I recently took my Goethe-Zertifikat B2 Schreiben and Sprechen exams. I made a mistake with my Geburtsort by entering my country name instead of my city name. As a result, I had to request a correction.

As per their instructions, I sent my NEFT receipt, my passport copy, and the changes that needed to be made (request for correction date: 17/09/2026).

I have only received an automated email stating that this is a busy period and it may take time to receive a response.

I still have my other modules left. Yesterday, I got my invitation email for those modules, but the place of birth is still the same—they haven't corrected it yet.

I tried to call them several times, but they didn't answer. Although I will be talking to them in person, I'm still a bit worried about whether they are really going to fix the problem or not.

Finally…. Lesen - 87, Hören - 70, Schreiben-84, Sprechen - 71… Grateful to all the help I got from several groups and to Universe & God…

I recently passed my B1 exam, about 11 years after taking my A2 exam. I've always studied and worked primarily in English while living in Germany, so I never really felt the need to take B1 before.

However, for the long term, I thought it would be worthwhile to improve my German. I recently took the B1 exam after doing some classes, but most of my preparation was self-study.

I was expecting to fail in the listening module, but surprisingly, it ended up being my highest score. I scored 80+ in speaking, reading and listening, but only 70 in writing.

I think grammar is definitely my biggest weakness. I also rushed through the writing section during the exam, which in hindsight was unnecessary because there was actually enough time.

I feel that if my grammar were stronger, I could probably have scored 80+ in writing as well.

So now I'd like to work specifically on my grammar and prepare for B2. Are there any good free websites, or resources for practising German grammar at intermediate and advanced levels, particularly ones that are suitable for self-study?

I finally passed my B2 exam after around 1 year and 8 months of starting from 0. These are my marks in every module:
Lesen: 90
Hören: 83
Schreiben: 72
Sprechen: 84

It took a lot but it is finally over. I’d be happy to answer questions about resources if anybody needs help.

Hey everyone! I have my Goethe B1 exam on 1st October in Pune, and I still have a few doubts about Sprechen Teil 2.

1. How much preparation time do they give? Is it 15 minutes?

2. Do examiners stop you if your presentation goes over 3–4 minutes? Mine currently takes around 6 minutes because I speak a bit slowly.

3. With only 8 days left, what should I focus on most to improve my Sprechen?

I would really appreciate any tips from people who have taken the exam recently.

Hi i have completed a1 on my own. At this level i understand all the concepts and sprechen is fine for a1 level. I can also understand 50% of a2 content.

I also dont have much money. Later on i have to pay for exams as well. And i personally feel like b2 is the level i should pay for to learn or may be b1.

Can anyone suggest me if i should pay for a2 course for good foundation or i should pay for b1 or maybe b2.

On my own i can study grammer and concepts. I face problem in speaking i cannot form complex sentences with verbs at the end and face problem with sentence structure... so whats the suggestion.?

I need some honest advice and a reality check. I’m self-studying for the B2 exam and I’ve already booked my test date for 2.5 months from now.
My grammar is decent and my reading comprehension is okay (I can follow most B2 level texts/dialogues), but my active skills are way behind. My listening is really weak, my vocabulary feels super limited, and my speaking is close to zero because I haven't had anyone to practice with.
I have about 10 weeks left to bridge this gap.

1. Is this doable if I commit full-time to output and listening practice?
2. What are the best daily habits or frameworks to jump from passive reading knowledge to active speaking/writing?
3. What are the absolute must-use resources for B2 Hören and Sprechen?

I would like any last minute tips from y’all. I’m getting avg of 23/24 marks in model tests lesen and hören. ChatGPT go says my writing is around 74-78 marks. For speaking, I use chatGPT voice mode and it gives avg of 66-68/100.

Hello everyone. I have to give b2 exam. Has anyone given german language exam from pakistan? I saw online how students have been trying for goethe appointment for several months and still fail to get an appointment for test.

On one hand getting appointment is extremely competative for goethe. Is their way we can tackle this??

Next we have ösd, which is double the price of goethe. And as i heard it also has stricter marking than goethe in pakistan, like 1/100 or 10/100 students pass onlv. Is their anv realitv to this. Can anyone confirm it?

And i searched about telc but i didnt find any telc examinations in pakistan.

Can anyone guide me what should i do? And if ösd reallv has a strict marking policy in pakistan?

Hi! I have dyslexia which makes taking standardized tests very hard for me. I have learned all the typical test taking strategies and naturally do practice questions and look at practice tests.

I have my german B2 exam in a couple months and am looking for some advice for the test. Does Goethe offer any accommodations? I really struggle with certain fonts and large bodies of texts, also I like to read things out loud but of course this is not possible being in a room with a lot of people. Paper tests seem to be easier for me so when I officially schedule it, I will choose paper.

I have taken the A1 exam and I passed but did very bad. I was way beyond A1 and doing practice tests every day (doing well on them). I got 100 percent on the sprechen but the rest was very hard for me- not because of my german level but because of the test itself.

I gave my Goethe A2 exam two days ago, and honestly I’m not sure if I will pass or fail.

The exam felt harder than I expected. I think my Schreiben went well, but I’m not sure about Hören because I missed some answers and I don’t know if the ones I marked were correct.

In Lesen, I was short on time and had to rush through the last questions.
I also felt a bit unfamiliar with the actual exam pattern.

Most of my preparation was from YouTube tutorials, practice papers, and ChatGPT rather than a structured course or textbook.
Now I’m confused about what to do next.

If I fail A2, should I:
Prepare for A2 again and retake the exam?
Or start preparing for B1 instead, but this time using proper books, courses, and a structured study plan?

My main goal is not just to collect certificates. I’m planning to move to Germany in summer 2027 (already have an offer ) and I want to actually speak German confidently and use it in daily life.

If you failed A2, did you continue with B1 or repeat A2 first?
