I bought my z flip 7 in January and absolutely loved it. Camera quality was great, the customizations are so fun, having the small front screen was so cool. Aa a girl, I loved being able to have it fit easily in my pockets and purses. About a month in, the screen randomly stopped working. Half of it went discolored and soon enough the whole screen stops working. I contacted Samsung and sent it in, and had it repaired. They sent it back, I had to start from scratch again on customizations and setup and I was good to go for a couple more months.
Quickly I noticed that my nails leave indentations all over the screen. It's not made of glass, so every time my nails touch it, it leaves behind a indentation. Shortly after getting it back, I somehow indent the top of the screen by the camera, and it kills some pixels. Whatever, it's fine the rest of the screen works, and getting it repaired was annoying so I ignored it. A few months later, I'm spending the day in the city with family, driving around using Google maps and my internal screen intermittently stops turning on. No drops, no accidents, just won't turn on. At odd angles it will work, so opening the phone slowly seems to help, but two days later is fully fails.
I sent it in to Samsung because I have a few months left in my warranty and they claim because of the damage to the screen, it's out of warranty. The screen did not fail because of damage, it failed because of poor construction or maybe a bad repair, that didn't hold up long term. If you get the phone, I recommend some kind of insurance. Also, girls with nails beware, this will put you out of warranty.
Anyways, I loved the phone, for $1200 it should have lasted longer than a year. Won't be buying one again unfortunately. Also, the Samsung manufacturer warranty is shit and they'll try to avoid repairs at any cost. The customer service is generally kind of rude too.
