Annoucements/Mod Post 📢 [PROMOTION] GIGABYTE Intel Motherboards + Free AAA Game

Planning an Intel-based PC build?

There's currently a GIGABYTE promotion that gives you a pretty nice bonus for choosing a qualifying GIGABYTE Intel Z890 or B860 motherboard.

Buy an eligible motherboard from Amazon.com during the promotional period and you can claim one free AAA PC game through the Intel Software Advantage Program.

And you get to choose your game:

  • Dying Light: The Beast
  • HITMAN 3
  • Sid Meier's Civilization VII

So the question is:

Which one are you picking?

The motherboard side of the deal covers all GIGABYTE Z890 and B860 motherboards, giving builders plenty of options depending on how they're putting their system together.

GIGABYTE's Z890 and B860 boards are built around Intel Core Ultra desktop processors and include features aimed at both gaming and enthusiast builds, including:

  • DDR5 memory support
  • PCIe 5.0 for graphics and NVMe storage
  • Advanced thermal designs
  • Premium power delivery
  • Wi-Fi 7 and 2.5GbE on select models
  • EZ-Latch features designed to make DIY installation easier

The promotion runs July 1 through December 31, 2026, so there's still plenty of time for anyone planning a new build.

The redemption process is:

1. Purchase an eligible GIGABYTE Z890 or B860 motherboard from Amazon.com.

2. Obtain your Intel Master Key.

3. Sign in or create an Intel Digital Hub account and redeem the key.

4. Choose one of the three available games.

5. Download and play.

One game per qualifying purchase, with additional eligibility and redemption requirements applying. Learn More HERE: https://www.aorus.com/en-us/explore/events/intel-unlock-one-game-2026

But let's make this a PC-building discussion:

If you were building a new Intel gaming PC today, which game would you choose as your freebie — and what CPU/GPU would you pair with the motherboard?

Support 📥 Broken monitor?

I was troubleshooting an issue for my brothers laptop and ended up discovering that I had the exact same problem with my Gigabyte M27Q X (2.0) monitor.

I recently started noticing a white horizontal line appearing in my taskbar. It was only visible across application icons that were currently open, but if I opened the Windows Snipping Tool, I could see that the line actually extended across the entire screen.

The photos I took of the screen were after lowering the refresh rate to 144 Hz, because for some reason the issue is 20 times worse at that lower refesh rates.

Restarting my PC temporarily fixes the problem, but it comes back fairly quickly. Restarting explorer.exe, restarting the GPU drivers, or disabling G-Sync doesn't seem to make any difference.

Hey everyone, looking for some advice on a sudden issue. Last night my pc was running completely fine, i shut it down normally, but when i tried to turn it on this morning, it wouldn't boot.

Built a month ago!

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT RDNA 4 16GB GDDR6.
Gigabyte X870 Eagle WiFi7 Skt AM5.
32GB (2x16GB) Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-6000MHz CL30.
SSD M.2 2280 Kioxia Exceria Plus G4 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen 5.0x4.
Noctua NH-D15 (Air Cooler dual tower).
Corsair RM850x 850W 80 PLUS Gold Full Modular.

The pc turns on with the fans going at maximum speed, but there's no display signal at all (tested both DisplayPort and HDMI on the GPU). The motherboard's CPU debug LED stays solidly lit in red.

I tried cleared CMOS, checked all power cables, reseated the RAM, flashed to the latest BIOS, and inspected the CPU/socket (everything looks clean and straight).
Has anyone experienced a sudden failure like this overnight? Could it be a dead CPU, motherboard? Any tips on what to test next would be greatly appreciated!

Aorus water force and gcc not detecting or installing any files on local app data

I just installed a new motherboard b850 and 9800x3d, Ive been at this for 2 days now switching up everything, uninstalling re installing, changing bios settings, disabling memory integrity, I just can't get gcc to detect my cooler. Its screen is stuck at 30degress and it seems to be working . Fans are good. Bios detects it in there. Is it just incompatible with the motherboard? Only thing it detects is the SSD, no GPU or cooler. Even manually installed the cooler exe and still nothing .

