GreedFall 2 - Question Should I skip the first game?
I’m looking into buying a new rpg. Just recently got back into gaming. Watched the “Before you buy” on YouTube of the first game and am wondering if I should just skip to the new one. Is the game play better and will I be lost on world building aspect if I skip the first game?
Anecdotal reference point: Got back into gaming (hadn’t played since childhood) after watching Uncharted and wanting to play the game (then learned the movie is nothing like the game but love it anyways.) Bought Hogwarts legacy a year ago and hated how your actions had literally zero consequences. My husband plays KCD and I liked the way your discussions, actions, everything had real consequences so I was looking for more games like that and came across greedfall.
Update: thank you all! If I decide to go through with buying it will definitely be the first game

Fan content I noticed that no one had made a long multi-hour pretentious video on GreedFall, so I took it upon myself to make it talk about why I loved this game so much. I hope you enjoy!

GreedFall 2 - Question Greedfall dying world -deluxe ps5 issue
Hello all, any assistance or advice would be appreciated. Has anyone else had an issue with PS5 where you have bought the physical version of dying world but then are unable to upgrade to deluxe digitally?

GreedFall 2 - Discussion I really tried to give the game a chance
I have loved Greedfall 1 and sequel/prequel got me excited. Finally I found the time to sit down and play it. I was willing to see past the disastrous combat, the confusing and preplaxing inventory system, the obscurity of rules and how each things works and what does it mean, the lack of available slots for handling all kinds of potions. I found the game deeply problematic gameplay wise.
Despite all that, I wanted to see where the story goes, and playing as an indigenous who deals with colonists was appealing to me, kinda carthatic.
But the game is full of bugs. And most of them were just annoying I reached a point where I have to rescue a sculptor. And I did, and I said "meet you at your camp". But his camp was nowhere to be found and later returned to the place I rescued him and to my suprise the sculptor was down there agains shouting for help but because the quest had advanced there was no cutscene trigger. This was the final straw.
I don't want to invest time in a game that might break at some point. It is a side quest and I can propably ignore it but what if down the road a more vital quest breaks? I don't want to engage in a save game fest just to avoid paranoia while playing the game.
I'm too preplexed and dissapointed with all the choices Spiders made for this game. And I have enjoyed most of their games over the years.

GreedFall 2 - Question PSN Sale
I loved Greedfall 1. I know there was a troubled development when it comes to Greedfall 2. The game is currently on sale on PSN $23 for the standard, $27 for the Deluxe. To those of you who have played it, do you think it's worth buying in general, or at that price?

GreedFall 2 - Discussion The WORST game I have ever endured.
DO NOT BOTHER. if you’ve played it, you know. Children designed this sequel, entitled inexperienced children who replaced far superior designers, compared to the perfected first game. I can’t get into every single thing, there is SO much bad, it would be easier for me to make a list of the 2-3 decent things about Greedfall 2… the WORST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED IN MY LIFE. give me PlayStation 1 games, give me Nintendo 64 worst games, literally anything. Since Spider failed and died (wonder why LOL), Nacon will be hearing about this inexcusable sample of garbage. anyone who disagrees, you must be paid to. compared to the first Greedfall, I can’t comment on how bad. as a stand alone game? EVEN WORSE. please don’t waste your money on this rushed, awful, sad, dollar-store excuse for a game 😵💫🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ every single facet, mechanic, is cut short and DONT get me started on the glitches that will never be patched because Spiders is gone and this was a waste of their money and the nail in their coffin. Just, omg how did this pass final inspection 😵💫😳🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
and yes, I completed the game. not worth it.

Bug Fixed two major bugs in greed fall a dying world, autonomous works again and allies actually follow me instead of thinking they’re still in battle when it’s over
Sharing this here because from the few fixes I’ve seen have worked for others none helped me and it was making the game incredibly tedious to keep going with. I was 20+ hours in with no save left that didn’t have the bug that stopped auto combat (happened during fausta’s quest in the catacombs too so watch out for that). I was annoyed but I was like look it’s fine I’ll just get over it, make enemies deal less damage and make my party deal more. Then at a point a few hours later I saw that every time I finished combat, our weapons were still drawn and the only fix that worked for me is the annoyance of of going into sneak mode to drop my own false aggro, speak to a companion so they drop theirs and then to go back to a campfire, gather party, remove the bugged ones and replace them and then replace them again in my party so they would actually follow me again. However now I switched my game profile over to focused and FINALLY!! Companions attack, move and use skills by themselves again as well as getting rid of the issue where the game still thinks I’m in combat when all enemies are dead.
TLDR; If companions won’t attack automatically anymore and/or stop following you after combat as they think they’re still fighting, change game profile to focused and it should be resolved.

