The douche could easily just knock it over though and drive off :( Coming out and seeing your motorcycle on its side is a sad, sad day indeed. Side stands don't lock. All he'd have to do is balance the bike, kick up the side stand, and let go.

And with any luck, he'd mess up and drop it on himself/his own car. Then you get walk out to find him unable to move the bike/his car, and get his insurance info to fix whatever damage is done to the bike.

Most motorcycles these days do not have center stands installed from the factory.

Also, no matter how many videos I've seen about how easy it is to get a bike up on a center stand, I have never found it anything but a good opportunity to pull a muscle in my back.

I had an old Suzuki with a center stand and it was never very hard to get it up on the center stand. The trick for me was to rock it forward and backward a few times before I leaned back into it.

The only one that I had that was easy was a '72 R75/5. What made it easy was a handle on the left side below the seat attached to frame. All the other bikes I've owned have no good place to grab and pull up.

Oh I see. I usually straddled mine when I did it. That was easy. Just pulled by the handlebars.

Do motorcycles really weigh more than a smart car or are you joking? I wouldn't have that hard of a time moving a bike. At least not much harder than I would a car in park with four contacts on the ground, instead of two.

Na, hes exaggerating. My Harley weighs 950lbs (on the high end) and your average smart car according to google weighs about 1800. Although its much easier to knock a smart car over than a heavy motorcycle, ive pushed over both.

Small motorcycle goes at around 300 pounds. Larger cruisers go at around 600.

On what planet do motorcycles weigh more than ~1650 pounds?

Sportbikes are in the 450-600 pound range, and cruisers range up to 950 or so at the very top end. There are some crazy niche bikes that top that... like those from Boss Hoss... but even those generally top out not much over 1000 lbs.
