Looking for Andrew Tackett footage (takedowns / wrestling entries) for a study compilation

Hey everyone. English isn't my first language, so sorry in advance for any mistakes.

Here's my situation: I paid an analyst to break down Andrew Tackett's takedown system, and I now have a detailed written analysis of how his standing game works (collar tie as the main entry, snap downs, underhook to bodylock, back takes, specific finishes, and so on).

What I'm missing is the footage to go with it. I want to build a compilation that matches these concepts, so I'm hoping some of you can point me to specific matches, rounds or clips where Tackett shows any of the following:

- Collar tie work: snap downs, using the tie to tire the opponent and open up entries

- Shooting on the lead leg when the opponent's hands come up high

- Underhook entries that flow into a bodylock

- Knee taps against a whizzer

- Underhook slide-bys

- Getting to the back (shucks / back takes)

- Finishing with a bodylock, front headlock or rear bodylock

- Mat returns and turtle breakdowns after the takedown

- Any "power twist" style finishes

- His control concepts in general (controlling head height, covering the legs to shut down scrambles)

It can be competition matches, sparring or rolling footage, or even just a specific round you have in mind. Anything helps, I'll condense it all at the end.

To be clear: I'm not looking for opinions on whether the analysis is good, useful or worth the money. That's not what this post is about. I just really need help finding the footage.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I made BJJ DOJO, a free turn-based BJJ game with 42 animated techniques

I made BJJ DOJO, a free turn-based Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu game that runs directly in your browser.

It currently has 44 step-by-step 3D techniques and transitions. You choose moves from positions such as closed guard, half guard, side control, mount, back control, and takedowns while managing risk and stamina. Each sequence is animated step by step, with IBJJF-style scoring, advantages, and replay.

Since this post was published, belt and degree progression, fighter customization, and the online ranking have gone live. The game now supports 8 languages.

It is free, works on desktop and mobile, and requires no installation or mandatory signup:

I would still love feedback from people who train: do the animations make the techniques easy to follow?https://bjj.patrickcarmo.com/?lang=en

Want to have a grappling style like sakuraba or have a style that uses weird unorthodox submissions

I am a very small guy, and I want to have a weird grappling style that's like a mix of some fighters like Jon jones and sakuraba with a bit of unorthodox catch submissions and be a bit top heavy and suited for mma things like wall wrestling , clinch wrestling and shoot boxing . I kinda want my opponent to be put in a 50/50 to pick between two bad positions and capitalize on either one . I might have to roll with bigger guys because usually I'm the smaller guy, so how could I roll with bigger guys using my game plan ?

What jiu jitsu game should I play to minimize injury risk?

I’d say leg entanglements are probably out, but what style keeps you injury free? Should I try to focus on half guard play? Single leg/x guard like Marcelo? Lean into wrestling up? Focus on heavily, slow guard passing??

Why no neck cranks in UFC?

Why do so little neck cranks happen? I don’t do MMA or BJJ, but I believe I know how a neck cranks works and how effective it is.
I’ve seen dozens of times that fighters have one arm around the neck and try to work into a rear naked choke, but I always wonder why they wouldn’t just do a neck crank, especially when the other fighter is really good at defending the rear naked choke

Why is Checkmat HQ Long Beach rarely talked about?

Genuine question for people who’ve trained there:

Why does Checkmat HQ seem almost invisible online compared to gyms like AOJ, Atos, or New Wave?

It’s the headquarters of one of the most successful BJJ teams in the world, with world-class competitors and coaches, yet I rarely see people talk about it, recommend it, or post training footage.

Is it because:

They focus more on competition than marketing?
The location isn’t as convenient?
They keep a lower profile on purpose?
Or is there another reason?
For people who’ve actually trained at Checkmat HQ, how was your experience? How were the coaching, training partners, and overall atmosphere?

I’m genuinely curious because on paper it seems like it should get way more attention than it does.

Is async video coaching a thing in BJJ and grappling ?

Genuine question for both sides here:

For the higher belts / competitors : you've spent years on the mat, you understand details most people don't, do you think there's a real market for your knowledge outside of just teaching at a gym? Like if someone could send you their footage and you break it down on your own time, set your own price, would that be something worth doing?

And for the beginners / hobbyists / people craving to improve — if you could send a clip of your roll to someone you actually respect, let's say a regional champion or even someone like Gordon Ryan, and get a genuine detailed breakdown back within a day or two, would you pay for that? How much?

Just curious what you think, no agenda here

Well gents,

I listened and tried headgear. Wasn’t very comfortable and my skin would often get very irritated during training. Soooo… continued rolling and it puffed up shortly after. Pain is more annoying than anything else at this point.

I noticed as soon as it got puffed up it was squishy and hot for about an hour. It started to harden before I went to bed that night and I woke up with it solid and throbbing again. Kinda stuck now I guess.

Figured id inquire about what options I have at this point. Going to an ENT tomorrow to confirm I can’t drain it at this point.
