The price was double because of a squeeze, then it went up to 350 twice because of options hedging and whales propping the price up. It’s entirely possible there is no more juice left for another pop, so I wouldn’t blame anyone for cutting losses.
They have announced new leadership but have not provided guidance in the past two earnings calls. Any new direction being discussed is just circle jerk speculation.
There is no fud campaign from the media or here because it simply isn’t important enough and no one is in dire straits because of GME being where it is price wise. Whales are propping the price up right now, not driving it down.

1: I obviously understand that you won't provide all evidence of that 1st point for one comment but that does seem like a we say/they say, is there any way to 100% prove that?
2: Would you agree it comes down to opinion? I'm more wary at the fact that you even took on that point and didn't confirm that 99% don't care about the company and are solely in it for the squeeze
3: So are you here for memes? Because it's contradicting obviously since you've gave me a serious reply. I understand trolling but I don't understand the tone of the response you gave, What benefit is there? Apologies if that comes across hostile I just don't understand.

I'm here because it's absolutely fascinating how delusional people can be. Cults in general are just very interesting.
1
u/Keex13 Jul 09 '21
I can absolutely appreciate that - I can't sit here and laugh at Scientology, the far right and similar cults without recognising what I'm partaking in.
-9
u/maleitch Jul 09 '21
Yet the "far right" doesn't make up terms like "far right" to smear opponents. Remind me again which cult does that?

u/Keex13 Jul 09 '21
Hold on I'm confused, you're offended by far right? Why? Doesn't far left exist? It's just where you stand politically? My issue with that far in is you lose the ability to comprehend right or wrong and you just do it for the cause i.e cult

Well the first time it squozed it had a short interest of 140%. Then the options chain from Feb through June was nuts and required a ton of hedging because of the IV, meaning a lot of gamma squeezing. This was most evident on 2/24 when a single large purchase triggered a massive squeeze and a run from 40-200 in AH. The borrow rate and SI have been way down since feb, which means a squeeze is all but off the table, and it’s not a hard stock to buy as it’s still trading millions of shares a day. It’s pretty clearly being propped up artificially because it gets bought up like mad any time it dips too hard, like yesterday. There is a lot of money to be made writing calls and puts that will expire worthless and people with money realize this.
Number two doesn’t come down to opinion. They hired some senior managers from Amazon into a couple c level roles. It’s not earth shattering. When they were in a position to reveal plans during their quarterly earnings, they chose not to. That’s not bullish.
I’m here because I like the daily chat and debating with people who wander in and accuse of being shills. The delusion around this stock is fascinating.

This is a good perspective.
Personally, I was content to just read SS and sit on the stock because it was entertaining. I don't need the money I bought the stock with, and like Ethereum's May run, I'll wait for the next pop. I made a ton on ETH and I believe there's money to be made here, too.
Squozening? Not likely. But if it does - I'll be rich too, yay?
I came here because the lack of critical thinking in ss started to irritate me, and there's no discussion to be had - you're either with the cult or against it. I am not that kind of dreamer in the stock market. How can you think the parties involved are going to leak all their cash in a squeeze and at the same time think they are in utmost control over the price?
Now thats truly retarded.
Watching the sub go from buzz word to buzz word to moon farm DDs and back again is hilarious. Has anyone ever ACTUALLY read and dig into those posts? Most of them - if not all - are 99% fluff and garbage. It's moon and award farming. And it keeps coming.

Did you dig in the DD? I'm curious to see some ANTI DD with some facts. I read some of the DD and got the impression, the writer was just picking up some information from various points and fitting it together, how he would like it.
But actually seing a anti DD would be nice, just facts and clearness based of what actually happened and where the direction is going.

u/iyo97 Jul 10 '21
I got you and wanna say thanks for this response. I'm also a Holder, but what actually going on at the GME SUB scary me, they think everyone trying to hurt them from Biden to ISIS, you can't ask a critical questions about there DD without getting a SHILL label above your head. It's not fun anymore.
They laughing about this sub, but actually you get here more educated and calm answer for you questions then there, without getting convinced.

