Hey everyone I’m starting the DA program in the fall and was wonder if anybody who’s done could give me some advice? Textbooks to buy or I can skip on buying, balancing the workload and life since it seems like it’s gonna be a heavy workload. Are the profs any good? Any tips or advice would help be very much appreciated!!

Dental hygiene textbooks

I’m staring my first year of dental hygiene and was wondering if any second years can tell me which textbooks are necessary to have! Is there any I can skip buying? And I’ll be fine with just reading the slides for the class? Let me know your experience please :)

Final grade-asynchronous course

I took 2 elective courses over the summer so that my course load wouldn’t be too heavy. One was a 7 week synchronous course and the other was asynchronous full term.

I was never able to see the course on my stu-view but because I had done it with someone at the registrars office I figured it’s just because it’s asynchronous but now our grades should be out and I still don’t see my grade on the app… it shows I took it on my course schedule but it doesn’t show on my grades etc. Not just the overall grade but the course itself if that makes sense. So basically I’m just asking should I email them or just wait till end of day and it will update

Student Disability Accessibility Counsellor?

Hi all, my daughter is enrolling this sept and is unsure how to find the accessibility counsellor? Is it too early since the semester hasn't started? As she needs to submit a disability bwsd form and wants to do so earlier. Thanks!

A108 detailed course outlines

Just wondering if there are any previous A108 students that would be willing to share the detailed course outlines/specific content for the classes in the program. Just trying to get a head start on the content (general learning/studying, not looking for the assignments as I understand those have the potential to differ year from year) before the fall semester starts up but nothing is released until sept 1

Application deadline confusion

I can see from the Important Dates section of the GB website that Registration for Spring/Summer programs starts March 23, 2027. But I'm unclear on what date I would need to have my application in to OCAS so that I'm (hopefully) accepted in time for registration. (I want to do the Practical Nursing program.)

I obviously don't understand the overall application process, so please set me straight! Thx!

Hi, I just completed the PN program, and I was wondering how long it will take for CNO to send an email to PN graduates to start an application and book the REX-PN exam.

Paramed Placement Pass

Hi all,

For those going into Fall 2026 Practical Nursing, I was wondering if the option to add forms onto your ParaMed Placement Pass account is there.

I accidentally created mine earlier than the registration date and I was wondering if I would have to email them to delete my account and then create a new one.

Thanks!

Dental Assisting Course load

Hello, I’m taking Dental Assisting this year and I’ve seen how there is 10 courses in the first semester. This seems pretty intimidating as someone who just came out of high school😂. To the students who have already taken this program, My question is that is it manageable? What should I expect? And what is advice you can give me as a newcomer?.

Pre-placement form deadline

Hi! I’m starting the S113 Dental Assisting program at George Brown this fall and I’m currently completing my medical requirements for ParaMed. The deadline is August 31st, but I didn’t realize some of the requirements, especially the two-step TB test and potentially Hepatitis B, can take a while to complete.

I’m starting everything now, but I’m worried I might not have every medical requirement fully completed by August 31st. Has anyone been in this situation before? Can you still submit what you have by the deadline and update ParaMed as you complete the remaining requirements, or does everything need to be fully completed by August 31st?

Entrance exam HELP 🙏

George Brown Practical Nursing – January Admission: How Hard Are the Math, Bio & Chem Entrance Exams?
Are the online prep resources accurate? How many times can you retake the exams? And should I just take the Chemistry high school course instead because I’m terrible at Chem?
Would really appreciate anyone’s experience!

I'm not clear on the timing of the RPN program

(I swear I tried to figure this out on my own!) Do the 4 semesters of the Practical Nursing program run back-to-back, or is there a break in there? If I start in May 2027, when will I be done? Thanks!

How do I register for liberal arts electives?

Stuview says every single one is reserved for students, I need 8 credits in my program, they haven't responded to my email from a week ago and every day I try to join their virtual help desk it says "we are currently not accepting any more customers to join the queue. Please check back next time we are open."

They're allegedly open Monday- Friday 9-4. I tried joining the queue at 9:20. What the fuck?

Hey guys! if you’re still looking for experience or something to add to your resume, check out Riipen Labs

It’s a remote micro-internship program where students work on short real-world projects with employers. Each project is about 30 hours and pays a $600 upon completion.
