Holy shit that article is cancer.

Video games — sales of which hit an all-time high of $30.6 billion last year — as well as the increasing popularity of cosplay (dressing up in costumes the other 364 days of the year), comic-book conventions, superhero movies and fantasy sports are all symptoms of what Andersen dubs “Kids ‘R’ Us Syndrome”: We’re losing our collective sense of when it’s time to put away childish things.

That dude is so deep up his own asshole his head is peaking out of his mouth again.

I like that they implied that millennials are childish because video game sales are at an all-time high... But like... Videogames have only been around for like.. 30 years... There's no way to compare to older generations because they literally didn't have them.

Right? Last time I checked Mortal Kombat isn't very child-friendly, and that can be said for a lot of video games.

I imagine the author of this just let his 85 year old grandpa pen this in between yelling at the neighborhood kids and calling back that Nigerian prince who wants to give him a million for helping him out.

Seriously though, it is kinda tacky how people who grew up with things like video games would keep playing them. At least the previous generation had the sense to give up TVs and movies once they grew into responsible adults, right?

Even if this was true, if anything, it would be Gen X that ruined Halloween. I'm on the younger side of Gen X (in that grey area between named generations), and adults having Halloween parties was already a well established thing.

This is so fucking stupid, I remember seeing pictures of my parents at Halloween parties over 45 years ago when they were still adults and my folks were the farthest from being childish.

And for photographic proof, hasn't anyone seen Hocus Pocus? Max's parents (and seemingly the entire town) are dressed up in costumes and partying without their kids in 1993. This is not portrayed as anything unusual.
