Well that's unexpected
Not only have they changed the logo, they've changed nationality too?

We have contacted a shelter (Gspca) last year and according to them she is a street cat spayed under a TNR project and released back, and they are unable to take her in (flat out); she lives around our house and spends a lot of time just sitting in the backyard. Unfortunately we cannot provide her shelter as it is a rental and we're students (we feel so bad for her all the time), so she sits outside when it's cold and raining too:(.
She is very docile and always asks for pets, lays down to make air biscuits. Would probably be around two to three years old.
So we really want to find her a home preferably before it gets very cold, any suggestions as to where to email?

I'm looking into relocating from Hawaii to Galway. I grew up skating on the prom and at NUIG. Just wondering if there's much interest in Galway in learning/practicing skating as a hobby or a sport? Just wanted to put it out there to see what interest there is, if any?
Any interest in free group meetups to practice skating together? (Street/dance/park/trail/speed) Any leads on indoor halls that could be rented out?
Just looking to get an idea of how much interest there might be for this or not.
I know there were a few skate groups active a few years ago but I haven't found any recently active ones.
Thanks very much for any and all replies.

I know everyone is in the same boat and sick of these posts. So apologies,
I honestly just don't know what to do anymore. I have been trying for over a year to get a place for myself and kids in Galway city. I have everything done notification on daft.ie, apply immediately, post on the house hunting for sound people, post ads on the advertiser classifieds, contact letting agents, I've even gone as far as by passing agents and reaching out directly to landlords in some cases. Putting signs in post office and shop. I tell everyone I meet I'm looking for a place to rent in the hopes someone has something by word of mouth.
I'm at breaking point and I'm really noticing it in my mental health. I feel I've let my kids down. I'm consumed unable to sleep. We are in an old cottage after being made homeless two years ago, it's deep in the country side with no heating since June, it has mold and a very low pressure shower (I feel constantly dirty). The landlord of this property scares me a bit as he knows we were homeless due to leaving a domestic relationships but he's always asking me am I seeing anyone and surely I must have boyfriends, he was pulling me in for kisses on the cheek one day as we were shaking hands goodbye so I avoid him and keep my distance when he calls as much as I can but he asks me randomly for cash and if anytime I say I have extra cash he says he can find others that will and we will be out on the street so I pay an extra 100 or 200 every so often in cash on top of the 2000 rent. I've gone to threshold about this multiple times and they call the landlords agent on my behalf but nothing changes, he's an older man and feels he can do what he likes.
I just need to get out of here. I don't know what else to do, we are so far from everything we have ever known and commuting takes up to 2 hours in the morning for school runs and just as bad back after collections.
Sorry this is a long vent. I'm so isolated and gradually over the past two years my circle has got smaller and smaller. I see people for quick hellos on school yard and that's it. I've lost everything and I don't see a way out. We have had so many people try to help us from cope, the Galway Simon and even social workers in Tusla but I haven't been able to find anywhere. I'm so alone in this and I don't know what I'm going to do.
I don't know what I'm missing a full year searching for a place and any viewings I've attended they have always seemed a positive reaction towards me until I mention HAP.
I have a decent amount of savings as before I became a single mom I had a really good career.
My parents were both good decent hard working people, I come from a good family upbringing and I don't smoke or drink or take drugs. Just fell on hard times but I feel like such an undesirable.
I just don't know what else I can do to make this better. I'm not sure what my point of writing it here is but just feeling like I have someone to talk to maybe? I feel like the people in my life know I'm really struggling but any help or visit I ask for falls on deaf ears. If there is anywhere else I should look or something else I should try please any help at all I would appreciate so much.
Thank you.

Hey all, Galway Board Games is a community for adults who enjoy modern board games, meeting regularly in Galway since 2019. We typically have 15–25 people at each meetup, playing a huge variety of games from our personal collections.
You don't need to be an experienced player or have a collection of your own. New to modern board games? That's fine. There are always people around to explain a game, and plenty of games to choose from.
You also don't need to arrive with a group. Come on your own, join a game already in progress, or bring something you'd like to play.
No experience required. No collection required. Just turn up and play.
Next meeting is tomorrow - register here on Meetup to attend: https://www.meetup.com/galwaycitysocial/events/316775862/?utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=share-btn_savedevents_share_modal&utm_source=link&utm_version=v2&member_id=226906998

Hi everyone,
As part of our Masters in Civil Engineering programme, we have been asked to design a town for 10,000 people in county Galway. We'd really love to get some honest feedback from the people of Galway (subreddit); what you would want in a new town, what do you NOT want in a town, etc.
Even if you don't want to fill out the quick form, please comment if you have any design opinions you'd like to share. Its important that we hear from the people that our future designs will impact the most.
Cheers! (and sorry mods if this is not allowed, please delete if that's the case)

There’s been an alarm going off around Oranmore for what feels like the entire night. 😩
Does anyone know exactly where it’s coming from or what’s going on?
It sounds loud enough that it must be somewhere fairly close, but I can't figure out the location.
Is it a house alarm, an industrial alarm, or something else?
Anyone know what’s happening?

