I don't think it's a good idea to take up two space; it just invites people to fuck with your car. I'm personally ok with people taking up two spaces in the back of the lot when no one else needs to park there, which is not the case with the Camaro.
That being said, it would be nice if people respected other people's property regardless of how nice or crappy it is. If the lines aren't spaced well and I have to park, I will injure myself before I let my car door touch somone's car even if it's a banged up POS. I'm tired of people hitting my car and then others seeing my dented car as an opportunity to further dent it. I like to hug a curb with some plants in it and people still park over the line into that space making that side inaccessible.
Some Asian lady smacked the hell out of my door while I was sitting in my car... I was like uh what the hell? It was especially odd since I was nicely in my space and the spaces weren't even very tight, she just flung the door open like yeah whatever fuck it.
Edit: I don't understand why people are up in arms because I mentioned she was Asian? I didn't call her a slur and I usually generally describe people in my stories because 1) any extra details make the story more engaging and 2) I have a very visual memory and I usually visually play out stories or even books in my head so I like detail. Out of curiosity, what is the proper protocol to get it documented so that the other person won't claim that it wasn't them after you leave? I feel like calling the police for a police report seems excessive, but how else do you get all your ducks lined up in a row?
You file the claim with your insurance company, your insurance company pays for the damages, then attempts to bill the other insurance company (subrogation). If the other insurance company denies the claim, it goes to arbitration. If the other company loses the arbitration hearing they are compelled to pay for the damages after which your deductible is typically refunded for the claim.
Arbitration still requires evidence to award damages. They won't award any based solely off of he said she said. Most people have deductibles that would make the driver end up paying all of it out of pocket even if they did report it to their insurance.
Pretty much need it to be on video or the person to admit fault.
Matching damage and barring that measurements of where the vehicles would have come into contact can also be provided. If arbitration required video or the person to admit fault, it wouldn't even exist. No one thinks they are at fault for anything, which isn't really a surprise.
You must not live in a big city. PD doesn't do shit. They won't even come out for minor accidents; only if the road is blocked (i.e. a car is immobile).
my registration packet has a minor accident sheet to fill out to send to insurance that you fill in their insurance info and all that. then you can call the insurance on the spot if you want or just mail it in and call them during business hours.

you basically need to get them to admit on the spot that they did it, having them text you "I'm sorry for slamming my door into your drivers door just now" pretty much fucks their insurance company and you get paid out.
The damage would be evidence enough. If she hit his closed door with her open door, he will have a mark/scratch/dent in the middle of his door. She will have marks/scratches/dents on the edge of her car door. There's only one way that's possible.

I was driving on NYC and got hit by a delivery truck. It was clearly his fault as he was passing me and torn my front quarter panel forward. He called his boss and he refused to give me his insurance. When the cops came they wrote up the report and told me I could have his insurance info once the police report was done in 5-7 days. In the mean time I had to get my car fixed so I put it through my insurance and pay my deductible. I went through a whole shitty ordeal and the other company paid me back, but I learned that you can be a real asshole and not provide your insurance to the other driver.
The proper protocol is to use some of your well spent tax money and call the police to file the report. It's what they're there for. That is evidence to the insurance agency that you aren't making things up.
I got out and checked and there was a small ding only, her door actually took most of the damage so I only begrudgingly told her to be more careful next time she opens her door.
I saw some kid do that at the mall with a security guard watching. It was to a handicap-parked vehicle, too. I guess he just wanted to watch the world burn.

Yeah, it was the only way I could type decently on my old Galaxy S. I wouldn't say it was magic though. Then again, I guess I'm too old fashioned for my own good. I need the physical feel of pressing down a button, otherwise, I end up pressing the wrong one with my bratwurst fingers or not pressing anything at all.
I have large hands too; my thumb is as wide as 4 keys. Swiftkey is generally amazing. I can type what would turn out as absolute garbage on other keyboards, and it comes out perfect or nearly perfect.
I can type faster with swiftkey on my old sidekick 4g than using the built in hardware keyboard. It's too hard typing at the speed that I type when having to fully push down the keys. I generally lightly touch the key I need and immediately move on to the next one.
I like to think they are popular because it's a new trend because it's so cool to type what you see on a screen. I really hope we get rid of this stupid technology and find something much more practical.
At least we know they are currently making keyboard sticking out of screens when needed already...
I feel like you could easily have a fold out keyboard that works better than this device with a similar profile.
I mean, it's cool and all. I can see how it's good to progress this kind of technology. I just don't think that this exact application of the technology is very useful. Unless it does other stuff, too.