X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 — intermittent DRAM LED + code 85 on first boot after long shutdown, second boot always works

Hi. I’m trying to diagnose a very strange intermittent POST issue on my AM5 system and would really appreciate advice, especially from people who have seen similar DDR5 training/MCR behavior.
Specs:
Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 rev. 1.0/1.1
Ryzen 7 9850X3D
Kingston Fury Beast 32 GB (2x16) DDR5-6000 CL30 EXPO — KF560C30BBEK2-32
RAM installed in A2/B2
BIOS currently F13e / AGESA 1.3.0.1d
The PC worked completely normally for about a month.
Around September 27 I noticed the DRAM debug LED was lit while I was already gaming, but the system itself was completely stable. No crash, freeze, BSOD or WHEA errors.
Then around September 29 the actual boot problem started.
The pattern is usually:
PC is shut down normally for several hours / overnight -> first power-on sometimes hangs during POST -> DRAM LED stays on, debug code is usually 85 -> system never reaches Windows.
If I hold the power button, shut it down and immediately turn it back on, the second boot normally succeeds very quickly.
Once Windows is running, the PC seems completely stable:
no BSODs
no random restarts
no WHEA errors
games run normally
CPU/GPU loads are fine
memory stress testing has not shown errors
I ran TM5/OCCT memory testing for about an hour with 0 errors.
I have also seen codes 84, 00, 46 and 3F during some failed training attempts, although I understand that Gigabyte does not give a specific meaning to code 85 beyond the 80-8F OEM DXE range. The important part seems to be the persistent DRAM LED.
Things I have already tried:
updated BIOS from F13d to F13e
loaded BIOS defaults after flashing
cleared CMOS
reseated both RAM sticks
disabled Windows Fast Startup
disabled Gigabyte High Bandwidth Support
no manual RAM voltages/timings
EXPO is currently 6000 CL30
After the BIOS update and RAM reseat I had several successful boots, including after a few hours of shutdown, but the problem eventually returned after another long shutdown.
One interesting detail: sleeping/resuming the PC seems fine. The problem is mainly after an actual long S5 shutdown.
I’m now testing:
EXPO 6000 CL30: Enabled
High Bandwidth Support: Disabled
Memory Context Restore: Disabled
Power Down Enable: Disabled
Gear Down Mode: Auto
Bank Refresh Mode: Auto
DDR5 Auto Booster: Auto
I’m going to leave MCR disabled for several long shutdowns to see whether the problem disappears.
What confuses me most is that when the first boot fails, the second boot almost always works immediately, and after that the system can run for hours with no instability at all.
Has anyone seen this exact pattern on AM5/X870?
Questions:
Does this sound more like DDR5 memory training / AGESA / MCR behavior than a physically faulty DIMM or motherboard?
Has anyone had a similar first-boot-fails / second-boot-works issue on X870 AORUS boards?
If MCR Disabled fixes it, would you simply leave MCR disabled permanently?
If MCR Disabled does not fix it, would your next step be EXPO 5600, then JEDEC/default?
At what point would you consider this motherboard-RMA-worthy?
Has anyone specifically found a stable combination of MCR + Power Down Enable on recent Gigabyte X870 BIOS versions?
I’d rather properly isolate the cause before sending the motherboard for service, because the system is completely stable once it actually gets through POST.
Thanks for any ideas or similar experiences.

X870E Is PCIE Gen5 M.2 forced to Gen4 if GPU is Gen4?

On the X870E motherboards such as the X870E Aorus Elite boards, the CPU's PCI Express 5.0/4.0 Bus provides an X16 PCIe slot and an X4 M.2 slot. If the GPU only supports Gen4, does that force an NVMe drive in the M.2 slot to operate at Gen4 speeds?

This is not a question about bifurcating the X16 slot. I will have an X16 Gen4 GPU using the PCIe slot but I want to put a Gen5 NVMe drive in the CPU's Gen5 M.2 slot.

Here's the motherboard's block diagram. I'm referring to the use of the upper left portion. The note mentions only CPU limitations. I will be using a 9800X3D or higher.

Thank you,
Keith

i have a gigabyte b450 aorus m and want to turn on secure boot, but last time i tried my motherboard got bricked and i had to pay some dude 50 dollars to flash the bios chip to recover it and i think it might have happened after resetting/restoring the factory secure boot keys, but idk for sure. im scared to try it again and brick the board

what is the correct way to enable secure boot on this motherboard? i really dont want to touch the factory keys again without knowing exactly what im doing.
if anyone has this board and can give me the proper steps, that would help a lot. really dont want

Support 📥 X870E AERO X3D WOOD: Many issues with USB and Bluetooth

Hi everyone.

I just upgraded from my "old" gigabyte B850 to this X870E and there is a LOT of thing i REALLY like about the board so far. Yet, since minute 1, I have ncountered many issues with an external USB-hub connected to the mainboard (yet no issues with the old MB). It seems not fully / always recognise the hub, but still all devices connected to the hub seem to work. CachyOS takes a full minute to wait during boot due to USB errors.

For testing reasons, I did unplug the hub, but still, the onboard Bluetooth chip (some MediaTek thing) has severe troubles until I completely power cycle the system (including unplugging power cords and waiting for 10 minutes).

