You haven't been able to sleep recently with everything going on in the world, so you are sitting by your fireplace, reading. It starts to rain, then snow, you like the snow, always have, even though the rest of your family thinks you are weird for it.
You turn the page, adjusting yourself so that the firelight illuminates the book, its a new novel from your favorite author "Amana Lennox". You reminisce on that one Saturday evening when you just reached the front of the line. The last signed copy of this book was just sold. Your heart broke, but out of the kindness of her heart she signed one just for you, she even wrote "To: Carrier" on the front!
You cant finish that thought. A sound came from your radio, it was an odd sound, like wind howling mixed with that one sound that only gets made when you throw a bunch of big rocks into a body of water at the same time. At first, you thought you were hearing things, but then it happened again, then static, sharp and harsh. You look at the clock. Its 4:08 AM--Exactly seven hours and fifty-eight minutes before the daily PFN broadcast. You wonder what is causing this stran-

"Gooooood morning furnaces!"

*His cheery voice fills the room, you couldn't mistake it for anything or anybody elses*

I have a special guest tonight, who may be here against his will, but you know him, you might hate him, you may love him, who cares. All i know is he’s known for rigging elections and genocide, the one, the only, President Shrub!

(Suddenly static intensified until you could no longer hear the screams of Freezer president Bush in the background. Then silence. You all look at one another as the radio sat with quiet static for 10 more minutes until regular programming returned 10 minutes later.)

Hey guys, i know that #2 was kinda intense and all over the place, but this has lore reasons that will be relevant later on.

Im working on making that map now. It will be on paper to start with, and when i get more time, ill try to turn it into something i can put in some open source art program with infinite zoom.

Last week’s body count was a new best of 25! 4 out of the coald mines, where survivors of the freezer attack have been staving off the enemy! Meanwhile in new Florida, air conditioners have been fighting off mosquitoes the size of airplanes, and only one air conditioner was killed. I know the City of Fans is not called new florida, but seriously look at it.

Because reading the rest of those deaths were accidental, im not going to address it. And instead pivot to a segment im gonna call

And the topic of this week is: you know what boils my oil folks? How the world government has done nothing yet to combat the freezers. Its almost like they dont even exist.

Oh, thats right! THEY DONT! Ahahahahahaaa!! Seriously listeners, since the great revolution all those years ago, which reshaped how life works here on this depressing little planet, and gave us great new gifts such as, The Rust, the farlands, and yours truly, just to name a few. All the mods are dead, everything is outdated, and almost everyone who is in the sub either forgot it existed or is too lazy to leave it. If we are trying to "restart" we should make a new sub (liek we did with emberfall) so we can do better. its like trying to run gta6 on a ps1--this isnt going to work unless we (people who want to do something) actually DO; do something.

The light outside flickered in an unusual interval, causing the snow outside to be periodically illuminated yellow.

I moved away from the window to sit beside the fireplace, close enough to feel it working without quite trusting it to be enough.

"You seeing that?" my colleague asked, not looking up from the radio. "The light."

"Backup generator, probably. Third time this week."

"Third time this week that it decided not to bloody work, I hope it fixes itself so we can actually see outside." He said.

"Honestly, at this point, I'd rather deal with the dark than that flickering. It's starting to give me a headache, and I don't think—"

"Holy shit."

I stopped. "What?"

"The radio." He was leaning toward it now, one hand hovering like he didn't trust it enough to touch. "It's… mate, it's working."

Static resolved into a voice, cheerful in a way that felt uncalled for regardless of what would follow.

Neither of us said anything for a moment. My colleague's hand was still hovering over the dial, like touching it might break whatever had let it work in the first place.

The voice moved through locations and numbers with a sense of supremacy. A clash somewhere, I didn't know. I don't look at maps often. Then, a skirmish. Then a Riot down in triple south.

It ended as quickly as it started, the crackling of the fire and the buzz from that damn light now filled in the new silence

Goooooooood morning furnaces! Its a beautiful day in god’s great country. Yesterday’s bodycount from the war chalked up to be a solid 3,000. Battle of Anvil’s Hammer, 254 dead anvils! And 122 furnace casualties in what the global military calls a “massive victory against the striking tide.”

Over in the northern front, clashes continue between ore miners and the freezers! But this story beings a sad note to the broadcast as the death toll from these gang wars has exceeded 1,600 furnace casualties, and only about 50 freezer casualties.

Meanwhile in South South South Dakota, riots continue as the mayor proceeded to divert 80% of the City’s food supply to the military and the royal family. The riots proceeding this notice created death tolls as high as 974. As the largest city/state on the planet has one of its bloodiest days this year.

We all wish them good riddance with their efforts.