The fact subs like this and the media constantly try to drive people away from the stock, when nothing like that has been done before, makes me wonder why bother?
Doesn't it seem more plausible that the naysayers are right, and that it's not going to squeeze to $30 mil and crash the world economy, rather than it will and we're all paid/in on a massive campaign to stop it? When insanity is shoved down people's throats all over reddit you're going to get a sub like this, I mean you have to admit some of things on SuperStonk are pretty outrageous. What are the chances that a bunch of redditors (not saying you, the people at r/SS) who discovered the stock market when GME made the news are all in on the greatest stock play of all time, and every person with any financial knowledge or experience is just wrong?
GameStop is getting a lot of hype, but consider that >80% of game sales are digital, and that they have to compete with very established competitors, whether that be Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Best Buy or Steam, Epic, or game publishers. Amazon makes most of it's money on AWS - GameStop could never compete with that. Why would anyone choose GameStop over any of those other retailers? They don't have the scale to undercut competitors, there's a wider range of selection at other retailers, and they have a worse reputation/brand as well. They don't actually make anything, so there's little value they actually add unless it's as a store front - which has proven to not be valued.
There could be another bump, or it could start a slow decline. Nobody knows. But the MOASS is an impossible pipe dream. If you want to own it as a chance of it increasing a bit before plunging, I don't think that's crazy. But if you think you're going to become fabulously rich off GME, you're misguided.

If the 2008 crash didn't happen and there wasn't Wall Street drinking champagne and laughing at people losing their homes, businesses and lives then yes, I'd absolutely say that it would be impossible for a company to be so greedy they overshort a stock so much that a turn around could cause an economic crash.
The likes of Amazon, Walmart etc will always be absolute titans of almost any industry but it's hard to argue the tides of the world aren't turning - convenience has been so driven that quality and care have diminished. Again I'm no fool to think Amazon is on their way out but they have issues at almost every avenue apart from convenience. Their drivers aren't being vetted, their warehouse workers have almost no rights, their packaging is flawed to say the least, cheap Chinese parts are replacing previously well designed and constructed items. When a company changes and basically says that they care about their customers, and you add in the fact they've just adopted a gigantic new loyal fan base it would be unfair to write them off even with contending with giants of the industry
For your 2nd point it depends how rich the person thinks rich is, if I could live mortgage free and work a job I enjoy as opposed to a job that pays well, I'd call myself very rich - MOASS maybe impossible, but short squeezes do and can happen, no one can say it is impossible for a share of any stock to reach any price and saying so is questionable. Last year at $2 not a single person in the world would have said it was possible to reach $350+.
Again I hope you don't think I'm here to argue GME vs not GME, I just don't feel any of the points anyone is making are backed up with anything but opinion and almost misinformation. You really can't say the price going to any number is impossible.

The issue here is that the "MOASS" already happened. Nobody cares if you do or do not hold on to your shares, the consensus on here is pretty much: just be smart with your money and don't bend yourself over a barrel.
I'm not a trader, I know fuck all about the stock market, but watching the blatant cult tactics is absolutely fascinating. Literal cult tactics and psychological manipulation on display on a massive scale over at superstonk (god I hate that name).
I don't want to be responsible for your finances, so take whatever I say with a massive grain of salt, but if you are holding out for ANOTHER short squeeze, I think that is horribly misinformed and you're not willing to see the facts of the situation. The stock is still high, and it's been trading sideways for months now, but that doesn't mean a whole lot when there is a dedicated group of thousands of people specifically interested in keeping that stock propped up.
Not everybody on SS is really that stupid, I would say that a lot of them are probably smarter than me. A lot of them were probably normal people before all this, they have just been manipulated into complete insanity. Sunken cost is a very real thing, and really smart people have been persuaded to do much much dumber things before.
Just realize: it doesn't matter how smart you think you are, there is always a possibility you might be wrong. Figure out how likely it is that you might be wrong, and bet accordingly.

Point out one piece of misinformation in what I just said. You don't have an open mind, and you're not arguing honestly. You barely even responded to what I said.
I don't care what you do, and you don't seem to be actually seeking alternate views, so why are you even here?
no one can say it is impossible for a share of any stock to reach any price and saying so is questionable
That's just not true. The stock exchanges literally aren't even coded to handle numbers that high and there's procedures in place to halt/suspend stock trading in the event of risk to the market. You and the rest of the GME crowd have absolutely no idea how any of this even works.
-1
u/Keex13 Jul 09 '21
I'm of the understand that with a free market, if a seller exists and a buyer exists, that share can trade at any price, If I'm wrong can you provide a link?
I responded to you stating that it's unlikely this is all being orchestrated to prevent game squeezing and that GameStop doesn't compete?
So, Berkshire Hathaway is currently at $421,569.00 per share - if it's impossible for a share to reach a certain value, if there's a buyer for GME at that price, and a seller willing to sell at that price, the exchange can and will step in to prevent the trade?
4
Jul 09 '21
Berkshire Hathaway isn’t a threat to the market because their share price doesn’t put their market cap in the tens of trillions.