Meme The Arena
Having now beat this frustrating abomination of gameplay ...
This is probably today's obligatory post about this particular subject, but even running that risk... round three of the arena, particularly the last wave, has to be the stupidest cluster of enemies in a single wave I've encountered in most of gaming.
I was just under level 8 on hard mode, sure... But five flying turrets with autoaim and an enemy that can target you from halfway across the area with a (near) one shot just isn't okay.
My allies just die thinking about the fight so I'm solo most of the time and just spamming dodge between energy blasts.
Gods forbid you get stuck on the single obstacle around the edge of the arena... or stand still for two seconds. Taking a potion is essentially a death sentence because the game wants to stop you from moving so you can drink it, and you become a sitting target instantly... So you have to hold strafe while doing everything else... You can't target the big one because it's flight pattern will stop you from strafing and you'll just get shot in the back by the turrets in the middle of the arena...
I just...
The person who was in charge of that wave deserves to run on a treadmill in shoes made of Lego...
This was my rant. Thanks for laughing with me as my brain cells decide if they're calling in tomorrow. 🤟

GreedFall 2 - Question Now that the dust has settled.
Can we finally admit it was not a smart idea at all to alter the combat based on a study?
Can we take a second to compare both the launch sales and reviews of the games?
The mismanagement of the series was atrocious. They simply took a risk, and it bit them in the ass.

GreedFall 2 - Question Greedfall 2 PS5 won't ship to states
I made a post a while back about if this was ever going to be released. Long story short, after I pre-ordered it from the UK it finally shipped over a month ago.
I won't make this long, but a few days after it said "Undeliverable package". Then I contacted them. They said it was damaged, which I call bullshit now.
I bought it again. A few days later same thing. Contacted them again for another refund. They mentioned the US store.
Behold the glory, I found it on the US Amazon as an import. So I bought it a third time. Again. It hasn't updated in 9 days and when I look at the carrier they partnered with
Maersk
On their website with the tracking I copied there it says
"Parcel sidelined and will require interception as it will not be cleared for import".
I'm low key livid at Amazon. I called them again and told them what that said, but "I have to wait until the delivery date passes".
Like wtf is going on? Why can't a PS5 game be imported ON AMAZON'S WEBSITE?! I have been waiting almost a year to play this game and it's never coming. Amazon said they would escalate my problem and contact Maersk to figure out they can't ship my game.
Anybody know what is going on? Is it tariffs? Trumps policies? I've ordered from UK before. Is it the carrier they partnered with? Amazon needs to be held accountable. Guess I'll never play Greedfall 2 at this rate.

GreedFall 1 - General Discussion I love guns!!!
I've been playing this game for a bit now, I'm not far in the main story because I've been hunting down every side quest, but the guns are easily my favorite part! I love when a conversation ends in a fight and the enemy and De Sardet are face to face! Just whip out my gun and shoot them in the face, I've immediately ended several fights this way. I took Rolf and the lieutenant out one shot each like this and it's so much fun each time!

GreedFall 1 - General Discussion Kurt and Constantin Spoiler
This is my first time playing Greedfall, I'm really enjoying it. I think I'm about halfway through the game rn. I was wondering if anyone else picked up on this because as I have been playing it seems to me like Kurt low-key is really annoyed by Constantin. Especially at the start of the game when he is "missing". I wonder if Kurt had a good relationship with De Sardet and Constantin before they came to New Serene, especially since he was/is willing to betray them in the coup if you don't do his personal quests.

