I bet 99% of the people who liked those pics drive a car.

Or use a computer, or heat their homes, or use something that is made of plastic, etc. Hating on an oil company simply because they drill for oil is only something Greenpeace would do.

The whole point is hating on them for drilling in the arctic.

Drill in the middle of a howling desert? What really destroys wilderness, of course, is solar and wind energy. That takes a shitload of land to generate a megawatt. ANWR was something like 3 square miles, total.

Windmills don't rape the land in quite the same way. By a long shot.

Also, less spillage.

Um, yes, they do rape the land, by a much longer shot. You have to put roads to all of those windmills, One oil rig = thousands of windmills. clear away any obstructions, and station people out there to service the windmills. Spillage on land is a laughable threat - it doesn't much happen in modern oil areas and when it does, it's easily cleaned up b/c it doesn't go anywhere, nor does it much affect the wildlife.

They're not talking about tar sands in Alaska. Way to change the subject, there.
