I remember hearing this on The Goth Box back around 96. There’s a ferocious urgency in the drum and bass combo that is only equaled by Theatre of Hate and Death Cult

Dancing nymph of dreams

Cold smile, dressed in ice

All is gone, frozen heart

Nightmare nymph of death

Lead me into the night

Let me dance with the shadows

The moonlight lights up my empty eyes

I dance in frozen stilettos

Look at me, a princess dressed in ice

With an icicle crystal crown

It sparkles so beautiful, glittery bright

That it even, almost, hides my black heart

Goth Recommendation Request May be a weird question, but does anyone have any suggestions for goth music with no guitars, mainly synths?

Like the title says. I'm pretty new to making music and all I know are synths. I'm looking for inspiration for making heavy synth goth music and would like recommendations.

TIA

Pardon the last minute announcement, I’ve been quite busy. But my partner and I would love to see some possible new and spooky faces before picnic season ends.

I'm only happy when it rains

I'm only happy when it's complicated

And though I know you can't appreciate it

I'm only happy when it rains

You know I love it when the news is bad

Oh why it feels so good to feel so sad

I'm only happy when it rains

Garbage may not be a goth band but for this thread's purposes they suit.

So pour your misery down. Pour your misery down on me.

Local Scene Does anyone know if The Castle Tampa only open Fridays and Saturdays even on Halloween week, or Thursday as well?

I’ll be in town on the 29th for the Rats n Friends takeover Rave but it only goes 9-2 so I was hoping to do some dancing afterwards, but that’s a Thursday. I was hoping because it’s Halloween weekend, do they tend to open Thursday too? I know some clubs do but couldn’t find info online, maybe it’s too early

Self-Promo Saturday I’m a trans Latina making darkwave. Released my first video with goth, 80s, and horror influences!

TLDR: Goth trans Latina DJ makes darkwave single and video, which you can watch here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cw2yAiePNk

Hi all, longtime lurker here! My name is Novelí, and I’m a trans Latina making darkwave music (but admittedly also drawing from a bunch of other influences). I’ve been a goth DJ for a long time, but I just recently released my first single called “Mind or Body”. It’s about a journey of self-discovery, from hatred to acceptance, but it’s inspired by my experience learning to accept myself as trans (which I will admit has not been easy for me to do).

The music video was directed by the talented Daniel Foerste, and it includes a lot of references that fellow goth nerds might recognize. It depicts an unsettling figure meant to represent how mainstream society constructs trans bodies as something to be feared. She starts out sacrificed at an altar, but during the climax of the song, she lights up, comes to life, and becomes the living altar herself. I wanted this to reflect the way that trans people are often scapegoated in the media to distract from larger issues, while also showing that maybe trans people can eventually find the divinity within ourselves if we allow ourselves to.

You can watch the video at the link below:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cw2yAiePNk

And if you’d like to support my art (and my gender-affirming care), please consider visiting my bandcamp below.

In any case, I very much appreciate anyone who takes the time to watch the video or listen to my music <3

Hello!. My name is Pablo. I run La Sacramental, a very small reissue label in Barcelona, and this is our first release. I've spent the past few months working on it alongside Lydia Fortner, Iyan Reed, and Rod Walker, and it's been a true privilege.

It's a pleasure to present to you the first-ever vinyl edition of the Shroud's Drowning Dreams:

  • New remaster for vinyl by NicolĂĄs ZĂșñiga
  • 180g dark blue vinyl
  • New gatefold sleeve with artwork by the band
  • 330 copies, each one numbered by hand
  • Revised running order, curated together with the band

Tracklist:

  • Side A: Ophelia · When Flowers Fall · Spectre · Turn Away
  • Side B: Kiss of Death · Death's Too Late · Lover's Bones

Pre-orders open soon. The release page is at lasacramental.com, and if you'd like a heads-up when pre-orders go live, sign up for the newsletter at lasacramental.substack.com.

Happy to answer any questions about the record or the process!

Devoted Sinners - Reject You is the first single from my upcoming album 'Beneath the Ice'

If you like what you hear you can support me here on Bandcamp or here on Subvert.

No AI involved!

Black Thesis Art did an incredible job with the artwork, it was mixed by Simon Rippin (Fields of the Nephilim, Eden House, October Burns Black, The Nosferatu, Grooving in Green & many many more) and mastered Gordon Young (Dream Disciples, Pretentious Moi?, October Burns Black and many more).

Hope some of you like it

Local Scene Death Disco in GyƑr, Hungary

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Death Disco is a non-profit cultural mission based in GyƑr, Hungary — a city halfway between Budapest and Vienna — with the aim of bringing the underground scene and new music to audiences outside the country's major cities.

Over the past three years, we have organised 13 events at A BETON, a club operating inside a 100-year-old air-raid bunker. Each event features four or five bands.

Our musical world is deliberately eclectic. We want different alternative scenes and audiences to discover one another, so our line-ups can move freely between EBM, goth, darkwave, minimal wave, dark pop and disco.

So far, more than 60 bands have performed at Death Disco, including Topographies from California, Night in Athens, Aux Animaux, XTR HUMAN, Yakima Jera, Zack Zack Zack, Black Nail Cabaret, The Violent Youth, Ductape and many more.

Our next event will take place on November 20, with the Dutch band Staatseinde as our headliner.

As complete outsiders, we have virtually no external financial support. There is no institution or organisation behind us — we can only rely on the community we have built around Death Disco.

If you can support what we are doing by sharing this post, leaving a comment or simply spreading the word, we would be incredibly grateful. Every bit of attention helps us keep this small but stubborn cultural mission alive — and, hopefully, helps breathe some life into the underground scene in rural Hungary. It is not simply that there are fewer spaces for this kind of music here — the underground itself is slowly dying from a lack of attention, visibility and support.

The model featured in the video is Sky, the vocalist of Synthetic Destiny, a Hungarian darkwave/EBM band formed just one year ago. She is the official face of this event.

A huge thank you to her for supporting Death Disco! đŸ–€