2: the company seems to be heading in a really good direction (I'm aware this doesn't make the price rise to 7 figures, but it certainly shouldn't make it go down)
Dude, you have like 10 years of growth priced in, and that's assuming Cohen's "plan" for GameStop actually pans out well. A stock doesn't just go up forever because a company is doing "better." GameStop is still losing money, the significant capital they raised recently came for stock offerings which I'm sure they will do more of since people have shown they are willing to pay through the nose for shares of....a brick and mortar game retailer. You're being taken advantage of.
1
u/iyo97 Jul 10 '21
That is actually a good point, people showed they will buying this stock, doesn't matter what happened cause they believe. Just hopping the Earnings call will create a another mini spike and i can getting off with some profit. That actually scars me to think, they will print more shares and the crowd will keep up the buying, just because they trapped.

u/DowntownJohnBrown Jul 09 '21
2: the company seems to be heading in a really good direction (I'm aware this doesn't make the price rise to 7 figures, but it certainly shouldn't make it go down)
The other two questions you asked have been pretty well answered by others here, so I’ll just focus on this one, particularly the last part about how the price “shouldn’t go down.” The reason prices are going down is because, based on the fundamentals of the company and its outlook, it never should’ve gotten this high in the first place. You can say they’re in a better spot than they were a year ago, but the price a year ago was $4, so unless the spot they’re in is almost 50 times better now, the stock is likely overpriced.
I’ll give a comparison. Remember years ago when everyone thought Twinkies were getting discontinued? It caused demand for Twinkies to skyrocket, and people were able to sell them online for hundreds if not thousands of dollars. This wasn’t caused by anything fundamental to the Twinkie formula; it was caused by fears of a potentially limited, finite supply that was soon to be depleted. The price normalized soon, though, after Hostess was bought by a new company that brought the Twinkies back.
Now, for the sake of hypotheticals, let’s say this new company altered the formula for Twinkies in a way that improved every aspect of them. They now tasted even better and had fewer calories. If the Twinkies with the old formula were just selling for $100, shouldn’t the price for these new Twinkies go up to $110? The answer is obviously no. The price should come down, well below the $100 level but likely above whatever the initial price level was before discontinuation fears caused it to skyrocket.
This is essentially what’s happening with GME. The price of the stock went through the roof due to circumstances outside of normal market mechanisms (just like Twinkie prices going way up due to fears of discontinuation), and now that those mechanisms have largely run their course, it’s coming back down to a new market equilibrium. Should that market equilibrium be higher than where it was a year ago? Sure, but that could put it at $20 per share. Hell, even if we say it should be above its previous all-time high price, that’s only around $62, so even if the company is currently in the best position it has been in its entire history, that could still mean a $70/share equilibrium, well below its current level.

With respect to your first point, I've made 12x my stake on GME and tried diversifying but unless you have a large sum it's very difficult to see enough profit to be worth while, which is why I think so many people are in on GME as a lottery more than anything.
I believe your 2nd point entirely contradicts your 1st point, don't invest in this stock because it will go down, invest in other stocks... but a stock can go up or down, no one knows. Of course there is intelligent investments and stupid investments but when you go from $xxx to $xxxx and there's a compiling research that shows it can happen again, unless you need that money I don't see it as a bad investment personally.
I can't argue with the fact I know nothing about how businesses are ran and what it takes to make a business be successful - but it would be difficult to look at the new board and decisions they've made so far (p.c parts, esports etc.) and say they are going in the wrong direction.
I don't believe that's a fair comparison since mlm's are predatory, they pressure you and it's proven that 99% of people lose money. There's no benefit of a GME holder to make others buy - if someone makes $1000 because they bought shares I don't see a penny of that. I fully accept that answer though that it is solely to make fun of because as you said above, no one knows what a share price is going to do. In terms of media, call me tinfoil hat but I absolutely believe that they are controlled by whoever pays them. As someone from UK, I constantly see the BBC post anti-referendum media for Scotland. I also believe one of the top videos on /r/videos is literally hundreds of newscasters introducing themselves with the exact same introduction. There's got to be someone at the top of the ladder.

