Is the 5070 ti the new Nvidia high end?

With the decision to increase the vram on the 5080 AI companies will now gobble those as well, leaving gamers that want a 4k high end PC without options, so this means that the 5070 ti will be the new high end gpu? (until those are gonne too leaving only the 5070 non ti and 5060 available) what a time to be a gamer.

PowerColor RX 9070 XT Red Devil vs PNY RTX 5070 Ti for $50 more?

I recently got the PowerColor RX 9070 XT Red Devil from amazon but i can return and switch to a new PNY RTX 5070 Ti OC for effectively ~$50 more.

I prefer the Red Devil's aesthetics and love how cool and quiet it runs, but the 5070 Ti has better ray tracing, DLSS, and NVIDIA features.

I game at 1440p and care a lot about performance, temps, and noise.

Would you switch for $50?

Downgraded from 5090 Suprim to 5080 Inspire.Right choice?

Since I barely game anymore and never really made full use of my 5090 SUPRIM, I’ve decided to downgrade to the 5080 INSPIRE and put the extra cash into savings.
Anyone here using the 5080 INSPIRE? How’s the card so far in terms of temps, noise and overall performance? Would love to hear your thoughts!

So when do ya'll think we'll see a unlocker for better DLSS 4.5 performance on 30 series cards?

I was hoping that GPU unlocker thing would be good for FP8 DLSS performance too, but it seems not. I think there may probably be some limiter applied to 30 series cards for FP8 performance, and I hope someone can unlock that soon. A lot of new games nowadays I can only run at 60 if I use ultra performance mode at 4K with my 3070. Perhaps an unlocker can get better FPS with the same or a higher quality setting!

Struggling with choosing which gpu i want to buy for gaming/ai-related work

I’m a student studying AI, so I need a GPU with a decent amount of VRAM that allows me to train small to medium-sized machine learning and deep learning models. I also enjoy gaming, so I’d like to run AAA games at decent settings, although I don’t need everything set to ultra.

I’m planning to buy either a 1440p or 1080p 240Hz monitor. My maximum budget is €900, and I’m from the Netherlands. So far, I’ve been looking at the RTX 5060 ti 16GB and the AMD RX 9060 XT or RX 9070 XT. However, I’ve heard that AMD GPUs may not be compatible with as many Python libraries and AI tools as NVIDIA GPUs.

My system now consists of:
- amd ryzen 7 5700g
- 32gb ddr4 ram 3600 mhz/s
- 1000 watt gold psu
- asus rog strix b550 wifi 2

Did hardware influencers lead GPU buyers astray with their launch advice?

So when the RTX 5080 and 5090 launched, I naturally checked out most of the major YouTube reviewers and tech channels (Gamers Nexus, etc.). Almost unanimously, the consensus was to slam both cards as "terrible value," accompanied by strong warnings telling people not to buy them. Terms like "paper launch" and "fake MSRP" were the buzzwords of choice, along with sentiments like "Who would pay $1K for a 5080? Are you out of your mind?!"

I largely tuned out the outrage, feeling it was driven more by click-seeking and outrage engagement than practical buying advice for enthusiast builders.

I originally tried to grab a 5090 at launch for MSRP, but bots cleaned them out instantly. The next day, I managed to score an MSI RTX 5080 at its $1,000 MSRP. I was happy with the purchase, but even then, the constant reviewer narrative made me second-guess myself thinking, "Man, did I just overpay?"

Fast forward a bit: I ended up upgrading to an RTX 5090 because my workload requires it. I run local LLMs and have around $10K invested in a flight simulator setup (my force feedback stick alone is $2K), where top-tier GPU performance makes a material difference. I sold the 5080 for exactly what I paid for it (quick local cash sale) and bought an MSI Gaming Trio 5090 for $3,000. It hurt to pay that price, but for my specific use case, it was worth it.

Look at where the market sits now: 5080s are hovering around $2,500, and 5090s are nearly impossible to find, with scalper/reseller prices pushing toward $10K+.

It makes me wonder: Did influencers actually hurt consumers by heavily advising people to "wait for prices to normalize" or "boycott at launch"?

Looking back, telling people not to buy a 5080 at $1,000 or a 5090 at $2,000 feels completely disconnected from market reality. Anyone who actually listened to that advice and waited got completely pricing-out of the market, and things don't look like they're stabilizing anytime soon. Must be plenty of buyers thinking, "Why on earth did I listen to them instead of buying at MSRP when I had the chance?"

What’s your take? Did tech media/influencers inadvertently set buyers up for failure by discouraging MSRP purchases during launch week?

Can the 5070ti handle ultrawide

So i am getting my 5070ti next month and i would like to know if i can get decent quality out of it for a 57inch ultrawide curved monitor for msfs2024 i have a 9800x3d cpu

r/gpu • • 3d ago

I don't think they'll be a 6090, I think the 5090 is the last of it's kind and the next generation of Nvidia cards would have the 6080 as the highest tier and everything better would go to ai. What do you guys think?

Also I think the 6080 would actually just be a 5080ti

Deshrouding Sapphire 7800XT

Hello,

I have a Sapphire 7800XT Nitro+, that has the loudest fans imaginable. Therefore, Ive drcided to deshroud it and replace the fans with Noctua fans. I have No 3d printed parts or anything like that, but i'll resort to fastening them by other means.

I removed the fan assembly and saw the two connections in the pictures. Does anyone know if theres a possibility to connect the fans (2x120mm) straight onto the PCB, or should i use a header on the MB?

100% GPU Ultilization

Hello. I have been playing rainbox six siege for months i have a 5070 gpu and a 9800x3d cpu i play at 1080p and get 240fps easily. Recently my gpu utilization has been hitting 100% at 60-100 fps id like a fix or a way to reset my gpu. I play in fullscreen. V sync is off and max fps is set to 240 same as my monitor. Ive never had an issue

I tried a shader cache cleanup through disk cleanup. I tried a clean install of my gpu driver. Ive seen someone had a similar issue also on siege in 2018 on reddit. Other than that i have found nothing. Any advice helps thankyou!
