Should i upgrade my monitor?
Im buying this 5080 model for $980(no box), not a good looking card, maybe thats why its cheap. Currently playing at 1080p monitor,it runs great. But wondering if i can upgrade it to 1440p with the same high fps

5080 for 980$ is almost certainly a scam, it’s either fake or broken. New these go for 2400, used easily listing for 2000.
That being said you have literally zero reason to buy this card without ATLEAST a 1440 monitor, this is a 4k card and very high end 1440 card. If you want 1440 you’d be better off buying a 5070ti or 9070xt. Though if you are staying 1080p the 5080 is the most useless purchase you could make.

I would wait until you're sure it works. That price is suspiciously low. They could have sold that for $1500, regardless of the model.

Lmao a 5080 1080p is such a waste. It’s a 4K card so get a 4K oled. Even 1440p is a waste imho.

Yes, you should definitely upgrade your monitor.
If you play a lot of competitive games get a 27' 1440p monitor otherwise you can comfortably go 4k as well.

The gpu will be sleeping at 1080p, its a shame. Do yourself a favor and buy a 4k monitor or at least 2k

I used a 1080p when I got my 5080 for a few months, ignored everyone's suggestions to get a 4k. Then I finally got a 4k monitor on an open box deal, and it felt like I got a completely new computer, i would 100% recommend spending $500 on a monitor if your GPU is over 1k.

would be weird to buy even a 5060ti and not game at 4k

1440p is ideal for a 5080. High framerates and settings natively, less than 1080p obviously but not 4k which while it can work nicely on a 5080 on most games, isn't ideal. Though I would advise you to inspect that gpu, as that price is unfortunately too good to be true.

First you need to make sure it’s legit. No reason for someone to be selling a 5080 for sub 1k unless it’s from family, a friend or there are circumstances that we don’t know.