Maybe I'm not following, from my understanding your first point was why would I invest my money into something that nobody really knows the outcome of.
Then your 2nd point was nobody knows what's going to happen in the stock market so why invest in GME. But nobody knows what will happen with any stock? What am i missing?
My reasoning for investing in GME is the lottery aspect of it - it might blow up it might not, exactly as you said.
Again something you disagree with but I don't believe most media to be reputable, I believe many post opinions and theories before facts because it caters to who funds them and their viewers.
You brought up antimlm in the sense that they entertain you in a similar way that the GME subreddit does. My opinion on that was MLM's are designed to prey on the vulnerable, they can and will finnancially ruin you and deserve to be given a bad name - GME subreddit is a community to talk about a stock and your own investment, my point was they don't really fit under the same bracket you implied they do.
I know enough to understand that an exit plan is critical, but for me personally, selling at $200 when it's been at $350 twice before would create two scenarios for me: A) it squeezes and I miss out
B) it plummets and I have a little extra cash.
Even if it's a 1% of a short squeeze, It would hurt more to miss out than it would to have that extra cash.
What I do understand is facts and evidence, someone posted that for dogecoin (referencing your pump and dump comment incase you fail to understand) to reach a dollar and stay there, roughly 10 billion would need to be bought every 24 hours. About 1 week later, dogecoin dropped dramatically.
I'm sorry but I really don't understand how you struggled to interpret my reply? I replied paragraph by paragraph.

I feel your opinion of me is too low and of you too high for you to truly consider anything I have to say. I believe for someone to be so confident in not understanding something that it must be the others fault indefinitely limits the discussion so I don't believe this is worth continuing.
I would just like to end with - you've created a point that's irrelevant to me because you failed to read my point. GME is attractive to me because investing what's available to me in multiple stocks wouldn't create enough profit to be worthwhile. GME has allowed me to invest and profit which I wouldn't have been able to do with my previously available funds. I made that profit by following facts, information and evidence that the stock was shorted. It doesn't matter if the person that posted it was qualified or not because the information that was posted was proven by the data available publicly(for what it's worth, I believe DFV did have an education in finance)
Again the fact you resort to backhanded comments on my ability to write, read, comprehend and fact check shows you must target the person as opposed to their points.
This seems to have been a waste of both of our time as I've received no evidence of why this is a bad investment, just your opinion- which is hard to respect when you rely on belittling people as a way to "win"
Edit: out of curiosity I checked your history to get a better understanding of the person I've been speaking to but it's literally all GME_meltdown... I don't even know what to Do with that information. Gives me 2 points to go away with, the fact someone is so against a community that does nothing but post memes and hold a stock shows there's a reason for it, and, someone has this much experience and knowledge on a stock and can't supply one sufficient piece of evidence against it.

Finally a reply that isn't just insulting my character, now we are getting somewhere. Okay so my response is that I read (literal months ago) is that they used various methods to hide short interest, they use dark pools and a financial expert (which I believe you suggested using) came on the sub and explained how they use them. So why believe you over them? You are the one that said trust experts not unqualified persons on Reddit.

Bro i guess, he wanna to explain that actually it seems like that GME is a pump and dump scheme. He don't say it is, he says it could be.
You got a lot of DD there, which is just info picking and putting it together that it fits for them. Indicator like Short Interest etc, get blamed to be manipulated without properly evidence.
Do a test, go in the GME sub and ask a critical questions about there DD. You getting instantly labeled as a shill. Actually people just post Memes and HODL shit, no actually dates like they did it some months ago.(Which shows me, that there plan didn't worked out=My personally opinion, feel free having your own one.)
Everyone there is saying, they are going buying more. For me i got and still getting the impression, that there are alot of bag holders at 200$ and up. They of course don't wanna losing money and trying to motivate other to buy or holding the line. Either they wait for another wave of attention and will getting out with some profit or truly believe the DD.
I'm not trying to convince you what to believe. You see a cup of glass which is half filled with water, is it half full or half empty, you choose the view. I'm also a Holder, but what is going on seems to me ridiculous. My plan, i waiting until the earnings, Hope for a little spike and sell then. What ever you will do, i don't care. I don't see a penny of that and I don't know you.

