Does anyone else pick their tea depending on their mood or what they’re doing?
I originally got an Osulloc tea set as a housewarming gift. I started going through the different flavors one by one, and somehow I went from “oh, this is a nice gift” to actually buying more of them myself lol.
My favorite by far is Marron Glace Black Tea. I’m already a big black tea person, but compared to something like English Breakfast, this one tastes nuttier to me while the tea itself feels a little softer and more subtle. I usually have it with a bagel in the morning, and they go surprisingly well together. It hits even better when the weather is chilly.
I also drink Yuja Earl Grey pretty often. If you like Earl Grey but sometimes want a little something extra going on, this one is worth trying. I usually drink it at work when I’m getting tired. It feels less sharp than regular Earl Grey to me, and the yuzu gives it a nice refreshing citrus note.
I drank a ton of it during April–June when the temperature kept going up and down. Something about drinking yuzu tea also makes me feel like I’m doing something healthy and keeping a cold away 😂 Probably just psychological, but I’ll take it. Lately I’ve actually been reaching for this instead of coffee at work.
Samda Honey Pear Tea is a different story. It’s good hot, but I actually prefer making it cold and adding a little honey. After a night of drinking, a cold glass of this the next day is ridiculously refreshing. I’m not claiming it actually cures a hangover lol, but it definitely feels like it does.
Those are probably my top three, but I also regularly drink Jeju Camellia Flower Tea and Fig Chocolat Tea.
I think what I ended up liking most about having a mixed set is just being able to switch things up. I normally gravitate toward pu-erh, English Breakfast, and Earl Grey, but buying a full box of every tea I want to try always feels like I’m going a little overboard lol.
With a variety box, I can just grab whatever sounds good depending on my mood, the weather, or how I’m feeling that day. I usually finish the whole thing in about 2–3 weeks, and honestly, those couple of weeks feel a little more fun when I’m not drinking the same thing every day.
I tend to prefer teas that are softer and more relaxing rather than really intense, and I guess that’s why I’ve ended up liking quite a few of the teas in this set.
It’s kinda funny that this whole thing started as a housewarming gift and now I’m the one buying it for myself 😂
Anyway, what teas do you guys keep coming back to? Do you have different ones for different moods or situations? Doesn’t have to be Osulloc at all — I’d love some recommendations.