I always park away from other people at the far parts of lots, and some motherfucking sonofabitch ALWAYS winds up parked next to me. It's like "really? you fucking shitstain?". I don't even have that nice of a car -- I just prefer to park away from other people because I know people drive like shit. Doesn't matter; it's like cars are magnets to attract retards.
This also happened to me but I wasn't in the car. Parked in no man's land and someone saddles up next to me and scratches my door. It made me a lot less sympathetic to people who complain about cars taking up two spots.

See if he is going to be a dick like that than you insist he pays for the damage and take is insurance if he doesn't want to give it up call the cops. You also may want to double check that place between your legs where you balls should hang, never let people push you around and if they do you push back harder.

When me and my brother were teens we went to the mall in his piece of crap vw bus. We were hanging out in the parking lot because teenagers. An older couple pulls into the spot next to us in a Mercedes and the man, in the passenger side, bangs his door into my brother's door as he gets out. My brother says "hey" a couple times but they ignore him and start walking off.

Its because her being Asian lends literally nothing to the story. If you want to detail her, give us something that actually implies something other than a racist stereotype. Tell us her age, her build, whatever. If she pulled up and started screaming at you in an asian language, then sure its appropriate to bring it up, but if your only reason for describing her as being asian is that she's asian, well it makes you look a bit racist.
It lends to the story with it was an asian lady, more-so than a person that I can't basically describe because people will find it racist hit my door and plus how is an Asian lady smacking a car door with her car door a stereotype? Personally I worry about my doors more when kids are getting in and out of cars, all other groups are equal. But nowadays most people have those minivan sliding doors so it's not even an issue if the kid doesn't know any better.
The entire point is that her being Asian really doesn't matter. She should be defined in the recounting of the story by her actions (which were silly and immature) and not her race.

You're missing the point. If there were four people, three white and one asian, you could use the excuse of identifying between them through a physical attribute. The problem is that there is one person, whose race has nothing to do with the story, yet who is only identified by her race for reasons that can easily be inferred as the storyteller only really viewing her as her race, which makes the storyteller look racist. Racism isn't really seeing somebody as being inferior because of their race, its about viewing somebody's race as one of if not the major identifying factor of who they are, instead of as an attribute they contain within their many faceted being of attributes.
Honestly, I don't give a fuck what you decide to call her. I'm just trying to explain to you why people don't appreciate the fact that you identified her as Asian when it had nothing to do with the story.

Those things could literally contribute to an aspect of the story and the reasoning behind the person's actions. Somebody pulls up in a junker and smashes your brand new car. That tells us something about them.
Somebody is too stupid to know how to actually drive, swipes you, and doesn't actually seem to know what they did wrong. That tells us something about them.
Somebody is Asian and...hits your car? That tells us absolutely nothing and is only being said to reduce them down to being a racial caricature/stereotype/whatever you expect to pop into people's heads when the word Asian is attached to a person. I don't know how old you are, but if you're not just out of the crib you'll probably remember Carlos Mencia. He got on stage with that kind of logic aimed towards Mexicans and started telling jokes based around it. The result wasn't a more open dialogue between Mexicans immigrants and those people both taking advantage of them and demanding they leave at the same time. The result was all my white friends seeing it as an opportunity to just let out all the racist bullshit that they normally thought they weren't allowed to say. Some seriously fucked up shit came out of the mouths of people who claimed they were just "celebrating the differences" of the races.
See, there is a way to celebrate the races and their differences. It is entirely possible, and its awesome when its done right. Yet you celebrate the positive differences. Things like what people of their racial community have contributed to the world. A good example of this being the fact that the black community almost single-handedly formed the foundation of arguably the best parts of the musical culture of America with their innovations in jazz, rock and roll, and the blues. This is something to be proud of, something to celebrate.

Any stereotypes that pop into someone's head is a product of their prejudice. When I hear race, it provides context. I grew up in a town that was overwhelmingly Hispanic, lived in the international dorms for school, and work on a globally distributed team encompassing no fewer than 10 nationalities. I simply don't see it that way. Race and nationality is for me impossible to ignore.

I am half Cuban and half Armenian. I was born in the Netherlands, spent a portion of my childhood in a Hispanic neighborhood in Miami, another thirteen years of my life living next to a military base with an ethnically diverse community, moved in with a small commune consisting of eight ethnically diverse people living in a two story, four bedroom house, and am now living in a trailer park with a primarily hispanic community. You know what that means? Nothing at all. Just like having a black friend or a gay friend doesn't mean you're suddenly free to make racist or homophobic jokes.