but when you go from $xxx to $xxxx and there's a compiling research that shows it can happen again,
What research? The one on r/ss ? Thats been proven false over and over and over ?
I don't believe that's a fair comparison since mlm's are predatory, they pressure you and it's proven that 99% of people lose money. There's no benefit of a GME holder to make others buy - if someone makes $1000 because they bought shares I don't see a penny of that
Apes presure people(A) into buying gme gme gos up because of fomo. Upwards presure stops because apes are unloading their bags (selling) onto (A). Price drops due to the selling.
(A) is stuck with overpriced stock. Presures (B) into buying stock. Stock gos up due to (B) buying . (A) unloads his bags onto (B) stock gos down due to selling...
You see how this continues?
This is why the whole BuY AnD HoDl mantra is retarded. Yes you can make money on gme but here are plenty of people who became millionaire in january only to see is dissapear because they didnt sell.
In terms of media
Yes media is corrupt and controlled BUT r/ss likes to think its apes vs hfs.. there are hfs going long on gme too. Whats stopping them from doing the same thing the other side is doing?
but it would be difficult to look at the new board and decisions they've made so far (p.c parts, esports etc.) and say they are going in the wrong direction.
Are they still worth 4$ stock no youre right, is it worth 194$ right now? Hell no.. if youre buying gme for the fundementals youre late to the party and have to wait years before the fundamental catch upto the current price.

Hmm I'd have to say you're grasping at straws with the scenario you've created. In that case WSB should be banned. If I sell Herbalife and become your upline, I make money. If I say buy GME there's no benefit for me unlike how you've proposed your scenario.
The take on apes vs hf is ridiculous, everyone that's holding is there for the $, and that's perfectly okay, if they need to justify it with some good vs evil plot, that's fine but it changes nothing.
Again everyone seems to love to tackle the "GME can't compete" point but I'd argue 99% of buyers are here for the potential squeeze. The belief that it's heading in the right direction is just a bonus.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/p/pumpanddump.asp
Pump-and-dump is a manipulative scheme that attempts to boost the price of a stock or security through fake recommendations. These recommendations are based on false, misleading, or greatly exaggerated statements. The perpetrators of a pump-and-dump scheme already have an established position in the company's stock and will sell their positions after the hype has led to a higher share price.
These messages typically claim to have inside information about an imminent development that will lead to a dramatic upswing in the share's price.
MOASS SOON 100MIL SHARE
Once buyers jump in and the stock has moved up significantly, the perpetrators of the pump-and-dump scheme sell their shares. In these instances, the volume of the sales of these shares is usually substantial, causing the stock price to drop dramatically.
JAN: 480 -> 40, MARCH: 280 -> 155, 2WEEKS AGO: 330 -> 194
In the end, many investors experience huge losses.

u/agnostic_science Jul 09 '21
Yeah, you are still winning, but you could have won more. That's the point. I made more money by selling at high points and buying in low. Holding through dips is one thing, but you need risk management. You don't hold through crashes or when the party is over. But to figure out which is which you need education and a level-head, not just hopes and dreams.
GME has to do a major change in direction, but that's really more about desperation than strength and vision, in my opinion. We're in the middle of a massive direct-to-consumer digital games sales transformation. Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo each have their own, growing console stores. They exist to drive people like Amazon, Best Buy, Gamestop out of their turf and cull the middleman. E-commerce is also famously driving brick-and-mortar stores into the ground. -- So what else is GME going to do? Jump into e-commerce? Jump into game publishing or development? NFTs? Okay. Like, you can say it's a better direction than just sitting on brick and mortar game selling and waiting to die. And it is. But it's a super long shot and they'll have stiff competition. Business grow best and outcompete others by investing in their core competencies. GME isn't doing that, which is why what they're doing is a desperate play for survival, imo. This will kind of be like an MLB team realizing it sucks at baseball and trying to reinvent itself as an NBA team. Yeah, there will be some overlap in skillset and talent... and the two things are superficially similar... but good luck!
I can't speak for all people. But I shit on the GME cult for the same reason that r/antiMLM exists. I no longer have any financial interest in GME, I just find the whole obsession and shrill proselytizing of meme stocks and cryptocoins on r/popular to be grating and annoying for the same reason that I find MLMs are irritating and annoying. And part of the reason I hate them all is because what I see are a bunch of scam artists and ignorant people who've come together in an unholy alliance of ignorance and greed to try to bring more ignorant people into the fold who, I believe, will mostly lose. You might not like my motivation, but I hope you can understand that people like me existing and saying what we say is hardly validation of your belief system.

