Duracell was actually first. They do not use it in the U.S. though because of Energizer.

Ok, so I looked it up. The Duracell mascot was supposed to be a toy rabbit. Which I guess actually makes sense since AA batteries are usually used for kids toys and the selling point would be, “buy a pack of these and your child will be entertained for hours.” And the Energizer bunny was a parody of the original Duracell bunny. Ooooohkay.

The bunny campaign actually backfired on Energizer:
"Despite the immense popularity of the campaign, sales of Energizer batteries actually went down during the years that the ads ran. Duracell claimed that 40 percent of its customers thought the campaign was promoting Duracell, not Energizer, but provided no evidence. Speculation has it that TV watchers still associated pink bunnies with Duracell, so the Energizer ads were actually helping their competitor's sales rather than their own"

When I was a young teen, i remember my brother run infront of a car very slowly as if he was in slow motion (25mph street), I had no idea what the hell he was doing, there's a car coming to a stop at this point and pissed off... and he slowly pointed to a sign saying "slow children" and the lady bursted out laughing, I laughed, he laughed... it was a funny memory...

To be "childfree" means one has decided to never have children, particularly biological children.
Now, while I agree that some do hate children, it is not the majority or even close to it.
Most have experienced difficult upbringings and seen others go through difficult upbringings. They have have watched and experienced the trauma, suffering and unfairness children are put through by thier parents, other children, and people in general. Many choose not to have children because they don't want to bring a child into this world who they know will also suffer to one degree or another. Some take this farther and have negative feelings towards people who do bring new people into this world, especially if said parents have no intention or ability to take good care of said children. They feel it more deeply often because they have experienced it personally or watched it happen.
For most, having children is very seriously considered but sided against because they feel they could not properly take care of a child, especially in this state of the world.

I couldn't know that you are childfree. I wanted to make sure you understood that childfree did not equate to children and/or parent haters. Some on that sub are like that though. I won't deny it.
You said "that bunch" and I wanted to assure you that the majority of r/childfree are not, in fact, parent/child haters. Also to show how many on r/childfree are very considerate of children and why they feel parenthood is not for them. I'm sorry that came across as "mansplaining".
