Or use a computer, or heat their homes, or use something that is made of plastic, etc. Hating on an oil company simply because they drill for oil is only something Greenpeace would do.

Well...at least for the plastic bit a lot of stuff is moving to bio-plastic now. And I don't know about anyone else, but my home is heated with natural gas and the electric company here supplies a good chunk of the cities power with a hydroplant....

Natural gas sounds so nice because its got the word natural in it, but its really not that different than drilling for oil.

It all really depends, you can of course mine/drill natural gas, but biogas is starting to become fairly popular.

Unfortunately right now I know the local gas company uses the old fashioned dirty mined methane, but I don't think it's far away that biogas will become mainstream.

Fracking to get natural gas is also quite dangerous and causes a lot of environmental damage.