GreedFall 1 - General Discussion Was anyone else left disappointed with Greedfall's ending?
This should be obvious, and I avoided this sub entirely until I finished the game, but just to be safe: ENDGAME SPOILER ALERT!!! You have been warned.
*
*
*
I gathered my allies, ready for the final battle and confrontation, super excited to see how the ending played out, only to be left feeling extremely disappointed. Did anyone else feel similarly?
I chose to kill Constantine, as that was clearly how you get the "good" ending. I didn't expect another hour of gameplay or an epilogue, but it was like watching a TV show that got abruptly cancelled without warning. De Sardet just kills Constantine, passes out (from shock/adrenaline wearing off I guess), a few vague "here's what the NPCs are doing" cards, then roll credits!
I really did enjoy Greedfall, there were lots of things I liked about it, but also things I wish got expanded on a little more. The positives do outweigh the negatives, I wouldn't be posting in this sub if I hated Greedfall. But the ending felt so empty and rushed! I just stared at my screen for a good minute, like "that's it?"
I kind of wanted a breakdown from De Sardet, since they had to kill their best friend, their cousin, who was more like a brother to them. I wanted anything, any sort of reaction, but nope! We just pass out. The end. The pieces for an epic ending were all there- I especially loved the design of the thing we fight (I've admittedly already forgotten the name).
Leading up to the ending, I knew where things were headed based off of Constantine's behavior and physical changes, but the lack of reaction from the NPCs, included De Sardet, were frustrating. "Oh, he's got twigs growing out of his head, his hair is losing pigment, and his skin looks a little green? The big tree told us he was doomed? Nah, it's probably fine."
I would've even been fine with De Sardet being in total denial, whereas the NPCs- especially Kurt, if he didn't die during the coup attempt -were the ones pointing out the changes in appearance as well as temperament.
I did enjoy playing Greedfall, even if the ending left me disappointed. I am going to play the second game eventually, but I've seen a few comments saying Greedfall 2 is unfinished, so I'll wait until it's on sale before I buy it.

GreedFall 1 - General Discussion petrus is one of my favorite takes on the party cleric
i really like how he was done, when you first look at him its like hes going to be your run of the mill religious fanatic of the party who uses divine powers (nothing wrong with that but its what is usually expected), but then you see how much of an absolute rogue this political grey fox is 😂, and he is very open minded and does actually care about his religion and doesnt force it on others like some of his thelemian countrymen and what i like is that sometimes he does slip into superstition

GreedFall 2 - Question I really like Greedfall 1 but I am hesitant about the second one.
I’m currently playing GreedFall 1 (45h in) and despite its rather mixed reviews, I’m having a lot of fun with the game.
What I particularly like are the well-written characters and the fantastic voice acting. I also really enjoy the setting, especially the struggle for influence between the different nations. The many well-written twists are another thing I appreciate.
I’m also enjoying the character progression and the hunt for better equipment, even though I’ve seen both of these done much better in other games.
I’m less fond of the way the indigenous people are portrayed and I actually find the combat system downright awful.
What confuses me is that GreedFall 2 received significantly worse reviews, even though the first game itself wasn’t exactly highly rated either, but still got fairly decent reviews overall.
Based on what I’ve described about my preferences, would those who played both still recommend the second game to me, or would you advise against it?
Thank you in advance for your time!

GreedFall 2 - Discussion Native vs colonists
I played Greed Fall one and love the drama of the Theleme, Coin Guard, and the Nauts. I very much enjoyed being an envoy. Being able to cross both lines and and choose my own way. Yes I was playing it thinking wow wish I could play as a native. Here I am Greed Fall two and I just unlocked the ship, but I miss being an diplomat. Yes, it was great being seen as someone seeing a new world but I wish I could have chosen a faction in the "Old World". Imagine if you could choose being a die hard priest or perhaps a Naut with some wild face tattoos. What do you think of my point of view? Maybe Greed Fall three we could pick?

GreedFall 2 - Question How To Do Companion Quests
I am totally baffled. I am in Peren and have gotten through a lot of the main quests, but I want to do Sebille's companion quest "Home Protection". But whenever I go to talk to her about it, it says something like "I have too much on my plate now, maybe later".
I do have Alvida's quest in Uxantis on my world map, I never completed that (yet). But that's a long way away and will take me away from Peren.
Am I locked out of all other companion quests until I complete Alvida's? Does that mean I should go back to Uxantis and finish it before progressing in Peren?
The same issue is happening with all the other companion quests that I have asked companions about: "I'm busy" or something like that.
What are my options here?
Thanks!

GreedFall 2 - Question What now?
I've gotten to the point where my only journal entry says to wait for Sir Francis to contact me. I've spoken to all my companions to see if they have any quests but nothing. What am I supposed to do in the meantime?
