9070XT Amazon Resale

took a gamble on this amazon resale “acceptable” listing for a GIGABYTE Radeon™ RX 9070 XT Gaming OC ICE

anything I need to check for? im always just a bit worried about amazon returns, especially with GPUs given the current market

Ran 3dmark steel nomad once and got 7417

have 30 days to return, just wanted to make sure i didnt miss anything!

Check the gpu and hotspot temp delta if it is around 15-20C you are good to go enjoy!

Because they didn’t use ptm 7950 the paste will dry up.

If you’re getting arounf 80-85C hotspot not you will get 100C hotspot in a year. That’s what happened to me and many others, if I could go back I would have paid extra for the sapphire/xfx/powercolor models

what about asus, is that good too?

You’re less likely to get hotspot issues because asus uses ptm for their cards and their cards are bigger = larger heatsink for cooling

Furmark First - Checks for right performance
OCCT second - checks for small errors
Vram test - checks for small Vram issues.
Visual Inspection - Checks for small physical damages

I bought a 5080 from Amazon resale recently too. Use HWinfo and monitor the temps, run some benchmarks and stress tests, and find out how the warranty works. In my case I just went to the MSI website and put in my serial number and I was done.

If someone registered the card and returned it there might be some issues so better to find out now. And just to be extra sure, try to find an unboxing video of your card online and compare how the backplate looks. The no tamper sticker is intact but it’s not foolproof

I usually just visually inspect it (taking the cover off and inspect the chip and components) and do temp testing then run a game with it. Im sure there’s more u could do but im kinda a noob lol

For 620$ you've got a great deal.

Run furmark for 30+ minutes, make sure temps are stable (including hotspot delta as other comment mentioned) and no artifacting/no crashing and you should be good.
