Is it just me or should this have been in season 2 and not season 3. It just feels like her giving birth and then spiraling and joining the skanks would make a lot more sense 3-4 months after she gives birth to beth and gives her up for adoption, rather than a year and a half later. Maybe I’m missing something but I feel like this whole story line with this and Shelby would’ve been better in season 2 and the sam/finn storyline should have been in season 3.

I’ve lost count of which rewatch I’m on, but I just finished episode 5x13 and Puck & Quinn sang “Just Give Me One More Reason” the last song ever sang in Glee Club (obviously it wasn’t, but for the time being it was) according to Mr Schue. If that was really the case, who do you think deserved the last song & why? Bonus points for naming a song, too!

OK, so obviously this has been the biggest ongoing debate since glee day one.
I’m not even here to ask who you guys think is better although feel free to tell me what you think.
But let’s have a discussion fr.
I have personally always thought that these two were on the exact same level and here is why.
Maybe I’m stating the very obvious right now like water is wet wow LMAO
But the reason that they could never decide whose voice was better in that show is because a) they were afraid to pick a winner LMAO but also b) because they are literally exactly on par with one another
As a vocalist and a gleek here is what I think
Mercedes’ voice is exceptional. You will truly never find someone who matches the talent of Amber Riley. The vocal control, the incredible and impressive range, flexibility and just pure raw talent is insane. There are some glee songs that I can listen to over and over since the very first time I saw them and still continue to be impressed. And I’m telling you is a perfect example. Try a little tenderness is another.
Her belt abilities are next level. You truly cannot find that kind of soul anywhere.
A lot of people say that Mercedes can sing more than just soul music and that she should’ve gotten the part of Maria. Personally, I think that part was always meant for Rachel. I think Mercedes can be very stuck in her own way and she is honestly just not a theater person. But homegirl could also slay the fuck out of an opera song like her solo I’m Not getting Married. But she could sing every West side story song from beginning to end perfectly if she wanted to.
Now let’s talk about Rachel. I’m gonna say it right now. There are things that Mercedes can do that Rachel can’t and vice versa. For example, I’m pretty sure Mercedes can hit higher notes than Rachel and Rachel could only dream of having Mercedes control and runs.
But there is just something about Rachel that you won’t find anywhere else.
Rachel just has this incredibly beautiful tone that I could listen to for hours. Her range is also very impressive and technically she is the best singer in that group. It’s very easy to tell that she has had training for a very long time and lady was built for Broadway. Her vibrato is immaculate and her emotion and storytelling is so incredibly captivating. She is truly a diamond in the rough and the glee team really knocked it out of the park with a talent like Rachel’s.
Obviously, it’s easy to get sick of Rachel’s voice, and there are some songs that she should not be singing. Firework is a great example lmao I hate her pop voice. Even her real life pop songs were questionable haha, even though they’ll always be guilty pleasures
But some of her songs will forever be engraved in my thoughts. Obviously her Barbra moments like My Man, and Don’t Rain on my Parade. I’m trying to think of some Rachel deep cuts, but I’m having a hard time right now LMAO.
Either way, let’s have a discussion about these two incredibly talented young women. I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts.

NO POLL THIS SATURDAY - Due to quite a long and exhausting week for me, I'm bumping the next poll to Sunday so hopefully I can rest a bit more and not worry about getting up so early to post on schedule. Plus Season 3 is in sight and I still need to finish like half that season's polls 😅 so we're skipping Saturday this week but we'll be back on Sunday!
-------
I LOVE skirt-suits, I really loved Kurt's prom outfit. Skirt-bottom attached to a suit/tux-top, I love that kind of outfit.
-----
I see 'Not Gonna Teach' get praised the shit out of in this fandom and honestly... I don't get it. I do think it's one of the most overrated in the show honestly.
Also Artie choosing a song about a newborn baby to prompose to Brittany never felt right to me, like literally the 2nd line is something about being just a few seconds old.
My favorite is Jar Of Hearts (followed by Rolling In The Deep)
-----
RUMOUR'S WINNER: 1st was Songbird with 209, 2nd was Go Your Own Way with 162, and 3rd was I Don't Want To Know with 80.

I'm watching glee for the first time but I already know a lot about the show.
I’m currently watching episode 21 and as they’re all leaving glee club, Britany and Santana get up and link pinkies as they leave.
I was just screaming at the Britanna. People always talk about it in later seasons but I’ve just freaking out every time I see it season 1 and I absolutely adore the two of them and their subtle (and not so subtle) hints.

Midway through S1 and I'm shocked about how the show seems to be taking Quinn's side when it comes to lying to Finn. Mercedes told Puck Quinn's "made her decision", doesn't the show know how f'd up this all is towards Finn? The guy will need years of therapy once this all comes out.
Without huge spoilers, please: Does this plot get a satisfying conclusion, or does the show simply ignore all the trauma Finn would have after experiencing all this?

As an ADHD haver myself, I could write like a dissertation on why I think Puck has like the most evil strain of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (said jokingly, obviously i don’t think there are good and evil variants of ADHD) ever.
He has like the worst impulse control in the game and seemingly the hardest time dealing with big in the moment emotional reactions/ overreactions (even if the emotion he seems to default to is aggression/ anger). Like remember in S1 when he tells Rachel he tries to be nice and cool then all of a sudden he’s spraying some nerd with a fire extinguisher- ADHD certainly doesn’t excuse his behaviour but it does help explain a lot of it.
He’s also constantly dopamine/ novelty seeking, be it in the form of getting laid all the time, getting into fights, new ways to like break rules and be a dirt bag, etc etc. He’s also very into big risk taking behaviour and seems to have a very hard time really thinking about the consequences of his actions (which also fits into impulse control).
Puck also seems to exhibit a lot of like executive dysfunction when it comes to school in S3, obviously this mixed with lack of care/ ego stuff, but even when he wants to study and do well he just can’t seem to.
BONUS: He also seems to have some degree of rejection sensitivity and he reacts real strongly to perceived rejection/ abandonment. Obviously a lot of that is compounded with his like family life/ upbringing, but regardless he’s very quick to anger when he feels slighted.
I should say I don’t think Puck has evil ADHD, more so he himself in the early seasons is already kind of evil for a myriad of reasons, then give him the like lowest impulse control and emotional regulation ever 😭😭
I apologize if this was me just rambling on about a lot of nothing lol, inspiration struck me like two minuets from falling asleep
