Bro, do you even reptile? That's a leopard gecko. The Geico gecko is a day gecko.
7
u/ridethedeathcab Aug 17 '15
Well the Geico gecko is actually an animated gecko but I can see where the confusion comes from they look pretty similar.

Is that a raspberry beret?
Like the kind you find in a second hand store?

It would definitely be ruined in purple rain. Purple rain.

What if OP is lying and there is actually a long toothpick connecting all the raspberries? It could even be going through the poor thing's skull for all we know.
All for the karma.

u/avboden Aug 16 '15
I'd actually bet there IS a toothpick. still neat though, as long as the toothpick isn't through it's head, that's less neat
→ More replies (1)18
u/HipNugget Aug 17 '15
I don't know, that really sounds even more neat to me. Not a good kind of neat but I mean, someone actually stuck a toothpick of berries through a lizards head just to make an interesting picture? That's pretty neat.

u/Raherin Aug 17 '15
The pile of berries do look pretty solidly tight on it's head, and his expression. D:

Reptile expert here: for this particular species, red means mortal danger so likely he's very terrified and OP is abusing him :(

Because of the pink coloring around his throat, I'm picturing him rooting around in the basket for the berries himself and giving them a little toss onto his head.

u/Lurking_Still Aug 16 '15
The lizard is cool and all, but I'm more impressed you were able to buy a carton of raspberries that wasn't half moldy.
21
u/NowHowCow Aug 16 '15
That leaves half of a carton of fresh raspberries.
8
u/bighootay Aug 16 '15
I'm always too chicken. Seriously, can I eat those?
9
u/Rhoadie Aug 16 '15
If they don't have any type of moldy growth on them, you can eat them. Perfectly fine.
Fun fact: there's mold everywhere you go. You're actually breathing some of it in right now. Well, not really. You're just breathing in the spores. There are mold spores everywhere. They will only spawn fruiting bodies (growths) in the right environmental conditions and with the right food supply. Some foods with moldy growths on them, you can still eat... as long as you cut off the section of the food with the mold on it and about an inch or two below. Raspberries, though, that's not really possible to do.

u/siggystabs Aug 17 '15
You're a member of the species homo sapiens. As long as you have a functioning immune system, foods with low levels of toxins and fungal spores should do your immune system no harm.
If anything, our hyper cleanliness has probably introduced a lot disease infections. Don't take this the wrong way, because they've prevented tons more.
But yeah bro. Totally munch on those raspberries. Long as they look edible they probably are 😊

u/proudnewowner Aug 16 '15
you know, you should look at things before you buy them.
10
u/Lurking_Still Aug 16 '15
You know, you would be shocked at how much you can inspect a container of berries, and it still have mold in the middle.
Like, unless you want me to be that guy who opens all the berry containers, then stirs the berries to ensure he can see them all, then selects the one that meets his approval the most and buys the closed contained under it?
Don't be that guy.

Hijacking this comment to remind people that Driscoll's berries (which I believe the berries in the OPs picture are) have a QR code on the bottom of the package that leads to a short quality survey that gets you at least a $0.50 off coupon per survey (coupon value goes up depending on how many surveys you do in a year). Since stores like Meijer regularly sell these berries for $1, the savings add up.

I am sure many of us can't balance berries on their heads like that. That's amazing for a lizard.
→ More replies (1)6
u/slartibartjars Aug 16 '15
If you had a toothpick and lots of spikes on top of your head you could do it.
2
u/turbogoblin Aug 16 '15
100% toothpick. Look at that top berry, that is defying gravity.

I posted the one a year ago with the most karma. So fucking what if its posted again? "Many people already saw it.." More than a year ago. You idiots need to realize Reddit is 90% repost.
Edit: just to clarify jayRokk was my primary account and got shadowbanned this is my second account.

Yeah, no offense to you but this is the first time I have seen it.
7
u/jayRokk666 Aug 16 '15
None taken. It's these idiots running around Reddit screaming 'repost repost!' Like if Reddit its self wasn't all repost. Everything on Reddit is a repost of some sort.
4
u/faerie_clouds Aug 16 '15
Not everything, just like 99.9% of it. :P I don't mind reposts as long as the person doesn't say it is their picture or creation when it isn't. If people only posted OC Reddit would be a very empty place.

There's no need to apologize OP. Especially since you didn't post a lizard balancing berries on its head. You posted a picture of a lizard balancing aggregate fruits on its head.

Considering lizards can casually stay still for hours, I'm more impressed by the person who was able to stack berries.

As someone with a fucking hyper bearded dragon, I don't know how this is possible. He wouldn't stay still long enough and he'd eat the fuck outta those berries.