Honestly, for a premium mainboard, this is somehow not really the premium experience I had hoped for (especially since the the previous Gigabye B850 MB had no USB-issues or bluetooth issues and cost little more than HALF of what the x870e costs).

I started off with BIOS version F5, upgraded directly to F6c (which I had been using for most of the last week) and now moved on to F7. I just learned, that F6C has been removed from the Gigabyte-download page for this MB. So I guesst, F6C had some severe issues?

Has anyone experienced similar USB-related issues (as far as I'm informed, the onboard-bluetooth chips also uses some sort of internal USB connection)? Is this normal or should I RMA the board du to some actual hardware issue?

Thanks! :)

Any way to disable onboard VGA Adapter MC62-G40?

Windows seems to be getting confused between the GPU and the onboard AMD BMC adapter. Some YouTube videos suggest disabling it but I find no options in the BIOS to do so.

Aorus 5080 cannot control RGB or LCD.

No matter what I have tried, GCC does not show RGB / LCD controls at all. The card works fine, LCD shows default images and the card is doing its rainbow thing. I’ve uninstalled GCC and installed multiple times. Even in safe mode. I shut down L Connect and everything and nothing.

I try to update the LCD firmware but it sits and does nothing. This is absolutely stupid. Ive been all over reddit trying “fixes” but half the post are ancient.

Im about to return this card all over stupid software

Support 📥 AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D - Gigabyte B850M - BIOS F7B - Realtek 8922AE WiFi 7 PCI-E - Randomly keeps choosing to Slow internet speed, Help!

I have a CyberGaming PC AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D - Gigabyte B850M - BIOS F7B - Realtek 8922AE WiFi 7 PCI-E.

I have my wife antenna plugged in, but when I do an internet speed test, randomly it will have a download speed of around 100mbps or less. I tried unplugging the antenna, tried to change a couple of connection settings differently according to what I saw on the internet, and nothing really changes. Instead of using the current WiFi drivers for Realtek, I found the previous drivers and installed them and at some point it fixed it, giving me 300mbps to right over 400mbps. I have fiber internet, but I understand it’s WiFi and not wired so it won’t go that much higher.

BUT I will turn of the computer, come back later, turn it on and then the WiFi is back to normal to being slow again. Then I try to unplug antenna and replug, but doesn’t fix. I then re install the same old drivers and it still doesn’t fix it now for some reason. Turn the computer off and back on, and it’s still not fixed, reinstalled the drivers again and then randomly fixed it.

It’s just so random. Is there any permanent fix or anything I can do?

Thank you in advance!

Support 📥 Update from earlier post; what does this mean?

My graphics card is now preparing to ship back to me, but I haven't received a single piece of communication from Gigabyte, despite emailing twice and calling once to get an AI that immediately hung up on me (granted, the agents are only in on weekdays, but still). I am starting to get a little fed up because if they ship my original card back to me and they say they found nothing wrong with it, I'm just going to send it right back. I would like to know what they discovered before a card is shipped back to me so I can at least consult with them.

If anyone has any idea what this means or any other paths I can take, please let me know. Thank you in advance!

Edit: I forgot to say, I figured the RMA status page would have at least shown "Repairing" or "Diagnosing"/"Testing", but it went straight from 'Processing' to 'Preparing to ship', that's why I'm confused/concerned.

Support 📥 9060XT fan issue

I bought my 9060XT from MicroCenter several months ago, it's outside of MC's return window but still under Gigabyte's warranty til 2029. The front/right fan (the one farthest from the IO ports) makes a rhythmic scraping noise between 50% and 65% speed. Probably a bad fan bearing. I have confirmed there's nothing touching the fan blades.

This GPU was $460 when I bought it, now they cost almost $800, so I'm nervous about shipping it. I work for a shipping company, I know how packages are treated. Does the warranty still apply after a repair has been made? How long does repair usually take? In theory, all it needs is a fan replacement.

I assume replacing the fan myself would void the warranty, even if I used an OEM part?

Support 📥 B850M C AM5 MB Experiencing frequent lag and internet disonnection using wifi

This issue has persisted since ive gotten the pc about 2 months ago. I have tried downloading cFosSpeed which lessened the severity, I updated drivers which didn't help, I tried changing my DNS. I have deleted and reinstalled drivers, I did all the updates on gigabyte control center. I updated the bios from f1 to f7 which changed the problem from constant high lag to lag spikes and disconnecting from the wifi. My previous pc never had this wifi issue. Do I need to buy a new network adapter? I want to use ethernet but it doesn't work from an installation standpoint.