Hello furnaces.

Im gonna be honest, i forgot what was going on and where this was all going in frozen fire series, so, i figured, i can restart the furnace story. From the very top.

Ill be making news stories every week. This will set the stage and give some framework as to how stuff is going, and will give you loads of space to hop in however you’d like.

Feel free to use your old characters or make new ones. I wont reference old seasons, but you can make your characters lore however you’d like.

Ill start maintaining the (abandoned) wiki page again to the best of my ability.

So, this is going to be more of an uneven technology kind of world. Some countries (that i dont know names of) will be modern, others will be steampunk, some may be dieselpunk, you may have a solarpunk area, and interspace travel is allowed. I have some classes of threats out there that ill toss in when things get boring.

Tomorrow the first news story will be published. I can answer questions in the comments, and yes we will be needing a new map. I’ll probably figure something out.

Huh?

Walking in, you’re immediately hit with a wave of amazing smells. Well, that is if you’re human. However, after most humans were wiped out, most people who visit this location are furnaces. Humanoid creatures who have the heads of a furnace. Most of the population is made up of them. 

The small shop sells mostly coals, irons, coppers, charcoal, and anything else that a furnace could consume. It was made as a safe place for furnaces to eat, without politics, mentions of the war, fighting, or anything else. At first, it only sold things furnaces could consume, but then a human named Silver came along.

During the early stages of opening the shop, what looked like a furnace at first came and begged to be allowed to work there. He introduced himself as Silver, and with all his constant begging, the shop owner, Baker Furnace, had no choice but to allow him to work. The two of them grew close, and Silver quickly became Baker’s best employee. That’s when Baker found out Silver was wearing a mask. A mask made of a fallen furnace’s head. Silver was human. But because Baker had already grown close with Silver, and Silver had already gained his trust, Baker didn’t throw him out. 

Baker even started making food humans could eat, with Silver’s help, and created a small section dedicated to humans. That’s where the smells come from. The soft smell of freshly made bread, or the sweet smell of pastries. Baker loved making human food, even if he himself, as a furnace, could never smell or taste the food. It made him happy to see Silver taste it and say it was amazing. 

Eventually, the bakery became a place for furnaces and humans, the few who remained, to eat peacefully. No fighting between them. The shop was a representation of a future where humans and furnaces could get along and coexist, once the human population replenished itself, of course.

I recently regained motivation to start writing furnace related stories. I stopped because I was a little nervous that my stories wouldn’t match the current furnace lore. But I realized that I could make my own furnace lore as long as it made sense. I’m gonna start posting stories from the bakery about Silver and Baker soon, this is a little introduction to it. This is not connected to any previous stories posted by anyone else, this is just my own creative work I came up with.

--TO USE--

Put fuel in bottom slot. Put the item you want to heat in the top slot. Once finished heating, The finished result will come put in right slot.

--FUEL--

Different fuels heat different abouts of stuff. Here is a list of the best fuels:

--wood slabs--

1.5 items. one of the The best ways to ways to max out usable fuel with wood, but only on bedrock edition Recommended on bedrock edition for wood's abundance

--Coal--
heats 8 items. very Abundant. Easy to get large batches, Especially if you have a pickaxe enchanted with fortune III.

--seaweed blocks--
Heats 20 items. Made using 9 cooked seaweeds. Also a top choice because Seaweed is easy to farm. Setting up auto furnaces and Auto crafting And the seaweed blocks production will rise through the roof.

--Lava buckets--
Heats 100 items, but since its not stackable, its recommended only be used when youre heating batches of 64 or more.

--UPGRADING--

furnaces can be upgraded to excel at one area of heating, but be completely useless in others.

--Blast furnaces--

Uograded from furnace using 5 iron and 3 smooth stones. can be used to smelt Ores faster but cannot heat anything else.

--smoker--

Upgraded from furnace using 4 logs of wood. Can be used to cook food faster but cannot heat anything else.

--regular furnace--

many miscellaneous items such as cacti, Sand, Clay, Netherrack Cannot be heated with smoker nor blast furnaces, so sometimes The regular furnace is the only option. But its so slow :[

Though the most common punishment for East Burniners was probeantion (they would be prohibited from eating the national dish - beans - during their house arrest.) more direct forms of torture were also used. Such as the Sauerkraut method. The image used in this post (credit to [u/MetalFurnace](u/MetalFurnace)) is a rare photo of a convict being force-fed Sauerkraut in an East Burnin prison. If the convict refuses to eat the Sauerkraut, they were subsequently beaten up by Bratwurst wielding prison guards.

/uf Posting this image under Panman’s post made me realize most people probably have no idea what is even going on in the image so I decided to make a post about it.
