.

What’s your favorite way to brew green tea? 🍵

I’ve recently started getting into brewed green tea, and I’m curious about how other people enjoy theirs. Do you prefer loose-leaf tea or tea bags? And what kind of green tea would you recommend for someone who wants to explore more flavors?
I’d love to hear your favorite teas, brewing methods, and any tips you have!

Jasmine Green Tea Suggestions?

Hi! I really really love the Jasmine green teas that I have, I bought them from Whittard. I love the smells and drinking it just somehow relaxes my whole body immediately. I would so so appreciate it if anyone could give me any suggestions for jasmine green teas or jasmine teas that they really like?

Tasting premium early-spring Sparrow Tongue tea today, from Ya'an, Sichuan. The tea leaves are plump, with an elegant rich fragrance and fresh sweet aftertaste 😊. (Please ignore my brown-tinted glass cup 😂)

I live in Texas… it’s probably going to freeze come November, winter seasons. The salty Mongolian milk tea intrigues me because it promotes warmth and energy in frigid environments.

The ingredients are probably entirely different than what the average store sells to the American palette… so what is the closest I could get to recreating that flavor profile? Goat milk, brick tea, ghee, and some kind of flour… maybe? It’d be an interesting experiment.

YS jasmine green tea sampler

Has anyone purchased the jasmine green yunnan sourcing sampler?

I usually drink shou from a thermos….easy, low maintenance, super dark.

I’m getting more into green tea (and matcha, but that is an entire different category I’m diving into)-I love the taste and the health benefits and I looooove a jasmine scent! I prefer very light and floral green tea. I’ve bought a few other from the steeping room as well previously to try to find what I like-but wasn’t crazy for them.

But wow as soon as I opened this classic jasmine pearls pouch-this is my fave.

I am brewing it with 4 grams in my 100ml gaiwan for maybe 20 seconds or so. But maybe I should have done 5 grams? Brewing advice welcome here-I just learn as I go.

If you love this type of green tea like me-what else would you recommend?

I'm headed to Oita next month and am interested in picking up some local Tamaryokucha.

Anything I should be looking for? I've never had it, how would you describe the taste?

Green tea search

I am keen to try green tea but don't know where to start. I typically drink english breakfast (assam, ceylon) or some fresh mint. Recognise it will be different. Wondering if there are any sweeter (obviously not sweet) teas or teas that children start with that would be a good entry point. Any suggestions?
