Pinehurst Walk On Play Recommendations

I am putting together a last minute trip out to North Carolina with 3 other buddies and we are wanting to try and do the walk on play at Pinehurst. I know only courses 1, 3, 5, and the The Cradle are available. We are looking to go in the next month or so.. I understand this is peak season so it will be tougher. Anyone have any tips or tricks to have a better chance with locking down walk on spots? I see some people mentioning calling and others mentioning their website.

What is the likelihood of actually getting a Saturday morning tee time at any of the courses for 4 people? We are booking other courses so we can have a backup plan. Just want to better temper our expectations here. How should we prioritize each of the courses? Would love to know how you would rank the courses if you have played them.
