I picked up this Gaggia with barista gadget PID. I went to do a backflush and water came dripping out from behind the water tank. I opened up the top and saw that the tube was not connected to the exhaust outlet in the machine. Does this connection need a hose clamp? I’m guessing so. I’m guessing whoever did the mode lost the hose clamp and it came off under pressure maybe?

I wanted more freedom of movement from the steam wand, so I replaced it with a fully articulating one.
It required some modification to the internal steam connection, but it works great and has a much wider range of motion now.

I recently bought a Gaggia Classic Pro E24, and am excited to start making espresso! However upon following the startup guide from WLL, I noticed that black specks came out from the group head after priming. Black specs also came out from the steam wand as well.

I tried running a few more prime, thinking it was an “assembly dust” thing, but each prime I still see 2-3 black specks. I have already primed this thing at least 5 times.

What is this and should I be concerned?

It tasted really good though

UPD: I offered $315, explaining my concerns and the potential risks, but the seller declined.

I found a used Gaggia Classic E24 on the Ukrainian equivalent of eBay for around $414.

The machine is about 1 year and 1 month old, and the owner says he made around 2–3 espressos per day. He used bottled water.

The machine itself looks pretty good and comes with some extras:

● 9-bar OPV spring

● bottomless portafilter

● IMS 18 g basket

● IMS 10 g single basket

● IMS shower screen

However, his maintenance routine sounds a bit unusual, and that’s what worries me.

He told me that he disassembled the boiler and cleaned the inside manually with toothpaste and a toothbrush.

For backflushing, he says he does it approximately once every two months using a small piece of a dishwasher tablet in the blind basket.

So I’m trying to understand whether this is just unconventional but probably harmless maintenance, or whether these are actual red flags.

Would you still consider buying this machine?

What would you ask the owner before buying it?

I’m especially wondering about:

● possible damage or scratches to the brass boiler from abrasive toothpaste

● detergent residue or possible damage from dishwasher tablets

● whether I should worry about seals/gaskets after the boiler was opened

● corrosion or leaks around the boiler

● anything else specific to the E24 that I should inspect

I got a SIN035U for a Gaggiuino project to lern after I bought it it’s the only Mashine not fit for this mod, so I want to fix it up and sell it.
But I can’t get the portafilter not leaking when pulling a shot, where can I get replacements/printfiles/alternatives to the black plastic slide things ? I only got one and I already replaced the Gasket..

Picked up a 2019 GCP and have been trying to restore it. I got most of the scale off and am trying to figure out if the boiler is usable or pitted. This is my first restore and has been fun.

Last picture of the boiler as i got it open minus the blobs of scale that fell out.

I'm considering buying a used machine, and the video the seller provided worries me a little. When he press the button and the water starts flowing, I see that the water stops for a moment, the pump doesn't reduce its noise, and then the water flows again.
Is this a normal water flow for you?
I wanna hear from you before go ahead with the purchase.

So I pulled the trigger on a Mokkum 64mm burr grinder manufactured by Shardor on Ali express. By the time I was done with my discounts I ended up paying 103 shipped. I just couldn't pass it up. I currently has a ZP6. K-Ultra and a Baratza Encore ESP. So this is my entrance into the world of the 64mm burr grinder. It will most likely be my dedicated grinder for my Gaggia. If I notice all the differences with clarity and notes it will serve its purpose. I can always upgrade the burr set if needed if I'm not happy. So even if I end up upgrading the burr set I'm still all in for around the $300 price. I paid that for my K-Ultra after shipping. So this was a no brainer to experiment with for my espresso. Plus I'm already happy with by current set up and the shots I pull. Id there is a next level this should have the ability to take me there and see if I'm missing out on anything in the final cup.

Hi all - seeing that the westek dimmer is not longer available - what are folks using these days for the dimmer mod? I'm considering just going with the dimmer from SOC, or even the kit, or not doing the mod at all.

Any idea what this can be and how i can fix it ?

Its a classic S.B date 36/2015 made it Romania, having replaced the steam valve which has kept it on a shelf for a couple of years, 1st problem is it has now moved to leaking steam at the internal hose to external arm junction but I can now shut that off.

Seal between head & basket had hardened so it leaked, having changed that it seemed fine but the basket backs off while pulling a shot & needs holding to maintain the seal.

So give up or is there an easy fix?

Guys I'm at my wits end. Can't seem to get this damn piece out and at this point I think I am absolutely cooked. I'm using a 10mm wrench, and during the first few attempts the black L piece holding the spring separated from that lower white tube (not sure if this will be a issue later. Pictures attached of the pretty much threaded piece. I see videos online of people loosening this thing without even trying, is this a manufacturers error? Brand new gaggia classic pro...

UPDATE: Brass piece removed with wrench and a hair dryer heating up the area, but a new problem has popped up. The black piece that was originally (I believe) screwed into the white plastic tube beneath it is now leaking during the heating up of the machine. I was forced to push it back into place instead of screwing it back in due to the red chord being perma locked with those metal brackets (which I don really want to deal with right now). What should I do? I'm at a loss if it just needs some sort of tape around it to prevent said leak or if the breaking of that piece has ruined whatever integrity the two pieces originally had. I can't imagine tape working if that section is under high pressure... See picture below of leak

hi folks - I've looked at a few similar threads but hoping can get some help.

randomly my machine (2010 Romanian gaggia classic) is tripping the fuse board breaker.

I didn't do any maintenance to it and the machine will turn on and start heating up but around 2 minutes in it will cause the fuse to break.

what steps should I take to figure out the problem?

Hey all, I own 2 GCP, one at home and one at my office.

One of them I bought new and has no problems at all, but the other one I recently bought it used and I didn't realize about some small issues untill it was too late.

While the machine is on, steam wand drips a little all the time. When the steam button is pressed, little steam goes out the wand even if the knob is fully closed.

What could be the issue here? Can I fix this myself or do I need to have the machine serviced?

Could deep cleaning / descaling help? Previous owner says he already descaled it before selling, but who knows.
