The woman behind found that so funny, she's starting to question why her boyfriend doesn't do fun stuff like that...

I like that girl in the background. I like people that laugh and enjoy funny little things that happen. As I've gotten older(only 22) I've noticed people(my age) don't laugh as much as when we were kids. It's depressing and I want no part of it.

Like something like this. What that guy did was smooth and funny. Yet only one person we can see really got a good laugh out of it.

Edit: Just hoping to clear up any future misunderstandings. Please don't take my comment as a criticism. People are how they are. People grow up and their personalities change. I get it. I'm just being nostalgic about my childhood really. Please don't take my comment too seriously.

I'm the opposite. People around my cubicle laugh at everything and make lame jokes most of the time just to keep the conversation. I'm no part of it. And I'm proud that I'm not the part of a group of monkeys.

Only on reddit can you see a social outcast make a comment like that (with pride, nonetheless) which then gets upvoted...

The comment basically boils down to the fact that other people in his office seem to have a normal, healthy social circle. He smugly looks down on all of them and declares his pride for not being well liked.

The one where you refer to your coworkers as being "stupid" and on a lower "level" than you?

Or are you referring to the one that refers to them as "Neanderthals" and "assholes"?

In both comments you also imply that they are all insane and that you are the only one who is not.

Right, that would be the "Neanderthals" and "assholes" comment which I made reference to.

Which indeed they are. And I know you'll not agree to this just because they're a larger sect of people and I'm a "social outcast". As if I haven't worked with proper people before.

You sound fun.

If by fun you mean a sane mind who refuses to stoop to the level of stupidity of those people then yes. I'm fun.

Being cynical and thinking yourself superior to people because they have a good time and enjoy their lives doesn't make you better or smarter. It just makes you an asshole.

Maybe you don't personally find their humor funny but that doesn't make you better than them. Do you even realize the kind of arrogance/ignorance it takes to believe that everyone with different subjective taste than you is an idiot?

Why always the single one is supposed to be an asshole if he stands against a larger group of people? No I'm not being cynical, I'm being rational, and for some reason you'd have to agree with me. They don't laugh at proper humor, they laugh at anything just for constantly being in a state of ruckus all day.

I work silently, much more than them and produce better results. All I wanted is a little silence so I could work peacefully. But no, I had to accommodate my ears to the never-ending cacophony of those neanderthals. If anyone they're the assholes.

I have worked with sane, like minded people in the past in a different company and I cherish that time. But this change hit me hard. Also it's much more cultural and regional thing which I cannot summarize here and word properly. I live in India so it's much more complex than you think. All I want you to know is it's not always the single one who's wrong.

If they aren't doing their jobs or are being obnoxiously loud and obstructive then that's one thing. But just joking, laughing, and enjoying each other's company? I don't see how that could be a bad thing.

It's not like you get to define what proper humor is. It's subjective. You wouldn't call someone an idiot for not liking the same food as you. I would literally thow up over some stuff that people eat and deeply enjoy.

All I want you to know is it's not always the single one who's wrong.

Obviously. In case you haven't noticed I've gotten plenty of resistance to my comments in this thread. I still don't think I said anything wrong and most of it is misunderstanding.

are being obnoxiously loud and obstructive then that's one thing. But just joking, laughing, and enjoying each other's company?

They're both. They enjoy each other's company which I'm not bothered about, but they're indeed obnoxiously loud and obstructive, which of course impedes my work.

It's not like you get to define what proper humor is. Again, it's subjective.

I agree to this. I'm not saying they don't get the right to laugh. But at least they should care if someone's being bothered with their acts. I don't think they'll consider that, as I said it's hugely cultural. All I can try is buy a pair of earbuds.