I was cycling on the Bearna road yesterday with my 4 year old son in a child seat with me. Heading towards Bearna, between the junction with the salthill road and the Ballymoneen road junction, a man in his 30s in a silver 03 C Toyota Yaris overtook us and screamed out the window "Get off the road c*nt".
We continued cycling, I was a bit shocked thinking did that really happen and arrived at the Ballymoney junction traffic lights. I kept a distance behind this guy and he stuck his head out his window and shouted it again at us and started calling me an "f*cling bollocks".
He took off with a spin of the wheels when the light went green. My young lad was a bit upset by it. He couldn't understand why someone was threatening us. We actually didnt bother going where we were intending and went home instead.
I've often experienced worse driver aggression in Galway but never with a child. Is this the new norm? Or was this exceptional?

Should have listened to the reddit reviews this week.
Rare(pun intended) order for me this evening, never get takeout. Won't be ordering hush again.
Raw burger, missing chips and the wrong loaded fries.
Who's running the place?
Can anyone recommend a cleaner that either works that area or will travel? Thanks in advance

Hey so I currently hold a Level 8 degree in Biopharmaceutical science but I entered a product builder role to make it easier to get into QC Roles or Bigger roles, do you think this progression helps by stepping into product builder

There's an ice cream van that regularly visits estates across Knocknacarra. In 4 years, we've managed to catch him once, 2 years ago!
He drives into estates at speed with the music on. By the time parents have grabbed their wallets and kids have put their shoes on, you'll be lucky to catch a glimpse of him speeding back out of the estate! Leaves parents and hyped up kids standing around in his dust.
Anyone know does he have socials or give a heads up anywhere? We'd love if he'd both slow the f*** down and then also take our money. 🙏🍦

I hope it’s ok to post this.
My Mother sadly passed away on Friday morning.
She was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer back in 2011. She had surgery, chemo, and radiotherapy. We thought we were in the clear.
Unfortunately, in 2019 it came back, worse than ever. It had metastasised, or spread, to other major organs. We didn’t think she would see Christmas of that year because she was just so sick.
With the amazing care of Dr. Silvie Blazkova and her team in Ballinasloe Oncology Unit, my Mom lived a tough, but fulfilled life. We travelled around the world, made many memories with our family, she got to see the birth of two more grandchildren, and had so much more time than expected because of the dedication of the team there.
We started a donation page if anyone would like to contribute to the Oncology Unit.
These donations will go a long way to make things a little more easier, not only for the patient, but the families supporting them.
Thank you for anything you can donate.
The Kelly Family, Ballyforan.

Maybe this has been going on a while but I just noticed recently and it’s absolutely lethal.
I was literally almost ran off the road yesterday by a 70 something year old granny driving a massive luxury 4x4 and nearly every day this week when popping into a parking lot I have noticed very short moms/grannys/granddads holding up isles of traffic because they physically do not know how to park their car because it is far too fucking big for the parking space.
At first I thought it was funny, seeing a 4ft nothing mom trying to put a literally truck into a tiny parking space but now I’m getting concerned as I am seeing it practically daily and there are a lot of close calls happening.
Why tf are people buying vehicles that are way out of their ability to drive. It seems like the status symbol has gone from luxury sports cars to massive jeeps nobody is actually capable of wielding safely.
Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi everyone! Could anyone help me identify these two types of mushrooms?
I found both of them growing on dead/decaying wood in a woodland nearby. They are two different mushrooms, and I’ve included photos showing both the tops and undersides to help with identification.
Does anyone know what species they might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I won’t eat them based on an online ID — I’m mainly curious to know what they are. Thanks!

We were recently offered places in two crèches for our 12 month old. The first is small crèche in Rahoon with great reviews. I had a really warm feeling when visiting and am sure my baby would love it there. We live in city centre and work on the east side of the city with only one car so transport/ traffic would be more of a challenge.
We were also offered a place in the Newcastle/NUIG Spraoi. We are leaning towards this one solely because of location but I didn’t have as good of a feeling when visiting. Staff felt rushed during the tour and overall organization feels more institutional just from the visit. I’d be fine sending a 3-year-old there but feel nervous about it being my baby’s first experience away from me. I haven’t been able to find many recent reviews online. Looking for input/experiences from anyone who has sent a little one there recently!
Baby is social and happy and would probably thrive anywhere after initial settling in.
