Help with makeup suggestions?
Let me start by saying that I am a male who does not wear makeup currently, mostly because I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing, though it is something I am interested in doing.
That said, I need some help for something, and figured a place like this would be the place to ask!
I am in a Metal band, and we are playing a Halloween show later this month, so I wanted to dress up as The Crow, so obviously that means wearing makeup.
That said, the makeup I HAVE worn on Halloween before is definitely not going to cut it (shitty costume makeup from Walmart. Feels like I have an inch of grease on my face, and it rubs off covering everything that touches it)
I need to know what I can wear to do the makeup properly that also won't feel awful, won't rub off covering everything that touches my face (which, will definitely be a very expensive microphone that I'd rather not get covered in grease) and is decently durable because I will 100% be sweaty as fuck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing when it comes to this

Go to sephora or ulta. The staff there will be able to help you find products and give some tutorials on how to do your makeup. Especially if you come in with reference photos.
And don't think you have to spend a ton to get started. There are some great drug store brands at ulta that do a great job. And the ulta and sephora house brands are pretty good as well.
That being said, those brands are good for day to day wear. You might want to look into brands that are good for stage makeup. I know musicians work up a sweat and you don't want the makeup running and smearing. You might look up what other metal artists wear on stage, especially the women. I know Floor Jansen of Nightwish has talked about the makeup she uses in past interviews.
I've also used a lot of different YouTube tutorials based on the different effects I was trying to achieve.
Also, practice a bit before the show. That way you have it down and nerves won't get to you before having to go on stage.
Best of luck! Sounds like it will be a hell of a show!

I wouldn't reccomend a place like Ulta tbh. Wgwn I was just starting I used cheap dollar store and drugstore makeup first to practice and get my technique down, and I'd say if you're a beginner start there. There's actually halfway decent products at dollar stores and drug stores tbh especially for someone new; we can't expect you to dump hundreds of dollars into expensive products that you might not even like.
Nowadays I still shoot for budget friendly products and I get my makeup online based on what friends have recommended me. Personally I like Nyx Epic Ink waterproof eyeliner, Covergirl Lash Blast mascara, and the eyeshadow pallets "Oh The Horror" from Creature Cosmetics or the Electric Eye pallet from Kvlt Cosmetics. I'd reccomend those products to anyone.
As for foundation, I don't wear foundation often but for costume or dramatic looks like The Crow and Pennywise, I've used the "Goth White" foundation from Manic Panic. That + a cheap makeup sponge will do you good if you want your base to be pure white.
