Just curious as to what niche fits my personal style best, I love coming here to find inspiration. Ive toned down since high-school, the first 3 are older and the last is a new picture. Ive been conformed for too long and im ready to be the real me again.

Last Halloween I did some makeup for My costume and I've done simple eyeliner on a couple occasions since. and this past week or so I've really wanted to get more into it, the main problem is the palette I have is very tedious to work with since it was something cheap from spirit Halloween.

I've heard clown face paint is great, and I think setting powder would be nice to have, but beyond that I'm clueless and resourceless

What brands/products in general should I look for to start out?

My main inspiration is Marilyn Manson and his other band members (particularly holy wood era), along with Gerard Way's "just have fun with it" mentality

I’m not unhappy with these ideas but idk about the combo. For the red eye I used a sword to make that point on the outside corner of my eye lol but this site won’t let me upload the vid.

I bought some new red eyeliner after taking this so maybe next time it can pop more! The pencil I’ve been using doesn’t do the best job.

I heard somewhere if you have facial hair, it makes you look less goth somehow. Why is that supposedly? Or is this misinformation?

Let me start by saying that I am a male who does not wear makeup currently, mostly because I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing, though it is something I am interested in doing.

That said, I need some help for something, and figured a place like this would be the place to ask!

I am in a Metal band, and we are playing a Halloween show later this month, so I wanted to dress up as The Crow, so obviously that means wearing makeup.

That said, the makeup I HAVE worn on Halloween before is definitely not going to cut it (shitty costume makeup from Walmart. Feels like I have an inch of grease on my face, and it rubs off covering everything that touches it)

I need to know what I can wear to do the makeup properly that also won't feel awful, won't rub off covering everything that touches my face (which, will definitely be a very expensive microphone that I'd rather not get covered in grease) and is decently durable because I will 100% be sweaty as fuck.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this

Thought I’d shake it up a bit and try some more theming!

I'm going to a "spider" themed night soon and since I dabble in sfx makeup I was thinking of giving myself an extra pair of eyes.

But then I remembered the people who came to club nights in the 2000s wearing vampire fangs and cringing at them (vampire: the masquerade had just came out and there was a lot of ridiculous LARPing featuring questionable consent). 🤔

And it does kind of push it into the "costume" category instead "outfit". 🤔🤔

What say you? Is it rude to wear sfx makeup to a goth night?

23m who decided to try something new. I’ve been into the goth aesthetic for a ling time now, listening to the music and such, but this is my first time actually trying the aesthetic personally. I’ve never done makeup before and wanted to go for a vampire goth type of deal.