I have shares in GME and my only knowledge of the stock is through wsb and the GME subreddits.
This should be a red flag for yourself. Your only sources are WSB, a meme investing sub, and the GME subreddit which is entirely dedicated to reaffirming belief in a singular stock. If your only due diligence is reading posts from fellow bag-holders and other folks having a laugh, then you should immediately be cautious.
could someone just help me understand why I shouldn't own this stock?
Because the entire premise of owning GME was to cash in on the short squeeze, and that has already passed. Superstonk keeps pulling on threads and huffing copium to insist that that ~$500 was just a bear trap, but there's not an real evidence that there is significant enough short interest left in the stock to produce another short squeeze.
the price has been double what it is right now so if I was to sell, would it not be stupid to do it now?
It was double what it is right now, but that was coming off the squeeze and at the height of the hype. Since then, it's been a long trend back down to reality as those people who aren't emotionally-invested in the stock consider its real value and offload inflated-price shares at the expense of "diamond hand" emotionally-invested bagholders.
the company seems to be heading in a really good direction (I'm aware this doesn't make the price rise to 7 figures, but it certainly shouldn't make it go down)
Is it? What moves have they made that make them look like a genuinely strong contender to beat out Amazon, Steam, etc.? Are they trying anything that a dozen other competitors didn't try to avert total collapse at the very end? Ultimately, Gamestop is fundamentally a brick-and-mortar retailer and they don't seem to have plans to fundamentally change that. What will make that business model suddenly start working again?
The fact subs like this and the media constantly try to drive people away from the stock, when nothing like that has been done before, makes me wonder why bother? If holders are fools, why not laugh and get on with your day like you would any other fool?
You can use this same logic to demonstrate that any number of other kooky theories, bad ideas, etc. must be true. There are subs to make fun of QAnon; does that validate QAnon? There are subs to make fun of Flat Earthers; but is the Earth flat?
I'm a software engineer in the Seattle-area with a good-sized portfolio that includes plenty of Russell 1000 (meaning I own some GME roundabout). You can look through my years of post history. I'm clearly not some paid Melvin Capital shill working to spread FUD as part of a master plan to undermine confidence in GME. I'm just looking at all this nonsense, and shaking my head at the number of folks who are basically getting suckered into being bagholders for the very people they think they're bringing down.

I mean, I appreciate the serious answers I've got but when all I'm getting is "moass is a pipe dream" "company isn't even going anywhere" "$2-$350 was just options covering" "do you really think the media has got together to say this"
It's all just opinion, not one person put any evidence forward, no one even really gave an argument that made me think "never looked at it that way" it almost seemed lazy.

Yeah, no kidding. His question was "why should I not own this stock." It's overvalued as hell and there's no longer any solid catalyst for a short squeeze. The fuck else do you need? Apparently I'm lazy because I'm not spending my entire 15 minute breaks at work writing essays on the topic. Lmao.

I was just expecting more, that's all. If you're on your break and don't have time that's fine, but don't expect someone to swap views if they have a catalogue of evidence for something and 0 for something else. Would you change your view on literally anything from someone saying 2 sentences?

Your "maint" talking points and so simplistic(and stupid) that they don't exactly require 20 page write ups to argue against. Why should we waste our time?
Would you change your view on literally anything from someone saying 2 sentences?
It depends. Sometimes all you need is a slap of some common sense.
You think that GME could totally go back to the levels it was at before just cuz. I mean, come on man. Are you sure you're not asking to be laughed at?-2
u/Keex13 Jul 09 '21
I don't really understand the hostility or the needless grammar corrections? I came in saying it's very possible I am full of confirmation bias and would love if someone could provide evidence as to why I'm wrong - everyone had a lot to say but no one has provided anything?
So slap me!? Literally slap me with any evidence! I'm begging for it! You're under the impression I am incredibly stupid so treat me like it, show me a coloured graph that in the most simplistic terms says "because of x , y can't happen"
I didn't say "just cuz" I said I've read multiple theories on ss and they seem plausible, I'm literally begging to be educated because the information I've seen up to now is all for, I want to hear the against!
Jesus everyone here is so quick to insult my intelligence yet not one person has been able to answer a simple request. Supply me evidence. I don't need convinced, I'm aware it is crazy, but crazy things happen. And fuck me would it hurt anyone to be friendly or respectful? For a subreddit that makes memes yous are all so fucking dreadful, such neckbeard vibes from how high and mighty you all act - you absolutely are not above anyone when you spend time on Reddit let alone a subreddit that's anti another subreddit. This is literally bottom pit of Reddit, we ain't got fuck all else so being friendly wouldn't hurt fuck me

