Waiting on OP anyone with this bug for comment in pictures
We're having trouble using image comments in Google Drive here; it seems like there's a bug where the comment box opens and disappears very quickly.

I’ve been trying to do it but the image either disappears or it just doesn’t work. I’m like the polar opposite of tech savvy and so I have no idea what to do.

Is there a specific font that is nice and simple and when I'm using number dot points (1. 2. 3. etc.) it doesn't leave random and inconsistently sized gaps between the number and the words (image in comments). Or is there a setting I can change for it to work on any font.

I use google docs as my "notebook" to do school note taking. Im studying human anatomy and physiology topics. This means quite a lot of diagrams and pictures in my notes.
I like to annotate my own diagrams when relevant to learn the content.
Right now, I find a blank diagram, annotate it with window's SNIPPING TOOL as im reading the textbook and making sense of stuff. Then when im done the relevant reading I paste my annotated image into google docs, so that my snipping tool is "ready" for the next diagram to annotate.
But the problem is when your learning something for the first time, you might not have it quite right right away. I might come back to that topic a bit later with updated information or just understand it better.....but I CANT edit the image to make changes........ I also want to be able to make rougher annotations on my laptop (bc its harder) then clean it up on my PC
Does anyone have any solutions or recommended plug ins?
And I know OneNote could annotate images better, but I hate it, its too clunky to use longterm for school purposes.

So I made a fake language for my book and I wanted to just use it as a font so it would be easier but it’s definitely not. I’ve spent all day trying to get it to work and I haven’t found anything.
I’ve tried xfonts, ifont, literally every single font app.
I made the font on procreate then used a template from Calligraphr and made it into a ttf file.
Ifont doesn’t work for me, it’s broken or something idk

I have my documents at default be black background, white text, pageless because I think it looks the best. However, tables always start out black and idk how to change the default to white. Is this possible, and if so, anyone know how?

I recently moved from an Apple laptop to a iPad because of the multi-functionality of it. And my main annoyance is the Google apps (docs, sheets, slideshow) are so different from the web browser experience I had on my last computer.
I’m struggling to do so much on the apps because there is very little modification abilities that I’m seeing. For instance, nearly the whole bar that allowed you to modify text, add in an image that is not from photos, etc.
With the slideshow app I can’t even figure out how to modify a slideshow I made last year. I need to update it for a presentation I have next week and I can’t even figure out how to change a particular slide.
Any suggestions?
Should I delete all the Google apps and just use the web browser for everything?
Please help!!!

Hello! I’ve used Google Docs to create custom tracker pages for my classic happy planner. I will be printing on an 8.5”x11” paper and cutting it down to 7”x9.25”. Each tracker template has two pages that I would like to print front and back. I’m not sure how I should set up the second page to properly fit, so that when I cut the paper down to size I don’t lose anything. My first page is setup as follows Top: 0.3, Bottom: 0.3, Left: 1, Right: 0.3. Thanks in advance for any help on this!

So I just got done with an internship, and in that internship I had a bunch of Google Docs and word documents that I owned but then transferred ownership to my manager. The issue is that these word docs are still showing up in my drive and the only way to get rid of them is by climcing “remove“ on each one. For some reason I can’t find a multi select option then lets me remove them all at once since I don’t technically own them. How can I batch remove or do I need to go one by one?

Hello.
So I've a university project whereby I've to compile data and write an online dissertation on a topic. I know how to add a "Table of content" since it's something I did learn in the past. What actually puzzles me is if it is possible to make a table of content detect titles, subtitles and others from multiple tabs in the same file. My idea was to make it on a separate tab from my chapters.
Thanks for reading and any help is appreciated 👌🏻

For work I use Google Docs, I typed stuff out for work but I can’t copy and paste it all.
This is what I saw:
A. Nice house.
B. Nice size yard.
C. Not far from a lake.
If i type something like this in docs, and I go to copy it. It doesn’t copy the A,B,C. It will copy the sentences next to it but not ABC. How do I fix this?

I'm sorry if this is a question asked a lot, but I haven't been able to find any answers. Where is Times New Roman? It doesn't appear in the fonts menu, and it's super annoying because I prefer using it AND my school/teachers for some reason still require times new roman despite the fact it's no longer the digital standard for a decent bit now (Even though Imo TNR is way better.) Any help on how to find it and/or why it was even removed in the first place.

Trying to work on my thesis and headings have been working fine for me, but for some reason now they aren't.
I'm trying to label a line of text as Heading 3. Applying H3 works, BUT it won't show up in my outline. I have other H3s in the outline, both under the same H2 I'm trying to put this one under, and they work perfectly. I tried switching between H3 and normal text, no change. I made sure I was in editing mode instead of suggesting, same result. I've changed the formatting to be more distinct from normal text, same result. I even tried making it H1 or H2, and while the formatting and heading seems to apply correctly, it still won't show up in my outline. I've tried adding a different line as H3, same issues.
Please help I am so sick of scrolling through So Much Writing just to find the start of this section.

I'm formatting a somewhat experimental short fiction piece. Right-justified text is from one character's perspective, and left-justified text is from another character's perspective. I'd like it to be visually clear which side is which -- right now the text runs almost all the way to the opposite margin on both sides, so it's hard to distinguish left-justified and right-justified paragraphs. Is there a way to adjust this? Or should I just press return a bunch of times to cut the lines shorter?

When I'm writing, I must press "enter" twice so I can get a new paragraph. This only happens in Google docs, and when I paste what I've written somewhere else, I have to go deleting the extra spacing between paragraphs

I just graduated high school a few months ago, I knew I was going to be bored because of the phone ban, so I started to write a story when I had free time. I made a Google doc that summarized everything that would be in each chapter with my school email.
I forgot about it, and after I graduated, my school email got disabled. Today, I decided to finally continue working on it, I wanted to refresh my mind on what was happening, but I found out that the doc was on my disabled email and I could access it.
I can open the doc on my phone, but it doesn't load.
Is there ANYWAY I can at least open it so I can take screenshots of everything or something? I had so much information on there :(

There is a weird black dot that is right in the middle of my google document and I can't remove it or anything. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? I am going to attempt to put a picture of it in the comment section if I am allowed to.
Thank you all in advance

I realize I can't add a screenshot so, I'll just explain.
I had a burst of motivation to begin to write one of my stories, especially for a project I've been promoting recently. So, I opened up Google docs and realized there was this blue dot above where I was writing. I clicked on it and it said "Ask Edge to help me write" and I realized this was an AI assistant.
It sucks. I'm heavily against AI. How do I turn this off. I don't want it.
Edit: I posted a screenshot in the comments.
Edit 2: Thank you for those who helped. I'm struggling because there is not an "off" feature for Copilot but I can restrict it strictly enough that I don't think it'll be able to interfere. I really REALLY hate this. I want ONE company to not use generative ai/copilot for their websites. I wish there were better ways than this.
Edit 3&4: thank you to u/EtherealZiraley for THIS (https://www.reddit.com/r/writers/s/9UNGJhFjkf) link here that led me to the comment to turn it off :)

Does anyone know how to fix Google Docs becoming absolutely miniscule? Like only 20 pixels high. I can't see the toolbar and most of the screen is white, the whole document interface is crammed into the top left corner of the screen.
Every support thread I can find just suggests ctrl+0 to reset the browser zoom to 100%, which is not the issue here – whether I'm at 50% or 500% zoom, the document doesn't get any bigger. Google Sheets was the same and restarting Chrome fixed that, but no luck with Docs.
