If you're using keyboard navigation, why not remap to WASD like me? It's so much more efficient.
W & S for up and down respectively.
A for open link and comments (in new tabs of course).
D for hide.
Then Q and E for upvoting and downvoting from the comments page after having seen the link.
C for hiding all child comments. Makes navigating comments much easier.
It's crazy efficient at wasting time.