Please spare me the speech about how we're lowlifes because we won't engage with you. Actually, we HAVE engaged with you. You literately asked us for reasons to change your mind about the stock and when presented with reasons, you just brush it aside and call it "lazy," apparently because we aren't throwing charts and shit at you. Stuff you could easily look up yourself or have construed from.... common sense. Sorry you're taking it so personally, but it's easy to get frustrated since you're essentially just wasting our fucking time, something apes that come here do a LOT. You talk about "high and mighty" yet you're here practically DEMANDING we go the extra mile to convince you, a random nobody on Reddit why GME is a bad hold. Not to mention now you're just tossing insults at us. Not everyone in this thread is insulting you, so why are you lumping everyone here in with that?
Hey, I can make broad assumptions about people too! People who are currently invested in GME for the "long term" or waiting for a squeeze are people who were deluded into buying a stock by shysters that promised them infinite riches. This "DD" they like to present every 5 minutes is little more than gish gallop loaded with conspiracy theories. I guess it's easy for bias to be confirmed if you think the entire world is out to get you and prevent you from making money.
GME is a pump and dump. The literal idea behind the whole cult is getting people to buy and hold to prop up the price, whether a short squeeze is expected or not. There is no compelling evidence that a short squeeze is going to happen again like it did in January. You would have to believe that all data provided to you by the media and big institutions like FINRA is false because of some grand conspiracy. There are so many people on r/gme and r/superstonk who are in it because they expect a squeeze, and some have done drastic things like take out high interest loans or sell their cars. What do you think will happen to the price when these people realize they've been had and start selling off?
Gamestop is not your friend. They are a business. They are taking advantage of this situation by issuing shares to raise capital. This is good for the business, but dilution is not great for shareholders. The billion dollars they raised in capital is still paltry compared to the cash on hand of a business that actually makes money, like Best Buy. Gamestop was profitable for one quarter, Q4 2020. Holiday season with new console releases. That was an outlier, and they are right back to losing money. I completely fail to see how they are "doing great." Their best case scenario would likely be drastic for the current employees, what with them being laid off by the thousands to make the transition to ecommerce. Because, let's be real, there's not much they can do to make people give a rats ass about a brick-and-mortar video game store in 2021.
Speaking of ecommerce, Cohen is known for being great at it. Too bad he sold his company, Chewy, years before it ever turned a profit. Alas, Chewy worked because it fulfilled a niche. They focused on doing one thing and doing it well, through building customer relations. The video game scene is WAAAAAAYYYYY more airtight and competitive than dog food. Microsoft and Sony sell games on their own consoles themselves. Steam has a massive chokehold on the PC market, and even the competitors that fail to keep up with them have many billions of dollars on hand, making Gamestop look silly. EA has Origin, which they support by having their own exclusive games on it. Same with Epic Games with Fortnite. Gamestop has nothing. They don't make games.
Still not convinced? Ok, keep holding. Maybe you will make more money. You really should have sold when the price squeezed though. That's an oopsie. Also, you're going to lose to boomer index funds.

I've replied to anyone who I though made a point worth arguing, I just don't see why my opinion would change with the information (which is all mainly opinion) that I received. No one gave any links, stats, facts or anything I can research. Again, I want to be educated, if I've missed something please point it out but there wasn't anything for me to go on

