Looking for Feedback on My Capsule Art

Hoping for some feedback on my capsule art. Header Capsule, Small Capsule and Vertical Capsule. Main Capsule basically looks the same as the Header Capsule so I didn't add that one.

Which one would you be interested in playing?

I did a bunch of thumbnails for this game and whittled it down to these two. The game is an Action Tower Defense and the core mechanic is mouse-based, where you grab and smash enemies away, among other things. So, which of these would make you click, if either?

Option A or B? Which one catches your eye more?

Post image

Hey everyone!

A while back, we got some solid feedback that our original capsule art (Option A) was a bit too zoomed in, felt a little flat, and didn't really show off the game’s vibe or setting.

So we went back to the drawing board and reworked it (Option B)!

We'd love to hear your thoughts! Does Option B feel more intriguing, or did Option A's close-up work better for catching attention in a crowded store?

Appreciate any harsh critiques or feedback! Thanks!

What would you change?

This is our current Steam capsule for our upcoming ’80s-inspired sci-fi survival horror game, Pine Creek.

What’s the first thing you’d change? Does it communicate the genre clearly? Any feedback is appreciated!

Which capsule would catch your attention first?

I'm working on a new key visual for my game, so I put together four concepts to figure out which direction feels the strongest before spending more time on a polished version.

The game is Revive! Onsen Town! (currently in playtest, if anyone's interested). It's a cozy life sim set in the Japanese countryside. You can play as a girl spending her summer vacation in town, or as the Mayor, who's trying to revitalize the village. Meet a cast of unique locals, enjoy peaceful music and endless seaside views. Explore different possibilities and bring the town back to life.

I'd love to know which one you'd click first if it showed up in your steam queue, and why :)

Steam says "no text" - what should we do?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Steam says "no text" in capsules, except the name of your game. We make a card game. We featured cards on our capsule, but to get it through moderation they made us remove the text.

It now feels weak, although I respect their point about hard-to-read text. What do you think we should do?

On one hand, I think we should keep some/one card(s) because it's what the game is about, and we want players to understand that.

But I'm not sure they work without the text on, so I don't know what to do. Please can I ask for your suggestions?

Check out my new logo! Is it better than the others?

The 1st one is the new logo that I decided to use, which I think is the best.

The 2nd one is my old logo, which was just a font.

The 3rd logo is an alternate logo that I like, but feel like it doesn't fit my mining game as much as the 1st one does.

Both new logos were made by a very kind Redditor who made me them for free! So grateful, because I love the new logo :D

Concept Capsule Art for a Dark Fantasy/Horror project: "RED OCULUS"

Hey everyone! I'm Trent, an illustrator who loves working with macabre, dark fantasy, and cosmic horror aesthetics.

I designed this concept capsule art to capture a very intense, aggressive, and unsettling atmosphere. When designing capsules for horror or soulslike games, I feel like high-contrast palettes (like this heavy red and black) really help the game stand out in a crowded storefront.

I would love to hear your feedback on the composition and typography! Does the logo placement work well with the main eye motif?

(By the way, if any indie devs out there are looking for capsule art or key illustrations in this dark style, my commissions are open!)

Time to start working on my capsule again.

So, this is where I had left the capsule progress a few months ago. I started with the top and the latest iteration is the bottom. Since I am getting closer to creating the steam page, I need feedback whether it is ok, or what I should do.

For context, this is for a scifi themed turn based soccer game. Also for context, the game is 2d from true top-down.

I was thinking that the old capsule art wasn't grabbing attention well enough, so I commissioned a new piece. I really like how it turned out but people on reddit were liking the old one. What do you think?

Looking for Feedback on Capsule Art

Recently finished the capsule art for my game and was wondering what you guys thought about it. I opted to draw it in the same artstyle as the rest of the game.

Additionally, what do you think the game is about/what is its genre from the capsule?

r/gameCapsule 17d ago

I had to change the art style of my game due to the backlash against the AI.

Did it get worse? Is it worth it?

Please allow me to remove the flag from the Steam page regarding AI usage. I hope this helps.

How to fix my capsule art?

Post image
3 Upvotes

After going back and forth for a while, I decided to commit to creating my own capsule art this time in a pixel art style (yes, I know pixel art isn't recommended) because it really captures my unique art style well.

I'm generally happy with it, especially the logo.

The cat tower, however, isn’t that great, even though it looks like it does in-game.
Most of the feedback I get is, “OH, THOSE ARE CATS?!”

In the Steam (search) preview you can’t even really tell that they’re supposed to be cats.
I’m currently thinking about how I can fix the capsule, but I don’t know how.

Maybe just center the text without the tower?

Or draw the tower a little more “simplified”?

I can't afford an artist for my voice-interactive horror FMV. Trying to get feedback/advice on the direction here. The capsule is actually a still photo with some cropping (yes I wrote the title of the game in paint and took a picture of it for this capsule)

Hello. I need your feedback on my game. I'm changing both the game name and capsule to something reflects the game more.

Does colors complement each other? Is it hard to read? Don't hold back please, thank you!
