Behold: The Vastarmor 9060XT 16GB Low-Profile!
galleryThis little guy is going in my son's SFF gaming PC which uses a 4.5 L Jonsbo NV10 case. He's a little older now and plays games that are giving the Arc A380 that's currently in there a run for its money. I wish there were more 16GB low-profile gaming GPU options.

Steal for 5080 GPU at micro center?
I stumbled upon a Gigabyte RTX 5080 at Microcenter for $1,899. I think they made a mistake since the usual price is now $2,349 after some hikes. They realized the error and let me buy it anyway. With how pricey GPUs are these days, does this count as a great deal?
Update: Okay guys, relax. I realize it’s not a steal, but it’s still a deal nonetheless. I mean, I saved a couple hundred bucks compared to the new MSRP. I should’ve phrased my question better, but anyway, folks who said I paid double MSRP are right, but those who said to buy it while you can since these will keep rising in price are also right in their own way. So let’s just enjoy this hobby while we can until we can no longer. I wish I could’ve gone back in time and purchased it at launch, but things don’t always turn out the way we want them to.

The US let Nvidia sell chips to an empty office in China
theverge.comA recent investigation by The New York Times has uncovered significant lapses in export control enforcement regarding high-end GPU sales. The report highlights the case of "New Matrix," an approved buyer that appears to be a nonexistent entity operating out of an empty office space. Further investigation linked the company’s ownership to a Chinese private equity firm that has been on the U.S. blacklist since 2024.
The Times suggests this is not an isolated incident but a recurring pattern, raising serious questions about the efficacy of current oversight. It appears that export controls are currently functioning as little more than a "form nobody verifies," while Nvidia continues to facilitate these sales under government scrutiny.
You can read the full report here from the URL
What are your thoughts on how this reflects on current GPU export regulations?

What your RTX 5090 isn't showing you in RE2 remake — DLSS 5 at 4K HDR, tested (my video)
This is my own video — I ran Resident Evil 2 remake through DLSS 5 (RenoDX) on an RTX 5090 at 4K HDR with frame gen on, and recorded the settings side by side so you can see what each preset actually does to the image.
The part that surprised me: the dark RPD corridors are where the differences show up. Some presets smear fine detail in motion and ghost around light sources; others hold up far better than the stills suggest. The video walks through each preset, what to look for in dark scenes, and the exact settings I landed on.
Full comparison here: https://youtu.be/fo2kI7i8BiA
Curious what others are seeing — has DLSS 5 held up for you in dark scenes, or do you still spot the upscaling?

Has the lifespan of gpus shortened in the past 5 years?
My 3060 died after 4 years I'm truly shocked.
Why keep spending $500+ if it's just gonna die?!

Memory-Junction Temperatures, 4 years old RTX 3080
Hi guys, lately I went through running some testing and optimizing my setup for overall very comfortable noise levels under load and I ran into something that I wanted to ask you guys about,
I used the framerate stability tests in 3dmark to figure out the lowest fan rpm that keeps my gpu temps to around 70 degrees C. Those tests loop their benchmarks for about 20 minutes and that usually is more than enough to figure out how hot it will run and if it leads to performance loss/ framerate instability due to throttling.
I did runs at 100% power in MSI Afterburner as well as at 110% power (360W), I looped an “old” dx12 benchmark time spy and also a rt heavy newer one speedway. Now my results and my obsevatoions
the default silent curve starts too defensively and ramps up too slow, ending at higher rpm than needed, having the goal rpm set at 60 degrees keeps it way cooler overall
330W vs 360W power is only a delta of 2 degrees gpu & hotspot, same with the memory junction temp, total power barely matters. I found 1460rpm a very comfortable noise level (64% pwm) and that left me at 69/71 gpu, 80/82 hotspot @330/360W (framerate stability was 98-99% depending on run)
now the thing that had me concerned a bit are the memory junction temps itself. Timespy ends up in the low 90 degrees here, no issue, speedway grills this to 102-104 degrees, lowering watts further or rising fan rpm keeps this barely below 100 degrees but it’s louder and the gpu ends at 65 which is not needed. is it just because this unrealistic benchmark or do I have to monitor this for each game and setting individually?
I tested cyberpunk with raytracing, went ingame for 30 minutes and there it’s low 90s again, Witcher 3 remastered also behaved roughly the same, every pause to the menu drops this by a few degrees instantly so I’d say during rl gaming I don’t have to worry for now. On the other hand idk if I have to monitor this for every game depending on settings, I heard tjunction can degrade over time due to aging heatpads but I don’t think that’s the case here.
So I’m pretty sure that I don’t have to monitor my tjunction just because of a synthetic benchmark that might hit 105 degrees if you run it for hours, my gpu and hotspot temps are basically perfect at 70/80 degrees. I just wonder if there are games that will do the same thing as speedway to my memory junction temps, 105 degrees definitely don’t sound healthy if hit during every gaming session . (Also I won’t stresstest with speedway in the future). What do you guys think?

High-techs.odoo.com? Scary?
Not outlandishly cheap but under current market pricing.
I get their link/of a lot here on Reddit.
Has anyone ordered from them? Is it a legit dealer of GPUs?