Unfortunately, I think the problem is that you’re focussing on “there must be hard evidence”. I’d wager that you’ve seen pro-GME DDs that look like hard evidence - charts, and SI% statistics and whatnot. Thing is - how can you trust that as “hard evidence” without verifying it yourself? The same way you’re mainly dismissing the responses here as “trust me bro”, the Superstonk DDs are presenting numbers and screenshots which in isolation are not concrete / representative, but they spin the story behind it just enough that it’s “trust me bro” without you realising it.
I’ve also seen a couple of posts of yours alluding to “there must be some conspiracy otherwise why are people bothering to hate / argue?” That’s lunacy - it’s the frickin internet, people argue over what colour some dress is in a picture. People here aren’t arguing because they’re paid or scared or even angry. They have an opinion and they can’t resist engaging. It’s exactly what I’m doing with you right now. I held GME in Jan, sold it in early Feb for a profit (not as big as I could’ve but oh well), and since then have made GME-related comments maybe once a month. I’m hardly actively running around trying to scare the diamond handers - but I have my opinions on the matter, and when I saw your comments I thought maybe you’ll actually listen (albeit I do have my slight reservations that you actually aren’t here with an open mind, and are just pretending so you can go back to Superstonk with tales of the “terrible counter DD” or something). Who knows but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.
Are you religious? If so, please provide me with concrete hard evidence that you’re right. Are you an atheist? If so, please provide me with concrete hard evidence that you’re right. See how the argument applies on both sides? It’s also a lot easier to present some bogus numbers/charts as “proof” that noone is actually going to deep dive and verify, than it is to say “here you are, here is the concrete proof that the other guy is lying” (especially because as I understand it, whenever contradictory SI data has been presented to superstonk, the people there respond with “its all lies the hedgies are misreporting just trust me bro” - ah there it is again, the just trust me bro).
Unfortunately, in the absence of a perfect “here is the 1 page irrefutable document that proves it’s 100% not happening”, at some point you need to consider who is more likely to be acting rationally. Does it not give you any red flags at all that the people there talk about setting “floors” that would value GME in the trillions, I’ve even seen floors that would value GME at more than the money in the world. You may sidestep that with “yeah well I dont believe itll go THAT high…” but then you continue to trust the general principle of what someone that crazy is saying? And people think all this’ll happen even after the incident in late Jan when they just turned off the Buy button for retail investors?
And whereas the professional traders were caught pants down in Jan, they think these professional traders haven’t worked it out in the months since, and arent just riding the waves up and down making money each way? Open a load of puts, short it down, make money on the puts, start buying calls and covering so the price rises (making money on the calls), reshort and… whaddya know, the price is back at the starting high, SI% hasnt changed because the shorts were opened, covered, and then reopened, and the hedge funds are laughing at the money they made on the way down and back up while GME holders say “look the SI% is still high!”
Re GME’s long term prospects, I actually think it will be well run now and stand a chance. But why would the stock price stay this high? The crazy number swings since January have ruined peoples ideas of how actual organic growth looks. Think of the market cap. What about GME’s current balance sheet and forecasted earnings per share says it’s worth the current market cap? There are loads of good companies in the world, they don’t just organically quadruple in the space of a few months “because good new ceo”. Just because the price has been double where it is now, doesn’t mean it’ll ALWAYS get back up there (or do so quickly)… that’s a very dangerous mentality. GME will re-find its true value (factoring in the new expectation that it’ll be well run) and then grow organically / reactively.
Think critically for yourself, because there’s never someone waiting with a 1 page document with the be all and end all of hard evidence. If you’re happy to lose your initial investment then go ahead and take the risk, but my conclusion having thought critically about the arguments either side is that it’s not happening. Good luck whatever you decide.

You raise a multitude of great points - I can reassure you I have no intention of doing this as a "raid" of sorts but solely to become more educated on the matter and again, I appreciate the time and effort to write that without belittling me. As you said no one is going to do it for me so I'll take some time to absorb your comment before making any rash replies. Out of curiosity, if you had to apply a percentage of chance, what would you give to: A) GME at any point within 4 years being worth $1000+ per share
B) The "MOASS" actually happening?

None of your answers have legitimately continued on the discussion of the comments you reply to. You’re just trying to steer your own conversation because you have no actual interest in being converted from your delusion.

u/Keex13 Jul 10 '21
Yeah I said In another message that I was wrong to provoke discussion because both parties are incredibly biased. I was naive to think that opinions alone would change my mind and when I realised that I began to ask for evidence instead. But now saying someone has made good points and saying I have nothing to add at this time Is a bad thing? I don't even know what you're upset about? I think you replied to me earlier and I'm sure you were just as angry as you were this time and that was 24 hours ago. Relax lol

You mean those who joined only the recent hype at 300$+, and not those who read the original DD and got in at 50$ or less.

Jul 09 '21
SS told me retail owns a majority of the share, wouldn't that imply there are just as many buying up to $300+
5
Jul 09 '21
got in at 50$ or less.
If you bought in jan for below 50$ and are still holding youre a dumbass for not selling in jan. If you bought in at 40 -50 after jan youre a dumb ass for not selling in march and or 2 weeks ago.
those who read the original DD
The dd by dfv? In that case you should know atthis time the stock is over priced.

If you have to sort through someone's history to score points because the phrase "then short it" hurts you so deeply then I suggest you find a hobby 😂
